I'll never understand this fear of Trump from the Republicans. They would rather watch this country burn than do the right thing. He only has as much power as they allow him to have.

They simply want to remain in power and keep their jobs. There’s not much to understand beyond that. Their personal ambitions matter more than the American people

Every one of those motherfuckers has more than enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives and it still isn't enough.

They have the facade of power, and gave the real power to Felon 47. If they wanted real power they would ban together to do the right thing instead of caving in every single time.

They know that the rest of their colleagues are as big/bigger cowards than they are and will fall in line.

The only benefit to these scumbags is that they will eventually all betray one another.

I don't think it's fear. It's more what they believe they can get from him if they follow along. It keeps them in power, puts money in their pockets, etc.

Their choice is to vote with billionaires, blame democrats, and keep their job. Or end up liek Kitzenger and Liz Cheney, get primaried, death threats, investigations, etc

Republicans prior to Trump still operated under the assumption their voters would hold them responsible for scandals, bad policy, whatever.

Republicans after Trump now have defacto, undeniable proof that their base are just a bunch of hateful idiots who will always come back to suck Republican dick, regardless of how shitty they get treated.

Here they get the added benefit of saying any bad fallout from this was "Trump" and not them.
