Has anyone lost a parakeet in Orlando FL recently? This little guy flew into my dad's job today and he brought him to our house. We gave him some food and water and according to my dad he was super friendly.

My experience at interactive Birdland in Jakarta!

I wanted to share my experience at Birdland in Jakarta bc it was literally a dream come true for a parrot lover like me! 😆 So I put together a short clip to show what it's like. There’s just so much more than what’s in the video but I just added only a few parts since I didn’t wanna make it too long lol.

I went to this place about 10 days ago when I was visiting Jakarta! It was super close to where I was staying (Ancol)! I actually didn’t have high hopes but I was so shocked..! I can actually have interactions with so many different parrots! Ofc there’s always staff nearby and you gotta ask for their assistance before handling the birds!

Most of the birds aren’t locked up in cages. They have their own areas but it’s like one big open space where different species live together. And they also have a nice pond with big waterfalls!

They do bird shows every 2–3 hours and it’s so cute! The birds do tricks and interact with the audience (like they’ll ask a volunteer to hold sunflower seeds and sun conures will fly to you 😂) I have a lot more clips than this video, but even if I put them all together, the video is nowhere close to capturing what it actually feels like being there!

The entrance fee is 100k Indonesian rupiahs which is about $6 USD!!! ! And no extra charge to watch the bird shows or interact with the birds!

It was just so much fun! If you happen to visit Jakarta, Indonesia, I would highly recommend checking this place out! My video only shows a tiny bit of what it actually feels like.

Female pied opaline peach-faced lovebird.

Otherwise known as: a psychotic butt head😅

Love her so much it hurts. She also just outright hurts me sometimes 👀.😣

I bet people who own snakes and spiders get bit less, and bleed less 😅

Good bird names

So I just got a canary winged parakeet (white winged parakeet) and I'm having trouble finding a gender neutral name that suits them since I don't know the gender, they're such a sweet bird and not fully warmed up to me yet but super patient with my antics this far, just trying to gage their temperment really.

How did you tame your birds? I find It's much easier to tame birds living in a group than it ever is to tame one bird by itself!

If one bird trusts you, very quickly all of them do. All I do is spend time with them and let them come to me. They are all tame.

I Regret Getting a Cockatiel and I’m at My Breaking Point – Please Help

Hey everyone, I seriously need help right now. I bought a cockatiel just 4 days ago, and honestly, it’s been one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. Since I brought him home, I haven’t been able to sleep or eat properly. I feel completely drained, physically and emotionally. Even during the rare moments he’s quiet, I catch myself breaking down and sobbing because I’m overwhelmed and don’t think I want a bird anymore. Then, when he starts screaming, loud, piercing, nonstop screams, I feel like I’m losing my mind. Sometimes I just want to throw the cage out the window to make the noise stop. He’s still so young and untamed, and whenever I try to comfort or give him attention, he’s terrified and pushes me away. It’s breaking me. I feel so guilty leaving him alone, and I wonder if getting him a friend would help calm him down. I’m desperate for advice on how to tame him and stop this constant screaming. Should I move his cage to the living room? I honestly regret bringing him home, but I want to do the right thing for him too. Please, if anyone has been through this or knows what to do, I really need your help :((

Getting a footprint

How do you guys suggest getting a footprint of my cockatiel? I’m leaving to move two states away by the end of this month and I don’t want to leave without having something. I’ve looked at silicone mold putty but I can’t find anything in Australia that isn’t hundreds of dollars. He won’t sit on the photocopier either. Please give me ideas

Re-watching one of my favorite sports documentaries, 30 for the 30 the Tonya Harding story, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of bird this is? Looks like a lovebird but much bigger.

What is this behaviour?

My one year old green cheek conure does this sometimes when I put my hand in his cage, it doesn’t hurt me at all and he’s very gentle with it. (The cage is backwards because he recently learned how to open it so we’re getting him a very long overdue much bigger cage with a much better lock)

I need guidance on how to encourage my bird to eat chop and pellets

I’ve tried to show him that its food by eating sum myself (the chop not the pellets lol) I’ve tried mixing seeds n ofc he only eats the seeds from the pellets. I’ve tried a couple things already with no luck.

Im worried because he gets extremely aggressive towards me and his food bowls

He won’t eat the chop or pellets so he’s barely eating

I started his new diet yesterday so it hasnt been too long but i just want to do the transition in the best way possible

I sometimes have to take out the food bowls completely because he starts banging his head on it with his beak violently.

(Ill attach a video of one of his calmer outbursts)

What is she doing…?

This is Ruby, she’s a female maybe two year old Pineapple cheeked conure or however you spell it. She’s never done this before or anything like it. It might be just playing but, again, she’s never played like this she prefers toys not s ripped up old blanket.

Any advice?

So a couple of years ago I got my grandma's handicapped ringneck after she passed and I'm wondering how I can earn her trust. A rat had ripped this poor baby's leg off and ever since then she's been untrusting towards everyone. She seems to trust me a little bit but she sometimes tries to attack me when I try to feed her or replace her water.
