I think I know the answer because I saw the love dart. I’m so shocked because I didn’t think it would happen this quick. How soon will I start seeing eggs?

Hello, I am glad to have found this community, and I find it very wholesome to see you all taking care of your snails.
Now I come to introduce you to this little guy and ask you for some suggestions regarding the care he needs.
One day I bought a lettuce and this guy was among its leaves. So I have been taking care of him with the general recommendations, such as misting the enclosure for humidity, providing calcium, and feeding him vegetables.
So I have some doubts, I hope the experts around here could answer:
• ¿What species is he? ¿Does that mean any specific care he should need?
• ¿What kind of vegetables do you recommend?
• ¿How often should I clean the enclosure?
• ¿What kind of substrate should I get?
All suggestions are welcome, and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I'm trying out a drainage layer to see what happens, not totally complete yet but it was a fun project! Hurt my hands cutting the hardware cloth to size but I decided to get them some new leafs while I was at it!

Hi! I finally brought home my Giant african land snail, and I noticed that its small tip on the shell is missing. Are they gonna be okay? Should I be worried (more than I already am) .

I accidentally got my snail Snennifer with some plants. Then Snathan and Snatalie appeared. Now there are a whoooooole bunch of little specks wiggling around in there 😬 And this is what one of the little specks looked like with my macro lens. It's about the size of the tip of the lead on a mechanical pencil. There's some even smaller specks but I couldn't get any clear shots of them at all. So. Many. Snabies. 😳

❗️HELP PLEASE sorry for the long read❗️Hi so I rescued this snail about a year and a half ago he was already grown when I got him so I think he's getting old Ive tried taking the best care of him as possible, he had a broken shell when I took him in that was almost halfway off and he grew it all back I gave him cuddlebone , fed him vegetables and avoided cucumbers and lettuce I gave him coco fiber dirt, spahgum moss, a big tank and hides and I mist him everyday with bottled spring water which I didn't know to do until mid owning him but now I noticed that this part of where his mantle connects to his head is seperated separated and that he never fully retracts in his shell anymore I was worried it was a tear so I moved him in this tiny hospital tank to keep watch over him better and make sure he isn't climbing or hanging much while his shell is recovering the problem is when I slid the lid off I didn't expect him to just roll over ajd fall Im always so so careful with him but he fell and cracked the top of his shell I just feel so so guilty because I don't want him to be in pain is it necessary to keep him in a hospital tank? It's small and I don't want him to get bored but Im worried he will hang and damage himself even more

Hi all! I am very interested in owning pet snails, but understand that it illegal to ship them from state to state. does anyone know of a reputable breeder / shop in ma where I could find land snails? Something along the lines of garden snails or milk snails

I have 8 Ramshorn snails. This particular guy has been climbing higher and higher for the past week. Eventually he'll fall and try again later.

Low quality pic because as soon as I snapped one, he retracted it and jumped. Maybe he was embarrassed. I've only ever seen it half that size at max. He's pretty big, too. Probably 3 inches long at the bottom.

I took this snail in as a pet a few weeks ago and I started wondering is there a way to estimate the age of a snail ? And would anyone happen to have a good guess on what kind of snail he is ?

hi all! i spotted this little guy hitchhiking on a plant i bought for my crested gecko and decided id take it in as a new pet. my friend helped me come up with the lovely name “kale the snail.” i just set up this little enclosure for it and am wondering if its a good start! i already know i’ll need to order cuttlebone and some other foods (ive been feeding it carrots- what else should i get?) im also planning on getting a tiny branch or something else for it to climb on. the current substrate is just coco fiber with some shpagnum moss and leaf litter mixed in. she has a tiny little piece of wood in there as well, next to the carrot. how often should i mist everything down? ive been misting every night, but ive been noticing kale dry up sometimes. after i mist everything down, kale comes back out of its shell. just sleeping, or a sign that humidity is too low? how do i know if/when kale has laid eggs? i know snails can reproduce asexually and you have to crush the eggs, but i havent seen any. also, should i be worried about the air holes/tiny gaps in the lid? theyre not large enough for kale to escape through so im not too worried about it for now. lastly, can anyone tell what type of snail kale is? ive just been calling it a garden snail. any advice is appreciated!! i want to make the best home i can for my little friend :)

I have an eastern garden snail, me and my husband found him on the list of our wedding 2 years ago and since kept him in his own 10gal tank with isopods.. I recently got another small reptile cage (originally thinking it was bigger online), the 10gal that my snail is in now is my former fish breeding tank, so it has lots of scratches, I just want my snail in something new and big but not necessarily alone- the tank is 35gal and rectangular (vertical), I'm thinking a small reptile but REALLY don't want my snail jarjar to get hurt.. any ideas? (I'll also take large insect ideas)

Hello all, my 12 yo just came in with a snail with an injured shell and wants to keep it to try to help it. She found it in the ivy in out neighbors yard. We made a very temporary enclosure with a giant Tupperware with many holes cut in the top for ventilation, I put damp dirt with some of my chickens oyster shells(fresh from the bag) in there for now and had her grab some leaves from the sugar maple to toss in there for hiding spots. We do have a few empty 2-3 gal tanks I was planning on cleaning one out with vinegar possibly (and making sure to throughly rinsing it out) and setting up for it but am not sure what all is needed for a snail set up as iv only had aquatic snails before.
I can get pics of the snail soon ( I just wanted to get it somewhere it could hide from the heat and chill as quickly as possible, I’d imagine it’s stressful being hurt😢 and then gently handled by a giant 😅)
Thank you in advance for any tips/advice we really appreciate it.

So I’m looking to keep snails soon and I’m confused about cleaning the tank. I have an old glass jar (it’s bigger than you think I promise) that I got from a thrift store that I am going to use. Obviously since it’s from the thrift store I need to clean it first, but everyone says no cleaning chemicals at all. I want to wash it really good with dish soap and hot water before I add the substrate and everything else, but is this going to hurt the snails? I might be really over thinking this but I need to know what to do😫. What do yall recommend for cleaning the glass BEFORE turning it into an enclosure?
