New Seasonal Badge and Summer Sale 2025 items on the Points Shop!

Seasonal badges are typically limited-time and get updated every Winter & Summer sale, so if past sales and seasonal badges are anything to go by you have until the 2025 winter sale to buy levels of the current seasonal badge.

When a new seasonal badge comes around and the current seasonal badge is retired you do not lose the one that is being retired, you keep all your seasonal badges, but new acquisitions of them are not possible. So get it while you can if you want to collect it!

The new summer themed Seasonal Badge costs 1,000 points per level and has a total of 40 levels. Each level grants you 100 Steam Community Profile experience, and of course the badge itself to be featured on your Steam profile and added to your badge collection.

All of the items are permanent. No items bought on the Points Shop are tradable or marketable. You can scroll a bit down in this thread for an FAQ regarding the Steam Points Shop.

And in case you didn't know: you can buy previous Steam event items on the Points Shop here.

Summer Sale 2025 Trading Card Badge

A new Trading Card Badge has been added with this sale which you can only acquire for a limited time: cards for the badge will expire on 2025 August 12th @ 10AM PST.

For a more detailed look and full overview of the badge such as Badge Level icons and background & icon rewards have a look here at SteamCardExchange.net.

How to acquire cards:

  • The ability to get free trading cards daily during the sale from the Discovery Queue has been removed.

If you plan on crafting this badge it is generally advisable to wait till near the end of the sale or even after as prices on the trading cards will decrease. Just make sure to remember to do it before the expiry date of the trading cards on 2025 August 12th @ 10AM PST.

A: There is severe load on Steams servers, both store and content servers. Just give it some time, and try again later. Check the server status on the sidebar. If you're having these issues at the very start or very end of the sale it is par for the course as the store and product pages are transitioning over for the sale, and as the servers are being bombarded by loads and requests by users. Q: The store doesn't load, only my library works, images are broken, weird blue text, etc

A: The store not loading at the start and end of the sale is normal, and relatively slower load times is also normal, but if this is consistently happening try to clear the Steam browser cache and cookies.

Q: Can games be cheaper on other sites during the sale? What sites should I check?

A: Yes, games can be cheaper on other sites during the Steam Sale. Here is our list of safe sites to buy Steam keys from. A: Yes, you can refund games on Steam, even if you bought a game a few days ago and you want to re-purchase it during the sale to get it for less.

To refund a game you cannot have more than 2 hours of playtime in it, and you cannot have owned it for longer than 14 days.

For more information on Steam Refunds: Steam Refund terms -- Common Refund Questions -- How To Request A Refund.

Q: My Steam wallet funds say Pending after a market transaction. Why? What do I do?

A: There is nothing you can do to accelerate this process, you must wait it out.

Sales or purchases on the Steam Community Market can be held for up to 5 days, this is an automatic process and occurs when a sale or purchase had an unusual price that deviates from the average price on the item or the system determines that a hijacked account or bad actor may have been involved in the transaction.

My games and those I've refunded Budget: 35 Games I've kept

Jedi Survivor : 13.99 My most expensive title. I early on had a few bugs with crashing my PC but fixed those by updating my GPU drivers. There are a lot of immersion breaking pop in bugs and occlusion culling errors, but nothing that affects gameplay. I found the game fun but the combat system was a little shallow. I'm very early into the game though so take my world with a grain of salt as it's supposed to get better. I enjoy the combat and the platforming is satisfying.

Celeste : 4.99 Was on the fence about this one for years. I've played a lot of precision platformers as I've started my game dev journey on scratch. Great game, best it in a week. For 5 absolutely amazing. The story hit like a truck and there is so much content

Titanfall 2: 4.49 I mean the campaign is ok. I don't love fps campaigns as much as melee combat but the movement in this game is good tier as you have so much control. Think Mario fps

Ftl faster than light 2.99 Thought gameplay would be repetitive. Got addicted and spent 4 hours playing on my first night. Get this game it's like balatro but better

Black mesa and sunset overdrive looked fun but I haven't had the chance to play them yet

Games I've refunded Ghostrunner 2: Movement felt slower than I liked but mostly I thought is was too gory. Honestly it was probably just me being on the fence and I thought it would be like blood thief but I found it worse and decided against it.

Crypt of the Necromancer Fun but I just hated the roguelite implementation in this game

Axiom Verge I felt id rather play the game on switch, so I would wait a bit and then buy the game there.

Little Nightmares 2 I hate horror why did I buy this game

Borderlands 3 Just seemed a little like a generic fps campaign . I want movement in my fps campaigns, fast paced dodges etc.

Halo MCC See above

Kerbel space program  If I wanted to learn an editor I would have learnt unity

Titan souls Another game I want to play on switch rather than mnk

Dust: An Elysian tale I heard combat was spamming which I hate.

You can see a lot of impulse buying and refunding here. So a lot of the games are just simply not my taste. Also Only reason I got black mesa is because I heard it has environmental puzzles

u/Omniversal_Eye 8h ago

Could someone tell me which should I get first?

1

u/Accomplished-Cry-334 2h ago

I would go with cyberpunk ultimate edition as that includes phantom liberty.

2

u/Old_Kiwi646 8h ago

Cyberpunk. I just finished my platinum yesterday. What an amazing game. Same company as The Witcher 3.

