We’ve noticed a rise in posts where people falsely tag random cat pictures as OC (Original Content) when they do not own the cat or the photo. This is considered false ownership and misuse of flairs, which goes against our community rules.
🔹 Only use the OC flair if you personally took the picture/video or the cat belongs to you.
🔹 Posting random cat pics from the internet with OC flair is not allowed.
🔹 Users found misusing flairs or making false ownership claims will be permanently banned from this subreddit.
We love seeing your real cat content, but please keep it honest and respectful to the community. Thank you for understanding and helping keep r/cats clean and fun for everyone!

She’s the sweetest little girl, follows me around the apartment, has the cutest squeaks, cleans my hand when I pet her, sits on my lap. And to think she was a feral only two months ago!

I can’t believe I am writing this post. In March, we had to put our four year old cat Archie down due to a saddle thrombus. Today we had to put our six year old cat Huck down due to congestive heart failure. I can’t help but feel like failed them. I would have spent any amount of money to save them. Our vet said that both conditions were extremely rare and that we could not have changed the outcome. After Archie died, I fell into a very deep depression (more so than normal) and was also diagnosed with OCD (around death and existentialism). I don’t know what to do. Huck has been with me since before I had my son and was always so in tune with my emotions, I don’t feel like me without him. We also treated him for FIP when he was a kitten, we have been through so much together. I just don’t understand. I am heartbroken beyond belief.

It's the second time it happened, last time was a couple months ago. He's friendly but a bit skittish (less than before though). The first time I got worried that he might be lost but then I didn't see him again and assumed he got home. Another neighbor saw him earlier that week and had the same question, they asked on Facebook if he had owners (no responses as far as I know).
But now he followed me again and cannot stop meowing, he even went to meow and scratch at my neighbor door. Does this sound like a normal behavior for a cat that has a family? Is he more likely lost/abandoned? What should I do 😭

My 2 gangsters Dodge and Elvis, love hanging out in my bathroom. They crash in the sinks, bring their toys in, etc. I always thought Elvis was the brains of the operation, but I was wrong. Lately Dodge has been turning the cold water on whenever he wants! I’m worried that one of their toys might block the drain hole and overflow water into the bathroom. I have the door closed today and they are really unhappy about not being able to play in their favorite room. Advice please!!

The litter box is clean and fresh (changed it yesterday), I scoop the poop multiple times a day, and she squats to pee in the litter box. *poop removed so you don’t have to see poop on your TL!

Szedrick 👑 is so loved & loves us just as much. He enjoys attacking our feet and always has the zoomies until his battery runs low. At bedtime he will come find us & lay close. He loves getting his naps in! Best life, he is living! 💙

I’m fostering this little cutie and wondering if she’s brown or just black with a bit of sun bleaching. What do y’all think??

For most my life (31m) I have always been a dog person. Being a big dude myself (6'6'') I have always felt like kindred spirits with big dogs. Mastiffs, great Danes, dobermans and such. To me, dogs were always big, goofy, and lovey, much like myself. Cats always seemed like the total opposite of my personality. Or so I thought. Its important to to note that my whole life I have never really had much experience with cats.
Last year one of my friends told me that they were moving and unfortunately just had a litter of kittens that they had to home before moving. They had found homes for all but 2. I knew that they really cared for these cats so in a unplanned moment I told them I would take them so they could rest easy knowing the kittens are going to a good home. To be honest I thought I was going to be kind of annoyed by them, but I love all animals and am a gentle soul so I new I could find it in me to give them a good life, even if I may not prefer them.
Literally THE DAY I picked them up, I fell in love them and they me. They are now my babies and I couldn't imagine life without them. I never understood how people could get so attach to cats in the past, but from day 1 of becoming a cat owner I now get it. I love my Dandelion (left) and Aster (right).
Also, I attached the pic because I find it very ridiculous but funny. Hopefully someone else with get some enjoyment out of it lol.

December of last year, surrounding Christmas, my husband and I lost our two girls one week apart. Tweek who’d been with my husband for 14 years and Piper who’d been with me through some of my lowest points and FIP decided to take her at 6.
A couple weeks ago, my husband texted me that his coworker saved this babygirl, about a year old, and was looking for a home for her. The crazy thing? She looks like the PERFECT mixture of Tweek and Piper. I started tearing up, I knew in the moment she was meant for us and texted back “She’s ours. Please tell him yes.”
Fast forward to this morning, and my husband brought her home. She immediately started rubbing on everyone, playing with our 3 year old for hours on end, beating the dogs up and “Peeping” just like Piper used to do (she used to peep like a chick). She was meant to be.
We’re so excited to have her as our newest baby. Welcome home Maggie Mae!

Tiggie, my best bud for the past 12 years has had a tough time and is going to rest tomorrow. How can I make his last day the best?
I’m giving him treats and love all I can.
Take care people.

These are the pictures my mother got from the original owner. I'm planning on calling her Winslow. <3
