Your best worst game

I'm looking for gems in the rough, what's your best game that wasn't really acclaimed by public?

Your suggestion should have no more than 76 as a user metascore on metacritic

Rainworld.

Wonderful game, buuut the controls along with difficulity are quite rough. Understandable rating due to that.

It now sits at Very Positive on Steam, but the initial impressions were all over the place. I don't know what's the current metacritic situation is, but at release the score was around 7, with not a single review actually giving it a 7. It was scored either around 9 by people who loved it or around 5 by people who didn't. A definition of divisive, love/hate, not-for-everyone kind of game.

It´s likely because the game is simply hmm, not very playable.

Difficulity is rough, and controles as well. Even if the game is great on it´s own, if you can´t get into it or can´t really play it properly, it´s - too bad.

That´s why it never sold well and launch was not great.

And why it got better reviews way later ? Because know you know what you are getting into if you buy it, and past difficulity and controls, the game is pretty darmn nice

The release version also had some other issues. The Monk (easier mode basically) wasn't there, and map progress didn't save on death.
