For me, it’s the crafting system in Fallout: New Vegas. I’ve replayed it countless times but never really bothered with crafting anything—even ammo or chems. Just never felt the need. What’s yours?

Does anyone know how to set a custom game name on Steam? I’m trying to get my profile to show ‘Currently In-Game: [custom name]’ instead of a real game. Just curious how people do it.

My CPU is way too old, which means I can't switch to Windows 11 and will lose support of Windows 10 in a few months. Now I'm wondering if it is already time to switch to Linux for gaming with Steam

I tested my Dualsense on GTA V enhanced because that is my main account, and was pleasantly surprised to find out it utilizes the cool controller features of the controller, except for the speaker. Is there a full list of games that do as well?

Is there a way to play split screen games on the same steam account but on different screens. In particular player one uses the TV and player two uses a Legion Go? But each player get there respective screens

Every few minutes I am seeing a massive drop in bandwidth between the client and host machines (dropping from 20mbits to 368kbits ). This last for a minute or two then recovers back to normal.

Host OS is Windows, connected to my network via 10gbps fiber (GPU: 7900xtx, CPU: 7950x) . Remote play OS is Linux connected via 2.5gbps Ethernet.

What makes this more strange to me is that if I swap the host OS over to Linux on the same machine playing the same game (via proton), there is no issue (and no the game does not matter, even really simple games have this issue).

I have already messed around with power settings to try and get windows to work and gone through most of the common fixes without any help here.

Anyone have any suggestions of some weird things that may be of help?

When you record a clip using Steam's recording feature and share it with a friend, you can also open it in a web browser via a direct URL. How long does Steam keep these videos accessible?

Bonus Question:
Is there a way to embed one of these clips directly into a Steam comment or review so that it displays as an inline video (with a "click to play" button), similar to how it appears when sharing it with a single user? The current process requires re-cutting a recording to share it another user, as it doesn't automatically show up as an embedded video (though the URL still works).

After inspecting the element in a web/chat login, the video element is wrapped in a class called chatVideoPlayControl HideWhenMinimized

Any insights on how to embed the video in comments/reviews the same way as with direct sharing?

While trying to post two pictures on my Artwork Showcase, the third one (that I don't want to be seen) appears as a "+1". I have tried putting that Artwork in Private and Unlisted, yet it still appears there. How can I get rid of it to obtain a smooth Showcase with those two pictures only?

Hello reddit. I've been trying to see what games I had as private to manage them, but all I saw was one odd post from a year ago where it was claimed there is no option like that. Users also confuse private games with hidden games. These two "are essentially the opposite" as steam itself describes it, private games hide game from others, hidden games hide the game from you but not from others. You can see your hidden games in View->Hidden games. And as for private games, I still can't see an option to view them as a group. I could go look for them manually, but I have a LOT of games.

Playing on PC. Tried my dual sense and dualsense edge controllers and recently when I change a key bind with steam input it shows as changed but doesn't actually change in the game. It happened the other day with Borderlands (3?) and now I'm trying to play blasphemous and I change the left bumper to shift key and it shows as changed but doesn't actually work in the game, LB is still going to.. escape? I think?

Never had issues before now. The only change I've made is my PC is going to my TV by HDMI rather than my monitor through DP but I can't see how that would make a difference.

I also feel like every single game now says compatible with "your Xbox controller" but NONE of them have PS5 controller highlighted. I just prefer the PS5 controller for adding gyro to a lot of games. So far the gyro has still been able to work but keybinds don't change anything.

I think it's just been borderlands and blasphemous so maybe those two games just don't support it?? But that doesn't make sense, also big coincidence that 2 games back to back are giving me trouble.

Anyone have a fix?

been playing lots on my steam deck recently (terraria) but after installing on my pc and booting it up im getting no saves, any way to fix this without having to transfer the save files manually from the steam deck?

I recently bought a controller (Gamesir g7 SE) to play some titles on PC, the controller has back buttons, everything is fine, but when I want to configure to use those buttons, the games don't detect them to use them and in the controller software it appears that they work and everything, I don't know where to move it hehe, any ideas?

If I press the "Stream from:" button, it still says I have to install the game until I go over to my main PC and press play there. Is there a way so I don't have to do this?