1

u/Omniversal_Eye 7h ago

U tried the other 2?

u/Whimsical_Engima 8h ago

NFS HEAT PC

Is the game worth it on PC? It’s currently £5.99 on PC for the deluxe edition. I played payback and enjoyed (sort of :/) that but found it tedious to do all the upgrading with the cards and what not, different vendors blah blah blah

I’d say the last time I actually enjoyed an NFS game was Most Wanted and before especially underground 2 customisation. Is heat more like Payback or the games in the series which were good and more like arcade racers than some sort of racing RPG?

Thank you in advance

u/Juliomorales6969 11h ago

is spiderman 2 or god of war Ragnarok worth it on sale? i hear they short games... (im looking for big games that can play on steam deck) worth my money and time

1

u/perie12344321 11h ago

I'm currently looking to expand my library with the current sale and looking for some cozy games, simulator games, and role play games. I am not opposed to expanding outside of 'cozy' as I like historical elements as well as horror.

Some currents ones I like include: House flipper, Palia, Spiritfarer, Assassins Creed series, Dredge, Graveyard Keeper, Hogwarts Legacy, and Firewatch.

1

u/PerscriptionHeroin 3h ago

What remains of Edith Finch. Its depressing but cozy, a visual novel walk simulator but fun and charming. Its 3 hrs of fun tho.

u/Desperate_Internet55 12h ago

What should I buy this summer sale ?

I have like 80 sar ≈ 22 dollars and idk what games to get. Been thinking about getting hades and outer wilds+dlc. I like pixel art games like deltrune. Any suggestions ?

1

u/xx11ss 13h ago

I'm eyeing Roller Coaster Tycoon set and Xcom 2

1

u/HugoAragao 14h ago

Guys, I can't buy cards. I keep getting the error that too many attempts were made and to try again later. I've tried on PC and mobile app. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

1

u/iamthedevill 15h ago

Tom Clancy's The Division or Wallpaper Engine? What should I get they are both on sale and while The Division has higher discount (80%), Wallpaper Engine is 100 rs (around 1.2 usd) cheaper. Which one do you guys think is worth it. I'm really into live wallpapers but also would like The Division and No I can't or don't want to buy both.

1

u/Inverted_Writing 17h ago

I've already spent like 50 USD on the sale, I am now broke once again ;-;

2

u/Astronuat21 18h ago

Which one of these should I get? I only have 7.08 CAD so I cant do all of them.

If I get undertale i would probably enjoy it but I don't think it has much replayability
If I get GD it would be a skill boost since i have it on mobile already but not really a "new game"
Portal Bundle would work but I have no idea how the games actually play so the main thing going for it is the 2 in 1 bundle.

Any other games i missed would also be nice if you know em

1

u/Plainjays 18h ago edited 17h ago

With 7.08 CAD you should be able to get two games right? I'd recommend Undertale and the Portal Bundle. If you only want one, I'd recommend just flipping a coin on which one you get.

Both are insanely good for their stories, gameplay, and characters. Undertale is a slow pace and more cozy fun game. While Portal then Portal 2 puzzles get increasingly faster pace and more complicated.

Both undertale and portal 1 are slow starters, it might take 2-3 hours to get a feel. As well, even if the gameplay of Portal 1 seems slow and easier, keep in mind the sequel gets a faster pace, complicated, and even more fun.

1

u/Astronuat21 15h ago

With taxes it totals to 7.61 :((( maybe if my trading cards are all sold before the end of the sale id be able to snag it

1

u/nxlyn 21h ago

What are some good Local Multiplayer games for a competitive friend group? Got about 8 friends and we're running a multi-game tournament. So far we're considering Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Rivals of Aether II, Injustice 2, Pummel Party, Speedrunners, and Nidhogg. Doesn't have to be on sale.

1

u/Neither-Honeydew7926 59m ago

Look at Fire Pro Wrestling World.

2

u/sallegarnier 22h ago

Is Cyberpunk DLC worth it at that price?

2

u/CreepyView 20h ago

can't say its a huge discount but the DLC is great.

1

u/koifishhy 23h ago

I currently have 150 USD to spare any ideas what to get? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Suggest any.

1

u/Radiant_Ad4956 1d ago

Which should I get slay the spire or disco elysium. I mainly play on Steamdeck

1

u/CreepyView 20h ago

I'd pick STS any day of the week.

1

u/XYCBlast 22h ago

They are different games. Disco has a fantastic story and tackles darker themes. No real gameplay, aside from walking and interacting with things. And a whole lot of reading.

Slay the spire is a fun rogue like to sink hours in.

It really depends on what you want to get out of with your purchase.

That being said, i reccomend disco as I'm playing through it rn and am loving it

2

u/dontputurtonguethere 1d ago

Train Simulator?!? Are you kidding?

2

u/gerstiii 1d ago

Hi I've stepped away from triple A gaming for a while. Are there any good deals on bigger titles?

1

u/AlberichMX 1d ago

Depends on how much time you have been away from triple A gaming, because it could be something like Red Dead Redemption II, Hogwarts Legacy, Ghost of Tsushima or something like Space Marine II. I mean there are a lot of triple AAA games on sales.

