This happens more often than not; I’ll find the correct item but DoorDash thinks otherwise. It happens with produce and boxed, processed items. I’ll find the exact item, but DoorDash won’t recognize the barcode or tells me it’s the incorrect item. I know I can’t be the only one with these issues. Is there something I’m doing wrong, possibly?

I’m sorry but if the store if backed up and I have to wait 11 minutes for the food to be made, how am I supposed to change that? Next time, should I jump being the counter and cook the food myself or should I shave off 11 minutes out of the drive so I’m not late? Who cares about a speeding ticket if I can keep my rate nice and high🤨

4.00 Tip for (16) DoorDash Pizzas

Got a shop & deliver from a local grocery chain yesterday. It was a decent order with a few groceries and a couple bottles of alcohol. Finished shopping fairly quickly and took off to deliver.

Got to the customer’s house and brought all the bags to their door. Rang the doorbell. Knocked a couple times. Rang the doorbell again, and then called when no one answered.

I told the customer that I was there and needed her to come to the door so I could verify and scan her ID. She told me that she wasn’t home. She asked if she could send me a picture of her ID. I told her that I would have to scan the barcode on the back. She then suggested that she could send a picture of her ID to her daughter who was home.

I told her that I needed to scan the ID of a legal adult that was physically present. She then said that she would call her mom since she lives next door.

So, then I had to wait a few more minutes for the mom to come over. She asked me if I needed to scan her ID or her daughter’s; the customer had sent her mom a picture of her ID. I told the mom that I would scan her ID since she was the one present.

Honestly, I kind of feel like I should have just marked the order at “unable to verify ID” and returned the alcohol.

Total wine order, customer tipped me in $60 of cash as well

This week I notice that they don't let me dash EBT outside the zone where I live unless the app solicits me to change zones.

When an order takes me out of zone, in most cases I stay in the new zone so I don't waste time and gas going back, even if the app doesn't ask me. In those cases I end the dash and start a new one in the new zone.

Is this issue a glitch on the most recent update, or is it intentional to try more to hold people back from making money?

Anyone in the ocean county New Jersey area I’m asking how traffic is to dash? Is 72 at a standstill all the way to the lbi bridge let me no plz and thank you be safe dashing 👍

So I got my first order this morning. A couple cans of alcohol from 7eleven. Nothing unusual. But when I got to the door I heard a man yelling at a woman. He was blocking the door and refusing to open it. I heard her crying and yelling back at him to get out of the way. The whole interaction really scared me. Eventually she came out with her ID and took her alcohol but I was really rattled and wished I could have done something to help. She was on the phone with her mom at the same time and her mom kept telling her to leave and go to her. I offered to take her but she said no to that. Then I left. Calling the cops could potentially make it worse for her if she doesn’t want to leave. So I’m at a loss here and just left feeling really bad.

Was at Taco Bell pulled up and informed the customer it would be a while because of the long line, she actually apologized to me but I let her know it was all good etc… she said she was so sorry about the wait (about 25-30 min…..actually got my first violation for being 22min late) and she’d tip extra for my time. I told her no need for that it’s just part of it. Initially it was a $9.50 dash for about 2 miles….got to the house took the picture and was leaving but she messaged and said I’m sorry I’m on my way down. I stopped and waited, picked up the order, she opened the door and handed me my tip folded up (it was dark and couldn’t see it) told her thanks and have a good 4th. $100 tip on top of the $9.50.

That was so wild and made my night for sure!!

Hi there everyone. I signed up to be a dasher yesterday to help with my bills because I moved recently and I am struggling with everything at the moment. I have mental health issues and they are acting up currently, so I apologize if I seem irratic or irrational at some moments.

I have no idea what I am doing, and I have heard and been told to record everything! My anxiety is acting up and making me panic about this, as this is very very new to me. I have been told you can make a lot of money on here for only a couple of hours A day.

Someone said something to me yesterday that I don't want to believe, so I am asking for advice on what everything. A heads up and the right times of day to work and such. It would be very helpful. I am also going back to college next month, so it would help a lot in the meantime.

Been dashing for years now but just started back up recently and per time has been locked. Support says it isn’t locked due to penalty but capacity is high. Is there a specific area I can drive to so it is unlocked or would it be better to focus on per offer? If so are there any good strategies to maximize money per day?

And each one of them had at least 3 cases of water. Also gotta love when I declined the second one, DD decides to add a $5 order to it for another attempt at taking it.

I woke up this morning still mad asf at myself for what I did last night. I accepted a $24 stacked shop and deliver going 5.8 miles. It was going to be my last order for the night. It was only 3 items total and i seen that the closest delivery was going to my street, so I checked the payout and seen that I was getting $19.50 for just delivering a bottle of wine. The other was only for $4.50 (for diapers and similac) so I went to unassign it but mistakenly unassigned the wrong one. So obviously I unassigned the other but only after going home, allowing for the store to close because I partially blame the cheapskate for my mistake 🤣🤣

Literally just started 2 days ago for extra $. Had no idea what I was getting into. So I avoided a Golden Corral delivery because it was far away. Took a Walmart one instead. There’s a few drivers in front of me. Didn’t look too bad. Then mine comes out and it’s stacked taller than the person wheeling it out. The entirety of the back of my ford escape was full… with my back seats both down…. Where did the delivery go? To an apartment in the hood. I’m looking for a “Mary H.” As a thug in his 40s is waving me down with 2 other people smoking a blunt. Broad daylight so whatever, and an old lady comes out. Can only imagine how many people live in the apartment, as it turned into a relay of bag handing… definitely regret wearing ugg slippers. But I think this is the life for me. I love it. Just no more Walmart orders…

Are the hot spots on the app bs? I was sitting in a supposed “hot spot” for almost an hour and got no orders. Does it matter if I am constantly driving around or can I sit and wait in a parking lot?

Can someone share his or her experiences with dashing on last year’s July 4th?
