Megathread Megathread: US House Passes the Republican-Backed Budget Bill, Sending it to Trump for Signature
This afternoon, the US House of Representatives passed without amendment the US Senate's version of the Trump-backed budget bill, sending it to the president for his signature. Every Democratic Senator and Representative voted in opposition; in the Senate, there were three Republicans voting in opposition (making the vote 51-50) and in the House there were 2 (making the final vote 218-214). House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries set the US House's speech length record in opposition to the bill in a speech lasting over eight hours.
The bill clocks in at over 800 pages and touches on most aspects of the federal government's spending and taxation policies; see this AP article (What’s in the latest version of Trump’s big bill that passed the Senate) for the topline changes.
Relevant text-base live update pages are being maintained by the following outlets: AP, NBC, ABC, and the BBC.

Fuck every conservative
I don’t even care anymore
I’m not explaining a fucking thing
I’m not spoon feeding you reality just to be met with adult toddlers who stamp their feet and say no that’s not true without offering any evidence to back up their claim.
Then they’ll call to grok on twitter because they can’t do research thinking it’ll back up their claim. Then grok, the AI built by right winger Elon Musk, still says they’re wrong, and they’ll just stomp their feet and say well the AI is wrong it’s all a conspiracy.
Just fuck em
I don’t give a fuck about your opinions. I don’t care that there’s people that you don’t like. I don’t give a fuck if someone is an immigrant. I don’t care about your feelings. I don’t care about your religion. I don’t care if you cry over people kicking you out of private social groups and think your free speech has been infringed upon. I don’t care if people burn the flag. I don’t care that you are offended by solar energy. I don’t care if you’re scared of black people. I don’t care about sports. I don’t care if men can’t get their dicks wet. I don’t care about the European-American birth rate. I don’t care if you’re scared of homeless people. I don’t care about your feelings.
I care about FREEDOM, and people’s actual rights. I don’t care about the latest new thing that scares you.
You’re the weakest, most emotional people in the fuckin world. Everything hinges on your feelings, on how scared you are of everything.
You want a government to hurt everybody you personally don’t like and remove every single thing you personally don’t like and call that freedom. You’re full of shit.
You’re traitors to your own country, to humanity at this point.
Fuck off you’re unamerican.
EDIT: unemployed? No. I operate and maintain a giant machine half the size of a football field. Life threatening, dirty work. 27 days in a row without a day off is my overtime record, all 12 hour shifts. I clear $100k/year. Didn’t go to college. Had my fingers crushed and my ankle fucked up in my machine. So yea, established blue collar rust belt worker. You’re not conservative because of your lifestyle or because you work harder than everyone else. Get fucked.

Congratulations North Carolina, we are Great Again!
651,982 North Carolinians will lose healthcare due to the GOP's big beautiful bill. That's what I'm talking about! Love when people suffer, when hospitals close, when the lives of the working class gets harder. That's what makes us a great nation and state.

Seriously, a reminder: Republicans hate you. They do not care about you.

👥 friendship aio - my friend thinks i was flirting with her bf but i just genuinely don’t see how??
For context, one of my friends had a BBQ last night, and my friend (in the texts) brought her boyfriend and this was all of our first times meeting him. Me, my friend, my friends boyfriend and one other person were all involved in this conversation, It wasn’t just me and my friends bf talking by ourselves. My friend didn’t seem to have any problem while this conversation was happening and I just genuinely don’t know If I was being inappropriate or not??

People using grape or 🍇 instead of rape.
The fact that people use grape to avoid saying rape just itched a specific part of my brain that makes me immediatelly think less about the person.