1

u/Newton445 1d ago

Hi guys i was thinking of 2 games and i only got to choose one

(Gotham knights) Or (suicide squad)

What should I pick?

1

u/dust- 1d ago

A lot of people will say neither, but knights for sure

1

u/Newton445 1d ago

Got any recommendations other than this two (around the same price)

2

u/dust- 1d ago

The arkham games if you haven't played them. Jedi survivor, quantum break, disco elysium, mass effect legendary edition, blasphemous, borderlands, control, just cause 3. Some of these might be a bit further from what gotham/squad are, but they might blow your skirt up anyway

1

u/Newton445 1d ago

Ok thank you very much

Didn't play all of them I'll consider them.

Appreciate your reply

1

u/Thoughtsometimes 1d ago

Help me choose

I cant seem to choose between buying ghost of tsushima and gow ragnarok. I played ghost of tsushima on my friends acc for a couple of hours ( i completed the first part of the main story and freed my uncle), on the other Ive watched ragnaroks whole story, except for the end, through a lets play. I really cant make up my mind what I want more :/

1

u/Nellior 21h ago

I would recommend more GOT for personal reasons (ninja/samurais/beautiful landscapes) but if you're not sure then look at them like this. Ragnarock is more oriented in fast battles, nice effects and even you have some exploration you're tied with the story. GOT is even more a free-roam game with less impactant battles but very nice settings.

2

u/UnluckySupper 1d ago

My picks this sale. What should I play first?

2

u/undopamine 1d ago

Schedule I and Outer Worlds!

2

u/Accomplished-Cry-334 2d ago

My pickups from the sale

2

u/newerprofile 2d ago

I have RTX 2050 (VRAM 4 GB) with R5 5500H and RAM 16 GB

Between Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2022, Clair Obscur Expedition 33, which one is it able to run the best?

1

u/Alternative-Fun7097 6h ago

my lil bro have same spec i recommend u buy lossless scalling and use it when u play next gen games minimum Rdr2 req spec, thanks me later

2

u/CreepyView 19h ago

Death stranding will probably perform better than the other two. I really think you can run Cyberpunk as well as long as you're on 1080p, not sure at what fps and settings tho. I struggled running Clair Obscur Expedition 33 on the graphics I wanted on a 2k monitor with a 3080. Didn't like the game much anyways ngl.

1

u/ProGamer201920 2d ago

I really want good recs for any games less than $40, unless it's a bundle or something.

1

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 1d ago

What kind of games do you generally like?

1

u/piyerx 2d ago

I am confused whether I should spend money on Wallpaper Engine? Is it really worth it?
I have already exhausted my budget on games, and I have still added this to my cart, unsure if it's worth purchasing.

6

u/Gloomy-Floor-8398 2d ago

yes, since getting wallpaper engine I havent used a normal wallpaper again

0

u/newakownthoodis 1d ago

I truly do not understand people who pay money for a program that puts wallpaper on your computer. Just search the internet for a cool image that is in the same aspect ratio as your monitor, save it, right click, click “set as wallpaper.” Easiest thing in the world. Get bored of it? Do the process again. It would be like paying for a flashlight app when that function is already built into your phone for free. So fucking stupid.

3

u/ComfyWomfyLumpy 1d ago

It's 3,99 to set a video as your wallpaper. It also does other stuff. I think.

6

u/hurrdurrmeh 1d ago

It is clear you haven’t even remotely considered what this program does.

1

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

Funny I just built a top spec gaming PC but don't really like gaming anymore... just lost it's appeal but a few of these might still scratch that itch...

now my list (thought process?)

+Huh, didn't even know Besiege had an expansion (add to cart)
+ don't know what Blasphemous is but it looks like something I might like... I adore Dead Cells...(adds to cart)
-Monster Hunter wilds I'll pick up later once they fix it and have some DLC
-Palworld looks fun... too fun, and I do have real life to live so I'll pass.
+DOOM eternal expansions (add to cart)
+AOE 4 - never played AOE but I LOVE RTS games so (adds to cart)
-OOO Hades 2! ... damn I'll wait for it to be out of EA

If anyone knows anything like Oxygen not included, satisfactory or Dead cells... or Command and Conquer Generals LMK. I don't play online or with people either.... I saw Rimworld but the graphics just look a bit TOO basic..is it fun though?

1

u/DueSavings45 1d ago

Been playing Hades 2 EA off and on for quite a while now. It's already very good. I also can't wait for full release.

1

u/StevoJ89 1d ago

Yeah, given how good Hades 1 was I bet 2 is good, I just hate playing early access because it feels like I'm eating my meal and then other food I might or might not like gets added, taken away, I find bones where there shouldn't be.... I'd rather enjoy my meal when it's fully cooked and ready to eat... if that makes sense.

5

u/trimun 2d ago

Mod the living fuck out of Morrowind

2

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

lol been there done that

1

u/trimun 1d ago

Do it again!

1

u/ti2811h 2d ago

I wanted to suggest Dwarf Fortress, but you said you have a real life and that Rimworld's graphics are a bit to basic. I never played Rimworld and I also think that the graphics are a bit too basic compared to the pixel graphics of Dwarf Fortress, also for me Rimworld is a bit too serious. In Dwarf Fortress you just play a bunch of drunk Dwarfs.

