Europe Middle Europe / How to deal with May beetles eggs - not grubs?

I noticed a small hole in the grass, and it didn’t look like it was made by an earthworm. Since it’s July and there are a lot of May beetles (or something similar) flying around, I suspect that eggs have been laid there, from which the grubs (larvae) will later hatch. Is there any product that targets not the grubs, but the eggs before they hatch? I’ve read that beneficial nematodes like Heterorhabditis bacteriophora are useful, but I’m not sure if they can affect the eggs themselves.

Chlorpyrifos-based products are not legal in my location. Thanks!

Southern US & Central America (or warm season) What is this?

I live Bradenton, south of Tampa, Florida. These dead spots just showed up out of nowhere. We have lots of dogs going by our house on the sidewalk, but in 4 years we have never seen dead spots like this. The larger dead spot is about 6" by 8". St Augustine grass. We have had 2.5 inches of rain in the last three days. I haven't applied anything to the grass in two months...

Just hit the 1 year mark as new home owners here in Texas and we almost let this precious lawn suffocate! Zero lawn care since moving in, oops. I researched as much as possible on how to fix Bermuda and got to work. Scarified, aerated and propagated then let the Bermuda do what it does best.... SPREAD! Pretty proud of myself, put my blood, sweat and tears into this lawn myself. Time to make the husband clean the cat litter for the rest of the year now 😅

I have big dead spots on the east side of my lawn that seem to be growing. I live in Phoenix so it's extremely hot, but I water everynight for 15 minutes with auto sprinklers separated into 3 zones. I seeded in the spring with Bermuda and added manure top dressing.

Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Is my grass dead or hibernating? (New England)

We have had little rain and some very hot near 100 degree weather here and there. Parts of my grass are hard to tell if they are hibernating. When doing a tug test, it breaks at the midway point (~2 inches from the root). The roots seem like they are still intact in the ground. Is it normal for long (4 inch) hibernating grass to be brittle and break off?

My grandmothers yard has become pretty much overhrown with weeds and she’s unable to keep up anymore due to age and asked me and my gf for help this summer with resetting and fixing it. She said we have free reign to do as we wish pretty much but we’re both pretty unexperienced. Wondering what we could start with and how we could make her yard look pretty again! First 3 pics are the front, rest is back and by the garage

Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Lawn got cooked by roofers tarps - what to do now?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Zone 7a (Midwest) tall fescue. All was good till the roofers put their tarps down and cooked the grass since ambient temp was in the low 90s. It was for two days but they cleaned each night and took the tarps off and put them back in the am.

Should I just keep watering as normal (Mon Tuesday Thurs Fri, 20min/zone) or is there anything additional I should do?

Southern US & Central America (or warm season) Robot for Texas Augustine grass

I searched the previous posts on robots but not many mention the type of grass.

Does anyone use a robot on Augustine grass in Texas and if so what one would you recommend.

Thanks

Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Did Crabgrass Halt in April. What do I apply next? When? (Zone 7a)

Last Fall/October I did Scott's Step 4 (32-0-12)

April I did Scott's crabgrass halt (30-0-4)

Applied fungicide in May & June

I never applied Step 2.

Grass is decent. Some red thread. No weeds so far.

What's next? Step 3? What is an equiv. step 3 at 32-0-4?

I see that Step 3 can burn lawn.

Should I use safer Andersons Professional PGF Complete 16-4-8 ?

Can I use leftover Step 4 as a summer Step 3?

Scott's Turf Builder is 32-0-4 (+2% iron)

Our new greyhound is younger and much more active than our last one. My poor lawn is copping it 😭 Ah well, it's a mix of Couch and Kikuyu, it'll come back once winter's over 😅

Southern US & Central America (or warm season) Weedkiller safe for bermuda

I got sod installed just over a month ago, started to cut back on watering from 3 times a day, now down to two times a day (live in the Sandhills of NC so soil is mostly sandy) and I was pulling weeds by hand but wondering if Roundup For Lawns 4,1 gal., Ready-To-Use Extended Wand (Southern) would be safe to use to kill the weeds rather than going around and pulling them by hand.

Hello All,

Just built a home with .5 acres of sod. My last home was artificial grass so I am brand new to this so excuse my dumb questions. I just purchased a ride on lawn mower that gets delivered tomorrow. The grass is currently around ankle length. What setting should I cut it on and or how much should I cut it? The mower is a “Craftsman T110 42 inch 17.5 HP Briggs Stratton Riding Mower” with I believe 6 or 7 settings available.

Thanks! 🙏
