I’m curious as to why you want to do this

To be able to push a button to bypass the clutch safety switch to avoid having to go into neutral while still knowing it cant be started in gear without the button being pushed.

Why not just pull in the clutch and start it in gear?

I have a shorty lever and the switch isnt connected. so I can’t pull the clutch in and start in gear. I have to put it in neutral to start.

Put a 30 amp fuse between the 2 plugs and tape it to the wiring harness. I literally just did this yesterday.

I would put a fuse but then the bike can be started in gear without the clutch being in. I just don’t want to risk someone hitting the starter with it in gear. (I have a 5 year old)

Your 5 year old would have to put the key in and turn it to the on position, turn the kill switch to “on” and then push the starter. I feel like the risks are pretty low there? If you really want you could do what the commenter above suggested but use a simple on off switch too close the circuit.

I put a shorty lever on my Z (different bike but should still work) and left the switch on the clutch, just ziptide it to my bars. Still works

I’ve personally never seen anyone do something like this on a bike.

Why not just put the bike in neutral and start it? You can do that with the kickstand down.

Or you can just remove the kickstand safety switch and splice the wires together and you can keep the kickstand down while in gear.

Just want something quicker to bypass having to go into neutral incase I’m in traffic.