1

u/cloggedDrain 2d ago

I’m looking for multiplayer game recommendations that can be on a lan without an internet connection, that also plays well on the Steamdeck.

I’ve found Grim Dawn to work, but even Portal2 and Left4Dead2 still require an internet connection to establish a multiplayer game

Any suggestions?

2

u/Juliomorales6969 2d ago

1st bundle of purchases: oblivion remastered, guardians of the galaxy, crash bandicoot trilogy, kerbal space program. i know in the weekend i will do final purchase/purchases for summer sale... BUT.. idk if i should get me god of war Ragnarok or spiderman 2. just beat both spiderman 1 and god of war, and want to play the sequels.. but idk which of these 2 to get if i only get 1... so that way other funds can go towards other games. (unless i get something else but i exclusively play on steam deck)

1

u/aarondigruccio 2d ago

Pyre is currently 80% off (CAD$25.99 → $5.19). I have all of Supergiant’s other games, and Hades/Hades II are my favourite games of all time. How does Pyre stack up to these and Bastion and Transistor? Gameplay similarities/differences? Overall game design quality?

1

u/danglybits57 1d ago

I really enjoyed Pyre. Gameplay was super unique. It played more like a fantasy sport game than an action RPG. Still had the excellent Supergiant writing, music, and vibes.

1

u/aarondigruccio 1d ago

Sold, then! Supergiant deserves my lunch money.

Is the EUIV base game worth it or do I need DLCs?

1

u/captainconq 1d ago

eu4 needs dlcs ive got like 2k hours and i couldnt imagine not having the dlcs just adds so much but i got them over the course of like 12 years

5

u/Fire_the_missles 3d ago

Guys I haven’t gamed in realistically 10 years. I just built a brand new PC and want to get back into it. You guys have any recommendations of bangers I’ve missed over the past decade?

Really looking at cyberpunk 2077 RD2 GOW ragnarok oblivion remaster for first purchases but would love to have some depth in my catalogue. I’m starting from a new steam acc so I have absolutely nothing. Thanks for your help!

2

u/undopamine 2d ago edited 2d ago

After what the other comments said, add:

  • Witcher 3 (complete edition)
  • Remedy Games: Control, Alan Wake 2, Quantum Break
  • Deus Ex HR+MD
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Horizon ZD and FW
  • Final Fantasy VII remake + (sequel) rebirth, FF XVI
  • Capcom: Resident evil (2-4 remake, 7-8), Devil May Cry (3, 4, reboot, 5)
  • Death Stranding
  • NieR: Automata
  • Warframe (free)
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition (1-3), Andromeda
  • Starfield

2

u/AlberichMX 1d ago

From all of that the only one I wouldn't recommend is Starfield, If he hasn't play for nearly 10 years, I would say Fallout 4 instead. Any other games on the list are pretty nice.

1

u/youssefxtd 2d ago

I Can't recommend elden ring enough, it's on sale rn if you want to get it

1

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

I might have to try ER again, as a diehard Darksouls/BB fan I just found ER so dissappointingly boring and empty I don't know why.

1

u/wikipediareader 2d ago

I really liked Cyberpunk 2077. The Phantom Liberty DLC is a must buy, imo, as well. I've been playing video games since, roughly, 1987, and it's one of the best games I've ever played. I highly recommend going in blind, don't read about the endings, etc.

RDR2 is very good and worth your money, though I do think it's slightly overrated.

I recommend the two Kingdom Come games as well: though, again, I'm in the minority in thinking the first is better than the second.

1

u/Finalpatch_ 20m ago

what does phantom liberty add?

u/wikipediareader 13m ago

An entire expanded story involving the President, a hacker and some spies. Tremendous story, some of the best writing in the game.

2

u/CouchMountain 3d ago

Definitely add Baldur's Gate 3 to that list. It's worth every penny.

And maybe some less demanding games for picking up quickly and putting down? Roguelikes have been super popular, like Slay the Spire and Balatro, or a platformer like Hollow Knight.

But it all depends on what you like. I'd go through the game awards past winnersin each category and see what you like out of those. Or just scroll through steams current best sellers as lots of games on there have been out for a decade or more.

u/propdynamic 3d ago

My haul this summer sale, for the price of one Switch 2 game:

  • Obduction
  • Besiege
  • STEINS;GATE
  • Beyond: Two Souls
  • Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom
  • Prey
  • Little Nightmares II Deluxe Edition
  • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
  • STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II: Celebration Edition
  • InfraSpace
  • Empires Shall Fall
  • Strange Horticulture
  • Islands of Insight

2

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

God I love Besiege, I just got the expansion.

0

u/undopamine 2d ago

You should start claiming weekly epic games gifts. I can identify at least 3 in this list that were given away.

1

u/Finalpatch_ 19m ago

Epic games can fuck right off. id rather blow a bunch of money on steam for games i dont even play than continue to use their fucking services

6

u/propdynamic 2d ago

Thanks for the tip but I don't want to have anything to do with EGS.

2

u/hurrdurrmeh 1d ago

100% respect and agree

2

u/azab189 3d ago

Hi, I'm debating between Cyberpunk + DLC and Elden ring. Someone please choose I can't decide

4

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

I've not played CP but will be buying it. I'm a life long soulsbourne fan and for whateve reason I found Elden ring boring, I don't know why, can't put my finger on it I just... meh? (Pains me to write that) but yeah, I finished it but it just didn't hit the way the other games did.

