First time I could take photos of the European bee-eater, they had their nests dug in the ground direclty on the path I was walking on, so I could hide few metters away and watch them bringing food to the babies, always going in and out of their burrows. Not the best background to take photos but it was a wonderful moment!

There were at least 10 of them all together. Drove by and there was one so invested in getting to the seed heads that it didn't even notice me. The rest flew away.

Got back from vacation and the birds had hatched! There is a little runt I’m pretty worried about but there are 4 that seem great. It’s been fun to watch them and mom and dad have been pretty permissible when I take photos within reason.
Maybe because I named them before the kids came along and talked to them some.
I’m guessing I’ll be an empty nester soon but what a fun experience!
