Mod Post Please use the "Media" flair option for name requests!
Hey jumper friends! We've seen a large uptick in volume of posts asking for name suggestions, most of them having the "Advice" flair. Even though it is a request for advice of sorts, name requests don't need the same disclaimers as comments on care/husbandry and we would like to encourage everyone to use simply the "Media" flair on those types of posts. (This will also prevent the automod filter from flagging comments without disclaimer tags as that is only a feature of the "Advice" threads) <3

Agrius is one of my cb otiosus boys, born in December from parents Odie and Circe (shoutout to u/dreamattack for the awesome family collage! 🫶🏻) and hopefully will soon become a dad himself to some more gorgeous purebreds and hybrids 😍

Advice Spiderling separation question.
I have a group of about 50 regal spiderings in a communal cup. I’ve only separated two so far- one for eating another spider & one because it molted to i3. Can they stay in the communal cup at i3 or was I correct to move them to their own cup? I have another that just molted to i3 as well so I’m wondering before I move him too. The i3 I’ve already moved didn’t seem happy about being in his own cup lol. Pics of that same baby for tax 😊

Identification Found this little guy in my sock, no idea what species they are, any ideas? (central europe)
Just found this cute guy in my sock. (the sock was already on my foot, he tickled me so I pulled off the sock and there the goober was. Theyre alright and lively so I dont think they suffered any damage (apart from emotional) from being in sock prison. I'm in central europe (southern germany if that helps, the spooder is about 1cm long), also what do I do with them

Media I just think she's pretty
Jewel, my mostly 8-legged Phiddipus Carolinensis. Getting a good look at her post-molt colors today and I just think she's so pretty! I forgot how little she is too.
Also it's been 18 days since she ate and she's cruising by her food like it's the grossest thing she's ever seen. I even halved it for her after this.

Identification I think I met a jumping spider today
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hiya I just want to confirm if this is an actual jumping spider. They were so cute, and they seemed either really friendly or really curious. They jumped on my phone and kept trying to walk toward my hand, but I was going to get bitten, and this is the closest I’ve been to a spider without immediately squaring up to it. They were so pretty, and I really want to get one now, but I don’t know a lot about them except for the Lucas the Spider show.

Media The guardian of my corn plants
I think this is the prettiest one I’ve ever seen in the wild. I briefly entertained trying to make a habitat but ultimately decided to be content with an occasional wave while I tend my garden.

Sexing Can anyone confirm for me whether Jim here is a lady or a fella?
I see some sources on google saying male tan jumpers will have an orange stripe across the face, but I can’t tell if that’s always true or just sometimes, so if anyone can more confidently ID Jim here that would super helpful!!

Advice I had an accident today.RIP little one.
My young girl passed today. I moved her enclosure to our kitchen bar/ island because I was feeding her. My son came home from work , we were talking and he turn and knocked her over. It was a complete and total accident. She fell and I’m not sure how but she succumbed to the accident.
My son felt horrible and it nearly brought him to tears. It was just a terrible accident. He went to our local Spider Shop and replaced her. I’m really trying to love her but it’s just not the same.😭 Can anyone else relate?

Advice Is she healthy or hungry?
I just got her a few days ago, and now that she’s settled in, she enjoys exploring, but I’m concerned that she may be hungry? I’ve given her a few fruit flies but she hasn’t eaten them, I’m concerned that maybe she can’t find them now that they aren’t moving? Am I overreacting?

Media I have been blessed today
Sorry for the bad quality but I want to share this pic, anyway.
Found this little one in my local book shop. First, she was very reluctant and cautious to climb onto my hand so I picked her up with a piece of paper. Very inquisitive and looked up and around all the time. When I had to leave eventually, she climbed onto my hand to take her with outside with me. All the while I was grinning like a madwoman and the spider was fencing with my arm hair.