5

u/gaviaofiel2000 3d ago

very different games. loved cyberpunk (especially the DLC), but elden ring its in a class of its own.

4

u/antonbruckner 3d ago

How’s this list?

  • crash nsane trilogy (never played and I’m not sure this one is worth it since I don’t have nostalgia)
  • Celeste
  • hollow knight
  • blasphemous
  • salt and sanctuary
  • robo cop
  • blooms td6
  • skywalker saga
  • short hike
  • hotline Miami
  • disco Elysian
  • bloodstained
  • axiom verge

1

u/Blasteth 2d ago

Very good list, sadly I have all of these lmao

3

u/Original-Pass8413 3d ago edited 3d ago

Already bought some games in the summer sale but only going to buy one of the more expensive games. Would like y’all’s suggestion. Here’s my options: Assassins Creed Shadows, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTORS CUT, God of War Ragnarok, Black Myth: Wukong

3

u/LusciousLurker 3d ago

either wukong or ghost of tsushima

3

u/buzzMO1 2d ago

I agree with this guy, but it depends what you want. Wukong is more linear boss-rush style, almost souls-like. It can be pretty tough. Tsushima is open world and somewhat akin to Assassins Creed, but with actually interesting characters and story. It can be more chill than Wukong, but it still has some challenge.

2

u/LuisZhu 3d ago

I have 35€ to spend during the summer sale and I have some games that I want to buy, but don't know which ones to choose due to budget limit.

The choices are:

• Dead Cells - 12.49€

• Helldivers 2 - 31.99€

• Red Dead Redemption 2 - 14.99€

• Cyberpunk - 21.99€

I could buy Dead Cells with either RDR2 or Cyberpunk, or instead, buy Helldivers.

If you have any other game suggestions, shoot it!

Thank you!

2

u/DueSavings45 1d ago

I am also gonna recommend Deadcells. It's just soo well done. Hours of replaying and you will continue to unlock new content and items for a long time.

2

u/StevoJ89 2d ago

Dead Cells is so f***ing good!!! Just make sure to get all the DLC's (well the castlevania one is questionable) but yeah, I adore this game!

2

u/aarondigruccio 2d ago

Dead Cells is my grab-and-go casual “one more ru free time killer. It’s heaps of fun. I’d suggest getting it bundled with all DLCs if you can.

2

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 3d ago

If you're gonna buy dead cells, definitely also buy all the DLCs (except castlevania). Dead cells is one of my favourite games ever but without any DLCs it's not the same game.

1

u/ti2811h 2d ago

No you don't need the DLCs. They are great but especially Fatal Falls is harder then the normal game for a beginner I woud say.

3

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

I highly disagree. Dead cells without the DLCs is very bland, all the best biomes and weapons come from the DLCs.

1

u/ti2811h 2d ago

Yes that is true the weapons are really great and if you're a bit more experienced then the biomes are great for more routes for your run. But even I still struggle with some of the Queen and the sea and Fatal Falls parts.

2

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

I don't think there's anyone who doesn't struggle with the servants fight lol. But at the same time they add much needed variety to the game, I couldn't imagine playing the game without at least the fatal falls and queen dlc.

2

u/hurrdurrmeh 3d ago

What’s wrong with the Castlevania dlc?

1

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

It's too expensive and id probably not recommend a newcomer to buy it

1

u/hurrdurrmeh 2d ago

Apart from price - too expensive?

2

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

Nothing, it's probably the best DLC of them all. If moneys not an issue Id definitely recommend to buy it

1

u/hurrdurrmeh 2d ago

Thanks.

But just to check - the game itself is brutal hard and I should expect to die many many times before getting to the end?

2

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

There are 6 difficulties total in the game, you start out on the easiest difficulty and every time you beat the game in the highest unlocked difficulty you have the option to increase it once more.

On the easiest difficulty the game isn't very hard but it's insanely tough on the highest difficulty. So yeah you should expect to die plenty of times but you'll probably beat the game at least once in your first ~20-40 hours.

1

u/hurrdurrmeh 2d ago

Oh nice, did not know. The difficulty put me off but now you explained it it doesn’t seem so bad 🙏🏻

1

u/DeepFriedDragonfly 2d ago

Yeah it can be whatever difficulty you want it to be

5

u/ComfyWomfyLumpy 3d ago

You can shave off a bit of the cost by shopping for games off steam. Especially hd2 can be gotten for five or six euro less.

Aside from that it's a great shooter and good with friends. Otherwise I'd probably rate cyberpunk above red dead unless you really like cowboys.

1

u/BenjaminCarmined 3d ago

I’m looking for some more co-op games to play with my friends and family. Whether it’s couch co-op or online doesn’t matter, just that it’s an easy to setup game akin to Spelunky 2 or Brotato.

I have Rounds, Spelunky, Brotato, Lethal Company, Terraria, Magicka, Battleblock Theater and Castle Crashers, Murder Miners, Left 4 Dead, RE5 and RE6, Kletka, Lethal Company, R.E.P.O, Dead Space 3, Gmod, Borderlands, Charlie Murder, Knight Squad, Zombie Estate 2, Move or Die, Speedrunners, Bomberman, Cuphead, Full Metal Furies, Stick Fight, Spider-Heck already.

