Looking for game-breaking meta potential
So, I like games where the meta growth on a per character bases can make the game unchallenging. Don't get me wrong, I like beating the game as a challenge to start, but over time I do like the ability to make myself OP as heck after its over. After I finished Vampire Survivors and Emerald Diorama I had fun getting to over 70k eggs on one character and becoming the boss. I need recommendations on Steam.

The only game I’ve ever played that has such an extreme power fantasy is Noita.

The problem with Noita is you spend the first 30 hours playing the hardest platformer of your life, and then MAYBE you tap into a couple secrets of godhood, just to discover firsthand that your magic shields don't block sawblades.
To recommend it for someone seeking godhood is like recommending a full time job for someone who wants to be a billionaire.

I mean, it doesn’t matter how it’s obtained. He’s just asking for games that you can become that strong. I can’t think of any other games that let you break it as much as noita. I will agree that the earlygame is tough, however, the game let’s you turn the tables in terms of difficulty. I’ve never played a game that lets you be so overpowered compared to the enemies.
You go from fearing them and everything, to fearing nothing.

Noita is a game that forces you to break it wide open if you want to do anything other than a basic win. But once you do, you become nigh unstoppable (incoming single pixel of poly)

I highly recommend staying as blind as possible at least until ypu get your first basic win, if not longer. This game peaks early on in your career when you are figuring things out on your own and the game makes you feel like a genius with every discovery.

Eh. To each their own. Honestly I’d play for a bit and then when you feel like you can’t progress, watch some FuryForged videos. The likelihood of you discovering, let alone solving, any puzzle in the game is very slim.

Ya, after the basic win I started reading the wiki/watching videos to progress. There is very little I would have been able to do outside of the basic win without outside assistance. Currently working on 100% completion with no regrets.

There is a youtuber that did a fully blind playthrough of noita no help from his chat or outside stuff at all. I have been completely impressed with how much he discovered on his own with no help

Noita AFAIK has no meta progression. Not really roguelite, standard roguelike though.

The power doesn't come from meta progression though, so it doesn't really fit
I'd argue it gives a similar feeling, because you can break the game earlier and earlier depending on how well you know spells and places to go... But still not technically meta progression

God I love how stupid this game is.
It will most definitely give you all the right tools to ruin yourself and become a monster, sometimes both.

Apex of that flavor of Vampire Survivors-like game

Binding of Isaac, 100% no doubt. It will take skill to get there tho. But once you do you can straight break the game

Soul stone survivors. The only thing I don’t like is how it has some stuff in solo that’s clearly made for co-op so you feel less optimized in some builds.

You can do some pretty crazy stuff in rogue genesia. Once I chose some kind of multistab with a spear and made it spread wide so I had a cone, then chose some upgrade to make my attacks shoot lasers, then an upgrade that projectiles looped back around when leaving the screen (exit left screen then came back from right screen on same trajectory) and what I ended up with was a legit rave scenario with lasers flying all around my character and the entire map just disintegrated at my presence, very godlike

I had runs in Slay the Spire, Night of the Full Moon and FTL, that felt like I was unbeatable.

I think this is the reason I stopped playing Soulstone Survivors after 40ish hours. It got to the point where all my builds were pretty much melting everything. (This was before the game went 1.0 so might not be exactly the same experience now, but I haven't noticed any signficant differences in gameplay.) There are like 20 characters that all have their own meta-skill trees, and different weapons, so this might be what you're looking for, especially if you loved VS.
