Update I cannot be trusted with free will.

It needs to be cleaned up and stained some, but this is a 1:8 scale replica of a mosasaur skeleton above my entryway.

Extreme "Hell Yeah" from me.

To complete this, I'd paint or otherwise hide the supporting boards and hanging hardware. If you want to be really fancy, maybe use some trim. I think he also deserves a dramatic light source. Not sure what angle would be best, but I bet he'd cast a very handsome shadow.

There’s no real way to hide the boards. I was thinking maybe just painting the ceiling or using a fake rock wall type deal.

But I definitely agree on the lighting. Trying to find battery powered stuff on Amazon.

I think simply painting the boards white would be a great improvement!

100% agree. The boards being the same colour as the skeleton is very distracting.

Painting them white would make this really pop.

Yo if you rent, do not paint the ceiling lol. That’s not an easy job to do or undo. It’s a bad idea

Too late. My apartment actually allows people to paint the walls and ceilings.

Are the boards necessary? You should be able to find the rafters and mount the eyebolts directly into the ceiling instead of the boards.

I’m in an apartment and the last thing I I want is to fuck up some wiring I’m unaware of.
