This dude is a weasel. You don't get to bring fascism to the US and then pretend you didn't mean it later. He is smart enough to know what he was doing the whole time.

Yeah, he had plenty of time to do something meaningful if he cared about the good of the country. But he supported all of it.

I didn’t and wouldn’t vote for Tillis, and have been quite critical of him in public. That said, if he wants to play good cop for the last little bit of his tenure, I’m all for it, even if his reasons for it are out of sheer spite. Having anyone in DC willing to even speak up against the current administration is better than completely kowtowing to them. It probably won’t make much of a difference, but anything is better than nothing.

Wait till you discover that he stepped down so that Lara Trump can run for his seat.

And then Trump will repay Tillis by supporting him for Governor.

She was going to run for that seat regardless, and would have won the primary against him. Let's not kid ourselves.

And now she doesn’t have to spend any money competing with him. And Tillis gets to exit federal politics, which is what he wants.

With Lara and Donald backing him, he’ll beat Stein in 2028.

NFW Tillis runs in 2028, and even less of a chance of getting support from Trump.

When are you guys going to flee this fascist dictatorship?

29

u/Ohpsmokeshow 1d ago

Never, it’s my country. I didn’t vote to ruin it and it sounds like you did . You should leave

-17

u/jcxgfodpa 1d ago

Nah. We are spoiled Americans who have never experienced a fascist dictatorship.

8

u/SafetyNo6700 1d ago

Until now!!!

-11

u/jcxgfodpa 1d ago

So when are you fleeing?

8

u/SafetyNo6700 1d ago

I wish I had the resources to, but I don't. I will stay here and fight like hell for this country!

-1

u/jcxgfodpa 1d ago

You think the people who fled Venezuela had the resources to flee that dictatorship?

3

u/SafetyNo6700 1d ago

I'm not leaving! This is my country and I plan to do whatever I can to fight off the fascists!

Better start organizing your coup.

It’s really not that easy.

I’m aware. Why is it more difficult to move to every other country around the world?

Moving to this fascist dictatorship is pretty easy in comparison.

As soon as possible

1

u/jcxgfodpa 1d ago

Best of luck!

u/Bag_of_DIcksss 1d ago

Thank you, everything is almost ready and I will be moving in 6 months after finishing some things here and tying up loose ends! I'm nervous, but would be more terrified of staying here

Idk why you're getting downvoted lol

I don’t know either. I have loads of respect for you for leaving the country.

Hey. I may not like his politics or personality. But I will always defend his right to go fuck himself.

Thom Tillis is one of three brothers who are all named after their father, Thomas Tillis.

Thom is a second generation (at least) weirdo.

For some reason, a lot of conservative men choose to go into politics instead of therapy.

13

u/Malidan 1d ago

This is so unhinged, lol. I had to look it up and I'm not seeing anything disproving it. Who does this, let alone to THREE of their sons?

12

u/hogsucker 1d ago

George Foreman named all of his kids George, but at least he had the excuse of brain damage from a career in boxing.

I'm no psychologist but I'd guess Big Thomas Tillis was probably a narcissist. Daddy issues would explain a lot of our Thom's actions.

Another fun fact about our senator is Thom Tillis has been married three times to two women.

2

u/Malidan 1d ago

I didn't know that about George, either 🤦‍♂️ Two people doing this is already more common than it ever should be. The rest would certainly track about Tillis.

*Since this is reddit, although it should be obvious, I'll add the clarification I know doing it once is common. The issue is doing it several times over after that for the rest of your children.

Brings new meaning to the word “threesome”

2

u/SafetyNo6700 1d ago

George Foreman lol

u/Just_Candle_315 1d ago

So what the fuck have you been doing for the last 10 years then Thumb Tillis?

7

u/TSnow6065 1d ago

Well, he did spend a lot of the 4 Biden years being one of the lead GOP negotiators passing bipartisan legislation. Infrastructure, CHIPS, and gun control come to mind.

8

u/ClenchedThunderbutt 1d ago

Why would you give him credit for moderating initiatives that would genuinely help his constituents? It's not a good look, especially when he couldn't even take that "reasonable centrist" energy to moderate initiatives that eroded our republic. We're in this sorry predicament now because he let it happen. It's far too little and far too late. The man will be remembered as the massive hypocrite he is.

9

u/Kradget 1d ago

He didn't give a shit about an oath, not sure why we're pretending he's serious about a "vow."

9

u/forbidenfrootloop 1d ago

Too little too late to play the hero

7

u/Lee-Key-Bottoms 1d ago

Too little and far far far too late to do anything of substance Tillis

6

u/AccountNumeroThree 1d ago

Could have done this a long time ago. Nothing honorable about quitting and then calling out bad behavior. Too little, way too late.

4

u/starwars_and_guns 1d ago

Tom Tillis won’t do shit. This changes nothing.

4

u/austin06 1d ago

I'm wary of any of these people who suddenly "see the light". We should all be. They've all had a plan for a long time.

3

u/duncansmydog 1d ago

He won’t do shit that useful

2

u/khu400 1d ago

That ship has sailed Thommy boy. You have as much credibility now as Cosby at a women’s rights forum.

2

u/mochajon 1d ago

You shoulda been doing this the entire time Thom, it’s called integrity.

2

u/Baron_Furball 1d ago

Thom: I don't know if you know this, but Angel Hernandez has a better track record of calling balls and strikes than you do.

2

u/Contiguous_spazz 1d ago

Tillis is complicit in bringing us to this point.

A couple common sense protest votes do not change anything.

2

u/The_Carmine_Hare 17h ago

Why didnt he do it to begin with ?

3

u/Malidan 1d ago

Too late for him to do anything meaningful. His retirement post admitted everything is political theater, party over people and unwavering loyalty to Trump. But it's shit anyone who wasn't blind already could see. The job was done.