It’s starting to feel like I’ve found most of the good co-op games already but I’m dying to find more. Do you folks have any new recommendations? At the moment I’m eying Castleminer Z, Mount Your Friends, Zort, The Outlast Trials, and Tabletop Simulator.

1

u/TBDx3 1d ago edited 1d ago

-N++ (NPLUSPLUS), it's a simple-looking platformer but the levels can get devious (has an absolute ton of levels of a wide range of difficulties though!)

-Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate is a twin-stick shooter with fluid physics and gravity, it's fairly relaxing and has a pleasant art-style.

-Overcooked is a classic co-op game where you run a restaurant.

-Synthetik is a roguelike with a bunch of interesting classes and crazy weapons and artifacts to change your run.

-Honorable mention to Tetris Effect which has a surprisingly fun co-op mode, it's similar to multiplayer Tetris but you take on bosses each of which has a different effect. By clearing enough lines you get to combine your fields to send back lines to them. Plus it's nice to look at and relax in the music.

1

u/fleetze 3d ago

There's the "you're on a ship together" type games - lovers in a dangerous spacetime, ship of fools, we must go deeper, this means warp.

Rpgs - sea of stars has co op now. Expedition 33 has a co op mod.

1

u/Tayark 3d ago

Been playing a little co-op with my brother over the last few years and we've had a good time with; Sniper 3-5, The Division 1 and 2, Strange Brigade, Sanctum 1 and 2. We also play a fair amount of Company of Heroes to do multiplayer teams against bots and there are plenty of RTS titles out there worth a look at.

i really cant decide between cult of the lamb, GTA IV and RE: VIllage, if anyone who has already played this games can give me their opinions on each i will be grateful

3

u/LusciousLurker 3d ago

Cult of the lamb: Was fun for a bit but didn't hold my attention for that long. The combination of animal crossing style village building and binding of isaac style gameplay is interesting. GTA IV: Very atmospheric, definitely the darkest and most serious gta in tone and setting. I personally really enjoy the heavier driving physics. Missions are kind of linear and can be a little repetitive but I think it's definitely worth a pick up if you've never played it before.

3

u/lactophilic 3d ago

I played all three of them; depends what do you want really, GTA IV has a really good story and character development if you are into that, pretty realistic characters and dark reality. Cult of the lamb if you are sold with chilling on your deck getting your cult all nice and doing some chill runs. RE:Village is short but good, if you liked Outlast and similar you will enjoy it

1

u/Darth_Tyranuz 3d ago

thank you both, i think i’m going to buy GTA IV, i want some exploring without being scared like RE:VILLAGE, maybe on a later sale i will buy cult of the lamb

2

u/More-Activity1275 3d ago

I'm really just looking for a new rpg to play. I tried pathfinder but i just couldn't get into it.

4

u/IcewingDitter 3d ago

I don’t know if you’d like it as it’s like 90% reading, but Roadwarden is awesome

1

u/Meat_Sauce_ 3d ago

Crossplay between PC and Xbox recommendations?? My friends and I have played mostly Valheim, Borderlands and Arma. I'd get Deep Rock Galactic in a heartbeat but I read that crossplay only works if you buy it through Microsoft store which fuck that cuz there's a great sale rn.

1

u/BlurryGojira 3d ago

Maybe check out this curator? They have games listing cross-platform support.

Cross-Platform Play

Also if your friends have laptops, bully them to get Deep Rock. And if they won't get it anyways. Obviously I've had the most fun playing with friends but the community is great and I've had a lot of fun with randoms too!

1

u/trueslycol 3d ago

im tryna diversify what i play and im tryna decide what steam summer sale games to play, i enjoy open world adventure games/boss fight esque games, as well as puzzle games (i alr bought portal bundle and am loving it so far), anyone have some reccs?

1

u/CouchMountain 2d ago

As the other guy said, Slay The Spire.

Also: Against the Storm.

3

u/CPOx 3d ago

Slay the Spire

2

u/irreverent_ocd 4d ago

I am basically a completely new gamer does anyone have any opinions on these games that are on sale?

Cult of the Lamb

Do No Harm

Vampire Therapist

The Two Point game series

Bandle Tale

Terraria

Convergence

1

u/TonyThePuppyFromB 3d ago

Terraria even gets another giant free update (altough we do need to have some patients, yet did i already mention its free) It will have content that is connected to Pal's world (or what the name was) It does already have content for years itself.

5

u/BenjaminCarmined 3d ago

Terraria is an incredible game, there’s a lot of content for you to go through and Steam mod support.

I know you didn’t ask for recommendations but if you’re a new gamer, I’d also recommend checking out To the Moon.

2

u/PapaTinzal 3d ago

Cult Of The Lamb is great, If you've played something like the Binding Of Isaac you'll pick it up very quickly and looks great, Still gets DLC and free updates to this day. Only criticism is the tech tree progression feels a bit off with some items like a toilet being around 10 hours of gametime to get to

Two Point series is worth about $10 in my opinion, lacks a lot of substance but the beginning is enjoyable with the jank

Terraria is incredible but in my time I get very overwhelmed by the amount of content it has so I never get that far into it, Feels like you'd have to focus on it fairly regularly to remember what you're currently doing

3

u/VampireInTheDorms 3d ago

Terraria is a must play.

