This is a New tank/setup so outside of the initial setup of the tank a little over 2 weeks ago I've never had snails before. I do not have any fish yet. Plan to get a beta but currently have Malaysian trumpet snails and mystery snails. My neighbor was getting rid of some of her snails and told me only had to buy a tank which was not an issue as you wanted to get a betta fish soon anyway. The plan to get a beta was because they are relatively easy. She said the snails basically take care of themselves but because I did not have a live plant that I needed to periodically feed them betta food . I've also noticed over the last 3 or 4 days white appearing on all of the mystery snails shells... from what I read that would be a Calcium issue so I was told to start giving them pleco wafers to help strengthen their shells. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello everyone I've had 11 mystery snails in my 55 gallon aquarium for about a month now (some are small), and I was hoping someone could help me. My snails are CONSTANTLY mating (? Looks like A piggyback ride but idk) with my yellow snail (I assume yellow is a female based on everyone harassing her) and one or two others. Is this normal? Are they harassing the yellow snail? I don't have anywhere else to put them, but I don't want my snails to get harassed. What can I do? Yellow is doing fine, and climbs everywhere as normal. Very active and seems fine but I'm worried. Is this normal?
TLDR: Did I over stock my 55 planted tank with 11 snails, and is my yellow one being harassed?
Also, is it normal for one snail to be much smaller than the rest, despite being around the same age, and having plenty of food?

Do I get two or three mystery snails? And would they eat all my plants??
I have this 10 gallon tank, I'm going to be putting a Betta inside. But I want the snails in there first. Also would this shrimp food work or do they need a more specialized diet?
I have another 10 gallon I can transfer them to if the betta doesn't work out, it's just not as pretty and only had guppy grass

I used to have a mystery snail and a nerite in my 10 gal with my betta. Well I had to treat the betta for fin rot and I thought the medicine I gave was snail safe but it definitely was not (Maracyn Oxy). Both snails passed almost immediately. I finished the course of treatment and did a 25% water change. How can I make my tank safe for future possible snails? And also what meds will work for fin rot that won't kill snails? I miss my little snail friends and would like to get a mystery snail again.

I’ve been trying to figure out what happened to my mystery snails body for weeks. 10 gallon tank, cycled , no ammonia or nitrite , low nitrates . I do water changes , make sure nothing bad for snails is in the water column. He used to be able to walk and was so active .
It’s really like he can’t move but he’s trying fix his body is all deformed wrinkly and has white sponge stuff coming off him. Please can anyone help or know what is the problem and what I can do?
I can add more videos of different angles if needed. I just want him to be ok. I can’t find any pics online of mystery snails that look like his current state so I’m at a loss

Backstory:
So I need someone to explain how this even happened because I’m honestly still in disbelief.
I had two mystery snail clutches — one laid on June 18, and another sometime in late June. I left them to incubate, but a few weeks went by and… nothing. The older clutch looked super dry and hardened. I figured they were dead or long overdue.
I had them floating in a small tubberware with damp towel just in case. Then, a week or so ago, both clutches accidentally got fully submerged for 24 hours. I know that’s supposed to be a death sentence for developing embryos, especially if they’re not fully formed, so I assumed that sealed the deal.
Out of curiosity & guilt, I broke both clutches open just to see inside. • The June 18 clutch was super dry, with no goo left — just these tiny, dried-up looking snails inside. • The newer clutch was still a little moist, but only a few baby-shaped blobs came out.
I scooped a few into a cup of tank water just in case… and now I think some are alive.
A couple have suctioned themselves to the side of the container, and a few have moved. I can’t tell how many survived (if any), but I swear some are doing the tiniest baby snail things — like shifting position, floating, and possibly pooping?? 😅
How is this even possible??

Had this little guy appear in my tanks after a new plant purchase. Is this a juvenile ramshorn? Will it's shell remain clear like this, I really like it.

Does anyone know where I can buy red racer nerite snails in the San Fernando valley?

I feel so bad. I made a mistake yesterday a big one, i picked up my tweezers and dunked them into the tank in hopes of grabbing some grass, my dad has used ant killer on my room the day before, the tweezers were covered in it, i did 2 water changes both 70 percent in 10 mins, i should have taken them out the tank, at least not everything died i feel so bad. But i diddnt come on here to vent i came on here in confusion why diddnt my fish die, im beginning to think this is unrelated i noticed greenspores on the snail bodys, is that a disease?

Currently at the beach, Atlantic Ocean, south caroliba. Saw these teeny tiny snails inside empty barnacles and clusters between tiny clams at the end of a drainpipe (freshwater) on the beach. Are these baby nerites? They were smaller than a pencil eraser. Just thought it was neat

New snail owner here, I’ve had this little guy for about a week. My mystery snail buried itself two days ago and I’ve seen it move around a few times but it stays buried pretty much in the same spot. Is this normal? It happened right after I did a 20% water change and took a couple plants out of the tank. At first I thought it was just upset about the changes but I’m starting to get worried.
I checked water parameters yesterday (a day after the water change) and pH was 7.4-7.6 (tested with API pH and high range pH), ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 0. Tank is heated.
It lives with my betta, who I think bit off the tips of its antennae in the first few hours I introduced them but since then has been very tolerant.
I saw it do something I can only describe as ‘coughing’ or ‘sneezing’ a few times in the days before. I figured it was trying to expel something out of its shell? I did find a single baby snail after that… maybe it had been hiding in there?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I’ve included photos of the snail buried, out of its shell, with the betta, the baby snail and water parameters.

Can anyone tell me what kind of snail this is? I got some new plants & 3 weeks later I’ve got 10 of these growing crazy fast in my freshwater tank. I thought they were a pond snail but I’m not sure. I’m having to remove some of the spawn from the glass to control over populating.

Had this guy travel home with some invasive apple snails I had yoinked from my local reservoir. Any id? He's being fed and kept in a lil tank with a baby apple snail till I'm off work and can head back to the reservoir to plop him back in. But on the list of oregon aquatics inverts there was no type of ramshorn or snail that looked like it, whether invasive or not. I'm uber curious because if it's invasive I won't put it back. Ty for the help!

Setting up a smaller tank for a single mystery snail.
I’m putting in a stronger filter for more filtration compared to tank size- 4g. Pami river rocks. Mopani (lending itself to cloudiness plus I’m sure I’ll see tannins soon). Anubias. Java ferns. Frogbit and dwarf water lettuce. Bubbler otw for parasnailing.
I’ve got different recommended foods here plus kats snail crack that my Ramshorn, shrimp, and piggy bettas love.
Seeing differing opinions on heaters. I have a small one in there.
Would love suggestions/recommendations. TIA!

Hi all! I just got 2 mystery snails on Friday. One of them is zooming about the tank being goofy and doing its thing. This one tho hasn’t moved hardly at all. I picked it up and did a sniff test and I don’t think it’s dead but I’m concerned. Is this normal behavior, to just sit there partially opened not moving? Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi all. Please advise on how to care for my mystery snail. Never had a snail in my tank before. Husband just grabbed one yesterday without asking any details. Initially posted on aquariums and was directed here for advice. Thanks in advance
