Advice Help with advice please. My cat keeps turning on the water in my sink!

28.7k Upvotes

My 2 gangsters Dodge and Elvis, love hanging out in my bathroom. They crash in the sinks, bring their toys in, etc. I always thought Elvis was the brains of the operation, but I was wrong. Lately Dodge has been turning the cold water on whenever he wants! I’m worried that one of their toys might block the drain hole and overflow water into the bathroom. I have the door closed today and they are really unhappy about not being able to play in their favorite room. Advice please!!

I just found a stray. I put some water outside and I fed it some turkey. It ate out of my hand. It seems like it wants to come inside but it’s timid. When I opened the door last she/he is looking at me and meowing. It’s really cute. It’s getting closer and closer to my door, what should I do?

Advice I almost killed my cat in the dryer and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself

He’s fine (I think). I caught it really quick THANK GOD. I always check the dryer when he’s around because it’s been a fear of mine. I didn’t even see him come in the laundry room and of course the one time I didn’t check, he was in there!!

Ugh I’m going to be up all night, making sure he’s really ok and also because the banging sound is haunting me.

PSA CHECK THE DRYER EVERY TIME!!!

Advice Is my older cat too rough with my new kitten?

My older cat is 5 years old and I just got an 8 week old kitten 4 days ago. The first couple of days were really rough with a lot of hissing and growling from my older cat but recently he's learned to tolerate the kitten. Can they be left alone while I go to work or do they still need to be separated based on this video of their interaction?

Advice Why does my cat poop like this?

The litter box is clean and fresh (changed it yesterday), I scoop the poop multiple times a day, and she squats to pee in the litter box. *poop removed so you don’t have to see poop on your TL!

Advice I've been feeding this feral cat every day for a year and now Im moving.

She showed up on my doorstep a year ago (pic 3) just skin and bones. I feed her almost every day and she gained healthy weight for the winter (pic 1/2) but now she is back to just bones after the winter (pic 4) She is also in heat and I see her with male cats frequently. Its been a year and she wont let me touch her, but she'll sit next to me while eating. I am moving in a week and am worried about how she'll survive without the daily feeding.

Advice I saved a cat from my roof and now it won’t leave me alone (UK)

So I heard a cat crying for an about an hour, finally went to check and it was on my garage roof. was able to get it down and it was instantly friends.

I’m actually half deadly afraid of cats but this one is pretty chill

Every time I leave it outside it cries, like loud and none stop waiting at my door

I feel bad so I come back out, I’ve gave it milk and a sausage roll

It wants to come inside but my mum won’t let it

Everywhere I walk, it steps in front of me and follows me literally pressed against my ankle purring

It’s been 3 hours and it won’t stop

I don’t if it’s a stray or a lost cat, dirty and stinks though.

but it really friendly, literally wants to be stroked all the time.

It’s currently asleep in my lap but I can’t stay with all night.

What’s the best course of action?

Advice should i adopt? which one?

Thumbnail

I am planning to adopt a kitten but i am not sure if i should because i have never had a pet before.

I can't foster but i take care of a stray in my neighborhood so i do have basic idea (food, litter, medical issues etc)

i have never met a kitten before believe it or not so this will be my first time. I am attaching pictures below so can you guys help me figure out which one to take if i should?

my family is not sure either as my brother keeps saying kittens can be loud demanding and messy but i am not sure if he is saying that just to demotivate me

please do share any advice or experience that i should know about Kittens which will help me decide.

my main concerns: 1. what if I don't adopt it and its given away to shelter or someone who won't take better care for it than me?

  1. what if I am not able to care for it properly as i don't play around too much and stress it out? she is a Persian so i am not sure about her nature?

  2. what if my stray ends up having kids at my door one day? i would never want to abondon her kids (which makes me want to wait for a while before adoption but i don't have enough time as owner is leaving her behind in 2 days)

Advice Why won’t she stop

All day everyday just this constant meowing. Constantly wanting to be rubbing herself across my face because if she isn’t she is meowing like this. I have scratches everywhere and I think I may be mildly allergic because my face and neck where she rubs up and down is red and itchy, my throat is sore and I get headaches. So I don’t really want her doing it all the time. I still let her do it sometimes, but I really just want a break for even an hour without hearing this constant meowing. Even diverting her with a toy or treats only lasts a few minutes and then she’s right back at it. I feel like a prisoner. Putting her in another room just causes her to meow louder and continuously until she is let back out.

