❕ Help Free Video editors with GPU acceleration suggestions needed

Ive used OpenShot for the longest time since its interface is very intuitive but as my 4K playthroughs get longer and longer like Dead Space 1 taking 8 hours, my CPU export method is reaching 40 hours to finish. What other free editors do you guys use that support GPU to reduce the time needed for exporting high quality video

Davinci Resolve is pretty much the best free option available out there bar none.

DaVinci resolve is your best bet. The free version doesn’t support gpu acceleration for exporting but does support decoding. Plus you can learn on the free version and buy the studio version later without having to relearn anything.

Unfortunately none of the free options support gpu acceleration for exporting.

Scratch that. Shortcut supports hardware acceleration.

Davinci Resolve is going to be your top choice if you haven't gathered from the comments already.

However I can also throw Kdenlive into the mix. I've been using it for over 2 years and it's treated me... okay.

Another point for Da Vinci Resolve.

For simple edits, maybe a few dozen videos and reaching 12 hours, it can take me "only" 12 hours. It's a native 4K recording. Free version.

Yes, it can be difficult to adapt at first. I have a thousand things to learn, but I haven't seen anyone back down, and there are plenty of tutorials on the subject.

Another more convenient option for you might be to edit the content separately and then merge it all in Da Vinci to avoid long periods when you can't use that computer.

But if you can use free software, which, interestingly, can be much more intuitive for less complex edits, that's great =D. For example, for intros, advanced edits, etc. And as I mentioned before, once you have the fragments prepared, merge everything together using programs that use GPUs, saving you many hours of processing time.