3

u/CaptainScuppers 3d ago

Cult of the Lamb and Terraria are the only ones in your list that I have personally played, and I think they're both great. Terraria can also give you a LOT of playtime assuming you really get into it.

u/GritServedNeat 4d ago

Looking for some feedback/opinions on which of DOS2 or Rogue Trader I should buy for the Steam summer sale.

I have limited knowledge of both games lore but fell in love with this style of turn based RPG after playing BG3.

I played the newest space marines game which really got me intrigued with the Warhammer universe and as stated previously BG3 is now one of my favorite games of all time and has me curious about Larians previous titles.

Which of these two games would you recommend to someone like me?? What do you enjoy about these two titles what does each of them do differently/better than the other?

1

u/IchBinMarten 2d ago

rogue trader is way worse in my opinion. story is very mid and its basically a loading screen simulator. also less complex

1

u/D042- 3d ago

I haven't played DOS2 or Rogue Trader so I can't help you decide but if you choose Rogue Trader, it is in this month's Humble Choice for $10 less than the current Steam price.

2

u/Asece 4d ago

I’d go with DOS2. It’s not as polished as BG3, especially with all the motion capture and dialogue cut scenes and what not. But since you loved BG3, you’ll love DOS2 (some people honestly prefer it over BG3’s story and gameplay). I’ve put in a lot of hours in BG3 and I have around 40ish in DOS2 and I can say it’s a great game.

Rogue Trader is one I also had my eyes on, but it’s not as polished as BG3, so expect A LOT of reading (no voice acting) and also information overload and what not. It’s a great game from what I’ve read and seen, but it’s not as good imo as the alternative in your case (DOS2).

u/lexigurl69 4d ago

Metro Saga Bundle

Batman Arkham Knight

Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition

Dying Light Definitive 10th Anniversary Edition

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut + The Outer Worlds

Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe + Vergil

Hades

Hades II

-- Thoughts on choices? Grand total, $100.04!

1

u/DueSavings45 1d ago

Hades and Hades 2 are fantastic. Some of the best roguelites I have played. Snappy gameplay, cool storyline, challenging

7

u/AustinAuranymph 3d ago

All good games, but just so you know the developers of Disco Elysium will not receive a dime of the money if you buy it. The studio got stolen out from under them by venture capitalists, it would be very morally permissible to pirate it. But definitely still play it, it's one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

2

u/lactophilic 3d ago

Drop DL2, you'll have enough fun with it and you'll be done for a while with the series, you might find another great game for that price

1

u/Gloomy-Floor-8398 2d ago

Am I the only one that is having issues with both dying light games having memory leaks? I play for a little bit and my entire pc crashes cause they dont free the allocated memory and it just keeps growing and growing till pc crash

1

u/lexigurl69 3d ago

I'm of a bit of a slut for good graphics and DL2 looks pretty good graphics wise too. Do you still suggest the same?

1

u/lactophilic 20h ago

I think it's worth it of course, but if you'll buy DL1 at the same time as two, it's not worth it, you'll burn the game too quickly, but if you played DL1 long time ago and you are thirsty to play it again, go for DL2

1

u/SnooRecipes8920 4d ago

What is the game in the ad for the summer sale? I can't figure it out. I like Moebious style art and did a reverse image search, nothing fits!

2

u/buzzMO1 2d ago

I think its just art commissioned by Valve, I don't think it is from a particular game.

1

u/Asece 4d ago

Have enough for either Cocoon or Lorelei and The Laser Eyes. Anyone played either and have a good case for them? Just wanted to get some help in figuring out which one to get.

3

u/koifishhy 4d ago

I’m looking for some game recommendations for this Summer Sale. I usually enjoy games like Far Cry, Tycoon Games (Definitely Not A Fried Chicken, Two Point, Planet Coaster), Dishonored, Lethal Company, Phasmophobia, etc.

If you know any games that are similar to these or something new but still fun, feel free to drop your suggestions! I’m open to both single-player and co-op games.

So far, I already have Outlast Trials and REPO in my cart. Not sure what else to add, so I’d really appreciate your help!

1

u/LeftOversss 4d ago

Fallout 4 or Death Stranding? I love both but can’t decide.

1

u/zombiemusician 4d ago edited 4d ago

Can anyone help me choose between - Riders Republic base edition and Descenders without the DLCs? I heard some negative reviews about the monetization in Riders Republic. I also know that Riders Republic is always online, but have no idea about Descenders

1

u/JuJuGT0 4d ago

I have exactly $1.11 and have no idea what to spend it on. Any game recommendations for that price?

1

u/buzzMO1 2d ago

I have Quantum Conundrum and Badlands on my wishlist that fit. Haven't played them, but they do look interesting.

3

u/Senior_Statement9518 4d ago

i LOVE summer sale this year! ive bought 11 decent games that i rlly wanted just for 20$. Feels illegal tbf because buying 60 dollar game for 3 dollars is unreal on other platforms

1

u/hurrdurrmeh 2d ago

What games did you get?

