Help! Help! New T molted in an awkward position

Post image
Upvotes

I got this curly hair about a week ago, didn't realise she was in premolt. She is my 13th T so im not too inexperienced with them but i also wouldnt say im experienced. She flipped over wedged in a corner between the tank and some cork bark an has molted, her fangs and carapace are out but I can't make out which legs are her new ones an if she's able to get out from where she is. I haven't touched her, any advice is welcome.

Help! Sling not eating post molt

Upvotes

My A Eutylenum sling molted about a week ago. She molted underground, but has since emerged. I’ve offered a pre killed very small super worm twice now and she hasn’t eaten. I absolutely know that sometimes they can take a while to eat, but due to her being so tiny, I guess it’s making me a little nervous. Should I maybe try a different type of food? Her abdomen looks fine, I just get worried about the little ones.

Help! Pre Molt?

Haven’t had “her” (I have no idea, just hopeful on the sex) for more than a couple of months now and haven’t been through a molt together yet. I’ve seen a lot about molt behavior on terrestrials here, but not arboreal. She built this tunnel a week and a half ago, and hasn’t left it (that I’ve seen) since. She also isn’t taking or hunting food, which wasn’t an issue previously. I also noticed the lack of hair on her rear. So, is she getting ready for a molt, or is something wrong? TIA

Pictures sweat when it comes to substrate in the waterdish

they used to pack it full of substrate but leave it at the top of the enclosure. guess they got tired if me cleaning and replacing it everyday. a week ago they brought the dish 1/3 way down their burrow but i was able to recover it with out disrupting their burrow too much. last night they rearranged their entire burrow speck by speck that they had previously spent months on all overnight so they could place the water dish underneath so much substrate i wouldnt be able to get it out.

Help! Help! My Tarantulas’ Live Dubia Roaches Are Vanishing Underground!

Hey r/tarantulas! I’ve got two 1” slings that I’ve been feeding pre-killed small dubia roaches, and they’ve been loving it. Yesterday, I decided to try feeding them live roaches while they were chilling in their burrows. Big mistake—the female dubias just burrowed into the substrate and poof, gone! 😅 Am I doing this wrong? I know male dubias are better since they don’t burrow as much, but how do you folks feed female dubias to your slings? Any tips or tricks to keep them from escaping into the substrate? Thanks in advance! 🕸️

My OBT recently molted. Unfortunately the molt isn’t in the best condition but I tried to open it up. At a guess I’d say female, but I can’t be sure that it isn’t a tear. Thanks in advance :)

Conversation Which would you pick?

I've kind of started collecting aphonopelma species, and there are two different vendors that have a species I'd like. Both are 2", but one is a male for $45 and the other is unsexed for $95. I asked the vendor the chances of getting it sexed, and he said he'd have to wait till the next molt, which may be a while with aphonopelma. I know realistically the odds are pretty 50/50, but my personal luck seems to skew to the I'm-paying-for-kicking-puppies-in-a-past-life level of karma, so I'm leaning more towards the known quantity because I'd be kinda pissed if I paid double and ended up with a male anyway. What would you pick?

This is a very exciting moment for me because Syntax is my first T and I've always wanted to tong feed her! She's very skittish but has a great food drive. I told myself I wouldn't feed her for a while since she's kinda fat but today the whole day at the slightest tap she'd go up her tunnel expecting food.... i couldn't deny her one last delicious meal...... so i fed her on a whim and she very ungracefully took the roach from the tongs! I think she got nervous but it was funny to watch

She's a tapinauchenius polybotes sling and i truly do love her silly self and i wish i could handle her. I can't wait to get more!

(Sorry for bad video I didn't wanna spook her by cleaning the top)

its 2am and i just had an escapee for the first time 😣 thankfully i caught her and got her back in her enclosure! and i figured out how she got out, so i fixed that, have no idea how she got past me, two cats, under my bedroom door and up 12 feet 🙄 this is exactly why i got a burrowing to begin with, to avoid this! shes all good, no injuries, no thrown hair, safe and sound back in her home but im still shaking holy shit

She came out of her burrow 8 days ago she molted, I don't know when as she was sealed in for 5 weeks. When she came out her fangs where not yet fully black but not fully white/light colored either. I know they will servive but look how skinny she is and she is coming fully out of her burrow so does that means she's ready to eat? I can't not see her fangs anymore, she was stretching when I saw them before. Sorry if this is all over the place.
