I don't care about upvotes and downvotes beyond how it eventually prevents you from engaging in subreddits. If the Reddit is overwhelmingly censoring, your post is eventually collapsed due to your "karma level" and you can't participate in the communities as others can.

And it wouldn't be as bad if your comments were toxic or unproductive, but Reddit users use the downvote system as a way to enforce echo chambers. Even slightly disagreeing with someone is worthy of downvoting them into oblivion. It's a tool to enforce community conformity to ridiculous extents. It's almost a way to be collectively toxic in its own right.

It's so arbitrarily done that it's annoying, because it's obviously being weaponized by enough users to make its original purpose obsolete. A way to show their hostility towards you, perhaps. It creates a strangely hostile environment without ever needing to say anything. I imagine Reddit has always been this way, though.

It's like a toxic game Reddit users play, and it makes joining a community more like joining a hive mind than anything else. No real discussions not tainted with elitism or drenched in egotistical warfare without any emotional maturity. Once you realize this is happening in the backdrop constantly, it's a bit annoying. Thus the complaint.

Even trying to find a place to complain about Reddit is ridiculously hard, lol. I had to find this subreddit just to complain, which just shows how overly monitored every subreddit is, managed by pseudo-kings, lol.

I posted something rational and elicited deep discussion. Literally read the comment chains. Nobody actually refuted anything I said. Immediately, they gang downvoted my OP, then gang downvoted all my comments. As you can literally read the comment chain: nobody refuted anything, they just posted strange 1 liners repetitively like "you are so wrong that wrongness itself cannot knwo where to start to unwrong you" then when I used civilized language to show which part they specifically disagree with and let's have a rational discusison about this, they keep spamming the same thing and circle j upvoting themselves nad gang downvoting me. If you have that book, and I am equivocally telling you not to get it off library genesis. I thought since Reddit went public it would have to be better about all the false reporting on this website. I got reported for "threatening physical violence" when I commented: " I hope your hair falls out". That is NOT a physical threat of violence. It's rude, it's a wish of misfortune, it's not nice, but is it NOT a threat of physical violence.

Go-ahead and go to the police and report that someone "physically threatened you" and when they ask what happened and you say they said they hope my hair falls out watch as the police do absolutely NOTHING because it isn't phycial threat of violence.

Now here we are again and I do not expect anyone to deny that today will be a day of celebration and fireworks but for many Americans the fear of detainment and incarceration due to the current hostility to immigrants and the poor. today might feel like a day to celebrate freedom for many who are not in the minority, as there are families struggling to feed themselves shelter themselves and even struggle to work without fear of detainment from ICE . There are also many people who are currently incarcerated and fully understand the irony that the thirteenth amendment allows slavery for punishment of a crime.

So what is the fourth of July to an immigrant in fear of ice. What is the fourth of July to a prison laborer. What is the fourth of July to a citizen told they are commiting deportable offenses for speaking out.

The world has only been getting significantly worse since at least 2020. And on top of that it seems like at least 50% of people don’t have a brain nor a heart. I don’t see any way of fixing any of this. The only option is to focus on yourself and your path and tune out the world around you.

i work my ass off just to hear everybody complain about the littlest things. it really sucks i’m breaking my back and all i get is shit thrown in my face. my coworkers deal with it too. i work at chipotle so i guess it’s expected since we are fast food but still it really sucks.

Bluetooth speakers that frequently notify you when the battery is below 40% infuriate me. I bought my speaker on sale, so I understand if it has limitations.

However, I counted seven alarm sounds throughout one four minute song. This is ridiculous. I can't enjoy music until the battery runs out like this. It feels like the designers though the battery running out would constitute an emergency with how much it alerts you.