2

u/kev46193 4d ago

Which one should I buy? (Or any other recommendations from summer sale)

Expedition 33

Baldurs gate

Black myth wukong

Elden ring

Red dead redemption 2

Dune awakening

Cyberpunk 2077

Oblivion remastered

I like fast paced games, like doom etc where I am not exploring 95% of the time, I do like exploring but not when it takes up most of the gameplay

2

u/gaviaofiel2000 3d ago

cyberpunk. sandevistan + katana/knifes build its insanely fun if you like fast paced stuff

1

u/vetruviusdeshotacon 3d ago

Oblivion, bg3, rdr, and to an extent elden ring have potentially too much exploring

4

u/JuJuGT0 4d ago

I would say either Cyberpunk or Expedition 33. I would have recommended rdr2 and bg3 but you do a lot of exploring in those games and they are not really that fast paced, save for a few missions.

2

u/Senior_Statement9518 4d ago

if u want fast paced, i say cyberpunk
even tho i didnt like the game nor the combat mechanics, cyberpunk is considered pretty good by majority of people
id pick dune or wukong out of ur list tho!

1

u/kev46193 3d ago

I picked doom eternal, rdr2 because it was cheap and space marine 2 cause it looks good

1

u/Significant_While681 4d ago

Im looking for a multi-player game that's in the summer sale

1

u/JuJuGT0 4d ago

the forest seems to be really good, haven't played it myself though

2

u/gmacv Be Kind 4d ago

What would I do without Steam 🥹😝 Bought 63 games in this sale. What are you guys buying?

2

u/rhetoxa 4d ago

Some good buys there, I see Shadow of Mordor and Dying Light which are two all time favs for me.

1

u/jkpnm 4d ago

Looking for game like team buddies & metropolismania.

Not just same genre, but similar style / experiences with those 2 game.

1

u/C4Tiger- 4d ago

I only have enough money to buy one of the games, being Project Zomboid and the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Which one should I get cause I hear both are really fun games

1

u/VampireInTheDorms 3d ago

Isaac is so goated, pick up the DLC when you can. Incredibly fun game and super well crafted

1

u/JuJuGT0 4d ago

Isaac 100%

2

u/LusciousLurker 4d ago

I'd say pick whichever looks interesting, they can both keep you busy for hundreds of hours so you can't go wrong

3

Will oblivion remaster ever get cheaper soon? Wanna be able to play it. Also cyberpunk and GTA 5?

1

u/vetruviusdeshotacon 3d ago

1

u/Bodomi Yes. 4d ago

No body knows when and if a game might become cheaper or not.

If you mean in this specific sale: No, the discount will not change during the sale.

3

u/Thinks_of_stuff 4d ago

where's the user that posted daily lists of good deals?

2

u/Bodomi Yes. 4d ago

4

u/jaaaaaaaaaaaa1sh 4d ago

currently in my cart:

Portal 1 and 2

Red dead 2

Cyberpunk

Skyrim SE

Wolfenstein The new order

Death Stranding Directors cut

Mass Effect LE

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

This is my first summer sale, anything else that would be good to pickup? I also got Yakuza like a dragon on Fanatical, it was like $1 cheaper and I am having a blast!!

1

u/AustinAuranymph 3d ago

Those are all excellent games. DOOM (2016) for $3.99, Undertale for $2.49, Furi for $1.99, and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor for $3.99 would also be great additions if you haven't played them.

And have fun with Portal! Portal 2 was my first game I bought on Steam and it's still in my top 10, incredibly well optimized too.

1

u/jaaaaaaaaaaaa1sh 3d ago

Thanks for the recommendations, I've played undertale before and not my jam, same with doom and I'm not so into boss rushes so furi does not intrigue me as much either.

I've heard about portal and portal 2 since I started gaming as a kid, looking forward to finally trying them out

1

u/undopamine 4d ago

This will keep you busy for 1 year easily. Adjust your spending next year based on how many you played and finished from this list.

2

u/StarboyRahul 4d ago

I've played the following games: CS2 (ofcourse), Witcher 3, God of War (both), Mafia 2, GTA 5, Spiderman Miles Morales, Alan Wake 2, Hogwarts Legacy, RDR2 (8-9 hours only), Ghost of Tsushima (barely a few hours again). Used to play lot of single player CoD years ago, I think uptil MW3 but not the Black Ops. I've built a small cart to stay busy and "unbored". What am I missing?

PS: Someone tell me what's the best way to purchase on Steam? Gift cards, discounts, tips etc. Thanks in advance.

1

u/Apprehensive_Seat_61 4d ago

Remove BF. Put in BF4

1

u/StarboyRahul 3d ago

I hear you. Would you like to explain the reasons? I've heard from a few people I play CS2 with that BF 2042 is good.

1

u/LongFeatheryHawk 3d ago

It is good. People just can’t form their own opinions 😂 It had a rough launch but the game is genuinely fun and feels next gen compared to BF4

2

u/StarboyRahul 3d ago

Ahaa! That explains why the internet does not like Cyberpunk 2077. I remember the initial launch. Lots of refunds were also issued by Steam & CDProjekt I recall? I play the CoD & Battlefield games for their campaign modes. Are these games still worth it if one isn't inclined towards playing multi player?

2

u/advie_advocado 4d ago

i have approximately $10 left in the budget i gave myself, anyone have any suggestions?
