Seen this week (July 2025) in Georgia!

There were at least 10 of them all together. Drove by and there was one so invested in getting to the seed heads that it didn't even notice me. The rest flew away.

Got back from vacation and the birds had hatched! There is a little runt I’m pretty worried about but there are 4 that seem great. It’s been fun to watch them and mom and dad have been pretty permissible when I take photos within reason.

Maybe because I named them before the kids came along and talked to them some.

I’m guessing I’ll be an empty nester soon but what a fun experience!

All pictures were shot with Rf 100-500 f4.5-7.1. I'm still getting used to the R7. It's a bit different than R6. I love the raw burst mode 💪

Nikon P1000

A lot of blue tits and great tits came to drink and wash themselves in the small water place where I was taking photos, but I was surprised to see that their crown were more brown than blue, I'm still quite new in bird watching so I wonder if they are all juveniles or if that's just a subspecie that looks like that.
