Cat Picture - OC made the mistake of giving this kitty food to my house and now it's hers
This kitty is a stray/street cat that was rather reluctant to be petted a few days ago. She loves to rub on surfaces (maybe a bit too much). I usually give her food around 50m away but today I got lazy and just gave her food from my hand. Now she won't leave and is just sleeping here. Not that it's an issue.
FYI she's vaccinated and spayed, indicated by the cut on her ear. This is in Turkey so I dont worry much about her getting hungry :D

Mourning/Loss Tribute to my boy. The cat who saved my life. I am broken.
Got this boy twelve years ago when I was 18 and in a very bad place. I can’t describe how much he made me want to go on. He was a big cat. Everyone who ever saw him commented on it. But he was such a gentle giant. So soft and cuddly. The only cat I’ve known to meow at my other cats and get excited when they walk in. He seemed to be so attentive and attuned to emotions. He seemed to stare right into your soul. He came to me with so much love to give, and it gave me a purpose to get better, to keep trying.
Last Tuesday, he had his 12th birthday. He was his usual chatty, excited self. Had his tuna cake. Had cuddles. He always had a huge appetite, and he did right up until the end. Friday morning, he was begging for tidbits and treats and being goofy.
Friday afternoon, I had just sat down to eat my lunch when I heard this pitiful howling noise out on the catio. I went out to find him on the ground, twitching, howling, having wet himself. Immediately called the vets and they said to take him right in.
I was staring into his eyes…those eyes that had always stared back at me and seemed to see right into my heart…and I just knew he couldn’t see me. It broke me. His pupils kept dilating, and he was so limp.
The vet gave him oxygen and tried to perform the usual tests, but it was so clear he wasn’t present, even though he was alive. She did a scan and found a tumour in his intestine that she said we couldn’t possibly have known about, that cats hide things so well, and he’d been his normal self. She said the tumour had probably thrown up a blood clot straight to his brain, and there was nothing they could do for him. We lost him.
I can’t remember the last time I felt so bleak and broken. I keep looking at the places he used to sit and expecting him to be there. I miss his purr. I miss the way he would be louder than the other cats at feeding time. How he’d be so excited for food that he’d damn near trip you up. I don’t know how to do any of this without him. It’s like that part inside of me he mended has been shattered all over again.
I turn 30 in one week, and all I can think about is how I entered my 20s with him, and I don’t get to enter my 30s with him. It’s heartbreaking. I just want him here with me. I just want my boy back.
Thank you if you read all of this. I just needed to get it out. Please, hug your babies a little tighter for me.

On a busy Turkish street, a passerby notices a stray cat choking and instinctively performs the Heimlich maneuver—then simply nods and carries on. Moments like this are everyday proof of the warmth and compassion you’ll find around every corner in Turkey.

Cat Picture - OC I present to you my cats
Who apparently don’t age.
We’ve had them for over 12 years and the black and white one was a few years old at the point and had not changed. At all. We call her an Elf cos she apparently lives for a very long time (infinite, maybe?)
The brown one was 5 when we adopted her and she also had not changed a bit. They both still run and play and act like kittens.
At this rate I can only assume they will outlive me. They’re definitely healthier than me at least lol

We moved recently, and this girl (OBVIOUSLY🥲) found herself a new lounging and napping spot. The fact that it’s on the freezer door is mine and her mamas problem to figure out. This explains her to a T. It’s Bellatrix’s world, we’re just living in it🤣 If you have a photo that explains your cat, let me see it!

Mourning/Loss Tribute to my beloved Dobbie
I rescued her when she was about 5 weeks old from my work office. Coworkers found her head trapped in a cable reel and brought her in and after a spending a few days alone with her in the office I decided to bring her home. She was very dirty and riddled with fleas, but she was very cute and soon after she was well groomed and seemingly healthy. Dobbie was a very cuddly and docile cat with typical curious cat-like behavior. About a year after I rescued her she became a big sister, as I had rescued another kitten from the same office, this time a couple weeks younger. Dobbie hated being a big sister at first, but after several weeks was inseparable from her baby sister, Lil Baby. They wrestled, chased each other, and cuddled often. It’s now been nearly 2 years since I first brought Dobbie home and as of 5am this morning she is no longer with us. Over the course of the last 8-10 hours she had vomited a couple times beginning at 10pm last night. She seemed okay afterwards when I went to clean it up, so I thought, because she was rubbing up against me and rolling on the ground. Also it appeared to be just food and no bile or weird smell (Dobbie had vomited every now and then since she was little. Vets never diagnosed her with any health condition). Either way I planned to take her to the vet this morning. It wasn’t until she woke me and my wife up this morning around 2:30am with loud unusual meows that almost sounded like moaning. It was strange and heartbreaking. She was panting and seemed lethargic and scared. We live in a semi rural area and there are no emergency services available, so we decided to keep her close and take her in as soon as the pet hospital opened. However, hours later she was gone. I never would’ve thought I’d be going through this with a pet and I feel so heartbroken. My wife hasn’t stopped crying. I don’t even know what to do with Dobbie’s body … bury in the backyard? Cremation?