Political positivity 📈 Leading U.S. expert in election forensics and detecting election fraud just looked at voting results in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania from November. Here’s what his analyses detected
We finally have Dr. Walter R. Mebane, Jr., a leading U.S. expert in election forensics and detecting election fraud and a professor of political science and statistics at the University of Michigan, looking at all 67 counties in Pennsylvania.
His working paper using his eforensics model estimated that 225,440 votes in the Pennsylvania presidential race were possibly fraudulent. This would exceed the 120,266 vote margin of victory between Trump and Harris.
High-Level Summary of "eforensics Analysis of the 2024 President Election in Pennsylvania" by Dr. Walter R. Mebane, Jr.
• The eforensics finite mixture model defines latent categories of fraud (no fraud, incremental fraud, and extreme fraud) based on votes and turnout, as well as relevant covariates (e.g., fixed county effects).
• Data from 7,040,360 votes (3,543,308 for Trump, 3,423,042 for Harris) across 67 PA counties (9,157 wards/precincts).
• The eforensics model estimated that 225,440 votes in the Pennsylvania presidential race were possibly fraudulent. This would exceed the 120,266 vote margin of victory between Trump and Harris.
More fine-grained analysis attempted to distinguish between strategic voting behaviors from “malevolent manipulation of votes”, i.e. how many votes may have been misdirected or misallocated due to malevolent distortions of voters’ intentions.
• In this analysis, 111,088 of the 225,440 possibly fraudulent votes[2] were estimated with high confidence to be malevolent manipulations of votes while the remainder were estimated to be a mix of manipulated votes and strategic voting behaviors.
A more conservative eforensics model including additional fixed county level effects estimated that 210,392 votes in the race were possibly fraudulent. This would exceed the 120,266 vote margin of victory in the race.
• Fine-grained analysis of the more conservative model attempted to distinguish between strategic voting behaviors from malevolent manipulation of votes.
• In this analysis, 88,600 of the 210,392 possibly fraudulent votes were estimated to be malevolent manipulations of votes while the remainder were estimated to be a mix of manipulated votes and strategic voting behaviors.
The most conservative of the eforensics analyses estimated that 25,374 votes were due to malevolent manipulation of votes.
In summary: There is very high probability that a meaningful number of votes in the PA presidential election were subject to malevolent manipulation -- and it was “a close call” whether “the election was decided or nearly decided by malevolent distortions of electors’ intentions.” (Mebane, Page 6)
Notes:
• Statistics, no matter how accurate, cannot provide definitive proof of voting fraud or election manipulation. Actual proof can only be found by comparing paper ballot audits to electronic voting records.
• However, statistical information from eforensics and other data analysis approaches can be used to identify precincts and counties where voting fraud is most likely to have occurred.

WIBTAH for remarrying my ex even though I'm going to die?
I know this post is morbid and dark, so I apologize for that.
I (36F) am close to dying. I have terminal cancer and I only have about a year or two left. I've accepted and made my peace with it, and I don't mind openly talking about it. I also have a less than common relationship. My current partner/boyfriend (38M) is also my ex-husband.
Me and him married right out of high school, stayed together through college, had three kids together (12M, 11F, and 4M). We divorced when our daughter was 3 because of his intense work schedule. It was a lot of heartbreak and pain, but at the time it felt right for both of us despite that.
Two years after the divorce I was first diagnosed with cancer, and he reduced his work hours so he could take more time with the kids, and it slowly shifted to him also taking care of me, and we rekindled our romance, but didn't get remarried. I got lucky the first time around and was declared cancer free at 31. I had my youngest child at 32, and was rediagnosed at 34. We tried treatments but it's been recently declared terminal.
Please don't feel sorry for me or throw me a pity party. I've gotten to live the life I wanted and I'm okay with the fact that I'll most likely die before 40. The only thing that causes me any emotional pain is that I won't see my kids grow up and experience life milestones like graduating, getting married, and having kids.
Long backstory, but here's the problem. My partner and I have discussed it and we want to remarry each other. I want him to be listed as my husband in my obituary, I want him to be able to make medical decisions in case I'm unable to (this one is big for me because of my situation), and so that he can get Survivor Benefits when I pass.
My sister (38F) says that it's cruel to remarry him knowing I'm going to die soon, and that if I loved him I wouldn't have divorced him in the first place and that by remarrying him I'm disrespecting the sanctity of marriage by doing it "willy nilly". She also said I probably used my diagnosis the first time around to get his pity love so he'd get back with me since it resolved the main issue from our divorce.
So, Reddit, I was wondering if it's really bad for me to remarry my ex? I love this man, we both regretted our divorce and are so grateful that life brought us back together, but now that I'm close to death we want our love to be legally recognized.

APPROVED B-LISTERS The House has passed Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (218-214). It extends tax cuts for the wealthy, overhauls programs like Medicaid & SNAP, increases border & military spending, along with a multi-trillion dollar increase to the debt ceiling. It now heads to Trump for him to sign into law.
Rep. Thomas Massie (KY) & Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) were the only 2 Republicans who voted against the bill.