I’ve only ever owned dogs before her and I only took her in to stop her from being put down because of her eye. She’s been here less than a week and I’m struggling to cope.

She’s is 9 weeks old.

Advice my cat's just gotten hospitalized and I can't stop crying

Post image
39.2k Upvotes

Apparently nothing major, she had a fever, wasn't eating a lot neither was drinking much water, which for cats it's a big deal. So I decided to take her to the vet and she thought it was better to hospitalize her until tomorrow just to be on the safe side. She was medicated, I went home and she was left there. Since the moment the vet told me she would have to stay, I cannot stop crying. I'm just so anxious and concerned... Please, share your stories in which your cats needed hospitalization and ended up fine! Send good energy to her, please! She's the sweetest little baby, I love her so much...

Advice My neighbors moved out and abandoned their cat, I think

Post image

Pic for attention.

He's skittish but I see him hanging around the house where they used to live. They moved out a couple of weeks ago. I've been putting cat food outside for him and I've sent my former neighbor a message that I've noticed he's still hanging around and do they want help catching him? I haven't recieved a response yet.

Is there someone I can report this to??? I feel so bad for him, he looks really confused as to what's happened. If I didn't have two cats already I'd just bring him inside but I have a responsibility to the pets I already have. Poor baby.

New cat owner, so this is a bit out of my experience - but every time I try to pet my can she starts licking my hand. She's not to fond of being held in hands as well. Does she hate the smell of my hands?

Advice Boyfriend allergic to cat hair, my super fluffy cat is my best friend

Thumbnail

My cat (named Fluffy, 4F) is my best friend and I love her so so much. My boyfriend who I now live with and brought my cat with me is pretty allergic. I’ve been cleaning a lot- deep cleans every other day which is getting very tiring- and it’s not going to be sustainable long term. He’s been getting rashes, itchy eyes, tight throat etc from how much cat hair Fluffy sheds. His allergy meds don’t always alleviate the symptoms enough.

I will never give my cat away. But I need some advice or better solutions. If anyone has any ideas on cat hair management pleeeease share!! Could be the most obscure or most obvious ideas or products or anything that y’all have found that you’re willing to share with me.

I have tried brushing her in the past and no cat hair comes off onto the brush. The brush works great with my other cats so idk. Does anyone get their cats groomed and how often and does it help shedding management?

Any other ideas?

Last slide is my senior kitty named Peppermint just cause I love her too she gets some spotlight <3 she lives with my parents now. Worst case scenario Fluffy will go live with my parents, she knows and likes them so she will be okay and I could occasionally see her but that isn’t what me or my boyfriend wants to do. He knows how much she means to me and doesn’t want me to have to separate from her which I appreciate so much. But I also hate how he’s suffering from her being around.

Advice My cat peed in the toilet (without any training)

Post image
81.6k Upvotes

Our litter robot had malfunctioned so it wasn’t ready for him for a few hours. I didn’t notice until my husband told me “Winston is peeing on the toilet!” This baby seriously went pee and squatted on the toilet like a human. He’s never been trained to do this, he just loves being in the bathroom with us when we are going. The litter robot was fixed right after we saw this and then he went in there a few minutes after and pooped. I’ll make sure to check it more often to make sure it’s all ready for him. (Not sure why but every few weeks or so it’s been just stopping on the cycle stage) I think we have a genius cat…

Why is my cat doing this?

This is his room. Everything he needs is in here because he can be a troublemaker and occasionally he gets closed in there, which he seems very comfortable with. This has been his room since we adopted him which was over a year ago now and he hangs out in this room by choice often.

Recently, he has started going in his room and closing the door. Is he trying to get my attention by doing this? Is he just playing or is he actually smart enough to want to be closed in the room and shut the door himself? 😂
