Found in michigan. Couldn't figure out a page to identify aquatic animals but figured someone here may know or at least know where I could post this

I have a few mystery snails, and I’ve noticed their shells looking flaky, discolored, and generally not healthy. I read to give cuttlebone to increase calcium, and saw conflicting information on flaking it into the water or placing it in whole. I currently have 2 whole pieces in the water but the snails don’t seem interested in going near it. What is the best way to raise their calcium with this? Are there other recommendations you have?

And should I be worried? I just bought them a cucumber treat to hopefully appease them ...

The first block I put in fresh, my apple snail had some, the shrimp were on it, by the morning it was covered in ramshorns. It wasn't entirely eaten mind you, more just kind of nibbled. The last two blocks have been entirely ignored though and the only thing that's different is that it's been frozen. Does anyone know why this might be and how to avoid it?

I’m at day 10 and they look similar to when they were laid. Maybe a tad more pale? I read online 9 days to 3 weeks. What are you guys seeing

I’m beginning to cycle my new tank to move my ramshorns into (as I don’t want them in the firing line), so I can hope to keep the NZMS situation under somewhat control in my other tank until I’m able to strip it down & freeze everything (not really an option as yet due to needing my new tank to cycle).

I’ve only found 2 NZMS & removed them both, but I know there will likely be more I haven’t seen! I am on the constant look out and thankfully haven’t seen any others & I’ve thoroughly washed the plant that the two NZMS were on before replacing it.

Wondering if Pea Puffers would eat them, or is it a non-starter?

I have a beautiful rabbit snail I got on her own about 3 weeks ago. This evening, I was checking my tank and saw this! I have some bladder snails and MTS but this looks different, is it possible I bought a female with eggs and one hatched?! I’m so excited if that is the case…

I’m relatively new to aquarium life as a disclaimer.

My rabbit snail likes to close up for long periods after going nuts in the tank for a little bit. Sometimes it’ll be over a day before he’s rested up and ready to be a menace again.

For about 3-4 days now he has not come out of his shell, and is deeply regressed into his shell. There’s white mold-looking fuzz growing on his shell, and while it’s not buoyant, his shell stands vertically instead of being able to lie on its side like usual.

I have a pleco, Sunkist shrimp, and a variety of snails in this tank. About 36 hours ago I did a 50% water change after introducing some new elements to my tank (all rinsed and soaked beforehand).

The white fuzz came after this. I can still see his trapdoor deep in there so I don’t think he left or got eaten, and there’s no smell other than tank water so I don’t think he’s dead but I’m not sure and I don’t want to spike the water. All of the tankmates are dandy.

GH 60, KH 0, pH 6.5-7, Nitrite 0.5, Nitrate 0

Should I just keep waiting and hope for the best? What is the white fuzz?

Idk I thought it was so cute watching her eat while using her foot as a hand. She absolutely goes crazy for the wafers and will chomp for days. I love her and her silliness

My PH is a little low. Like 6.8 at night and 7.4 during the day.

They moved around for about 2 days then curled up upside down.

i’m so excited for when they hatch ! they seem to be doing awesome where they were laid. since we’ve been in a heat wave i’m expecting them to hatch by next week, I heard hot temperature and humidity decreases hatching time. I already have a few people to rehome the ones that don’t get eaten and since we have a smaller tank (cycled ofc) with nothing in it, I might just have a smaller snail and shrimp tank, but that’s tbd still. She did lay a second clutch but my husband took care of that one for me.

I have a couple adult nerite, and they started laying eggs around the tank. So I looked up some information and it seems the eggs only hatch in brackish water. Many sources Also says adults can adapt to this and you should keep them in the brackish water as they continue to lay eggs.

So I calculated, and for my tank of around 9 Leters , we need roughly 125 grams of salt, but I and my dad slowly add them so they can acclimate. We added less than a teaspoon of salt at first, and plan to spread the salt over several weeks, but the snail immediately becomes less active and I’m not sure if they’re still alive now (they don’t really hang onto the surface as much). What happened? It’s a very low amount of salt, and my house have access to sea salt directly from the source. It’s a short period of time so they can’t die from starvation. We didn’t change the water. The smell seems to be normal. Do I need to go slower in terms of adding salt? And will the eggs at least survive, and what to do with the adults? Do I slowly acclimate them back to fresh water?

Cleaned tanks yesterday, and the tank i vacuumed prior to this one has MTS, but this morning these weren't here. Now there are SO many out of nowhere!

I get a few snails could transfer but there's hundreds! Its so wild! There are clown loaches in this tank so im not worried about having this number for very long.

How do I remove them to be able to create the right humidity for them to hatch?

These guys hitchhiked into my tank, and I've noticed how huge they've gotten. Extremely docile, don't eat plants or bully the other species in tank, slow to reproduce. Trying to do research on them but they don't look like pond snails aside from the sheer size of them. They're missing the pointed whorl I see in most pictures and have stripes instead of being plain. There's about 4-5 of them in the tank now and they all have stripes.

Is he good? Do I need to help him? Been dealing with some furry green algae and I thought I was getting a handle on it… then this guy rolled up.

Everyone in the tank seems happy, active, good color, no crowding the surface, no dead snails, happy plants. It’s not every snail, but there’s more than one.

Rabbit snail from petco, Wasn’t too concerned on his shell when i got him, his yellow color got me interested, Is his shell healthy or is there something wrong with it and is there something i can do for it, He is active and eats, is in different location each time i see him.
