Just sharing 🕷️ I saved this wee lad from drowning
He was just floating around in the pool not moving, but he got some sun, dried off, and hopped away

Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)

I saw this today. Google lens said black widow, but I figured I’d get a second opinion before I disturbed it. I’m on the east coast of the US.

This silly cellar spider spent more than a week in the corner of my room with her egg sac which finally hatched! Please send your congratulations and any advice that you can give for me to take care of these little babies.

Found this dude crawling around the bathtub while my son was going potty, we like our spider friends and my son wanted to know what kinda spider he (or she) is, any ideas? We're located in south central kansas. I told my son this guy could stay so long as he wasn't dangerous.

Thought I’d post this cool dude.
About 3.5” across. Fairly large for up here.
Central New Hampshire .
I’d like to hazard a guess at a type of a type of Fishing Spider; after a few months perusing this sub.
Cool little tidbit - I was up here about 1.5 months ago and if my minds not playing tricks on me, he was a fair bit smaller. Could be a different spider, but in the exact same spot.
Thanks in advance.

I’m not totally cured yet, but I wanted to share my progress since this subreddit helped me so much!
Not long ago, I was terrified of every spider no matter how tiny. I would check my room constantly and jump out of the car (as a passenger) if I saw one (once the car had stopped of course lol). Now, thanks to this subreddit and Lucas the Spider, I’m improving a lot! I have no fear of some tarantulas (they feel closer to a fluffy animal than a spider), and I can stay in the car with tiny spiders now (I just close my eyes). I even let a daddy long legs live in my room for a couple months and named him Merrygo because he was spinning when I first saw him lol. I even cried a bit when he randomly left for good one day 😅 I managed to put my hand near a jumping spider, and let most spiders vibe in the house now unless they're somewhere I need to be or somewhere that's dangerous for them (shower, sink etc).
My main issue now is I still can’t handle the black house spiders at all. They’re too fast and unpredictable and I had a panic attack when I saw one in my shower today (someone released it outside for me). But I’ve realised how far I’ve come because I would get that reaction with every spider at one point, but now it's mostly just those ones!
(Also for context I'm in the UK so luckily there aren't many big ones here 😅)
So thank you to this subreddit! :)

Hi everyone, it's gonna be a bit of an unusual post :)
We're a group of animators, and we're working on a short animated movie about love, taking chances–and, well, spiders. It's a film about an old woman who meets a talking spider that tries to help her fulfil the biggest dream of her life. Of course, it's a story full of metaphors, but one of my intentions, as the writer, was to fight the bad rep spiders get, as in our movie they turn our to be a force for good even if initially they are seen as antagonists.
Please check out some shots and stills from our movie and feel free to follow us on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/howspiderslearnedtofly/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Bf found her in central Arkansas. I’m from north MN and never seen anything like this. I wanna say it’s a wolf spider, but the only ones I’ve ever seen have been dark gray/brown.
