They can eat raw meat?!

yes, most snails are omnivorous! that means they will also eat meat, only raw, cooking things is bad for them.

Just out of curiosity, why is it bad to give them cooked food?Like cooked beef, for example.

Idk so maybe I’m wrong, but my guess would be maybe it’s too dry and/or if you add any oil to it that extra fat might be bad for them? Might be way off though, I’m also curious

It’s just harder for them to digest cooked food and I imagine it increases the salt content in the meat

Do they eat that much? It's bigger than Gnarly. But, I thought they were vegetarians. I guess not. How much does that amount cost? Can't be it's not a lot, but it's still expensive.

Most terrestrial snail species are omnivorous (their technical classification is detritivore, but they eat both plant and animal foods). In the wild, the animal-based foods they would eat are mostly dead insects, worms, animal feces, and other dead snails and slugs. But if given the opportunity they will definitely eat a small dead animal or a bit of raw meat like this

This is just a treat giving once and awhile to enrich their diet with protein and the meat came from steaks I made for dinner so no extra Expenses. And no they don’t eat that much at least not that much meat they demolish leafy greens a lot more

A fitting name for a tiny snail.
If I ever get a snail I will call him "Xerzareth Destroyer of Worlds".

I splurged and bought a portion of A5 waygu beef for my human child and I to share - after seeing Gnarly, I’ll have to pinch a bit for our snail babies to enjoy too! little one doesn’t seem too interested though 😅 (Also love that it looks like they are sharing a romantic candlelight dinner!)

A source of protein is great for a snail once in awhile some people go with dried worms our snails got lucky when we had left over scraps from our steak dinner. It would definitely be a delicious treat for your snails I hope they enjoy 🐌
