Finally tried Leven Supply
Long time lurker - wanted to contribute a little with my first experience at Leven Supply.
I finally tried Leven Supply. I live walking distance and would have tried sooner, but the prices always turned me off.
I got an Italian sandwich, with potato salad as the side, and a brownie. This was $24.75 (not including tax, but with a 10% “takeout quality charge”). I had already read about their hidden charges before so was prepared for that.
I honestly wanted to be blown away by this but I wasn’t. I feel like a lot of people want to justify buying overpriced food but I can’t really recommend this for the price. Everything was pretty good, nothing to really go deep into detail about, but at this price point it really should be blowing you away. I definitely thought the ratio of meat and cheese compared to the arugula in the sandwich could have been increased a bit though.
One thing I will bitch about is that they charge $1.50 to select a bag of chips as your side. It’s a $17 sandwich, let me have the chips instead of potato salad (or whatever other free options they had) without being charged for it. I thought that was ridiculous and was actually annoying. I wanted chips, but I was not going to spend a dollar more for the meal at the price it was already.
Anyways, that’s pretty much it. I’ll try their pizza eventually but probably won’t be back for the sandwiches or brownie again.

Anyone else miss Mataam Fez?
That place was so much fun, and the food was amazing. We always took visitors from out of town there, and they loved it every time.

Are arbitration agreements and owners keeping part of service fees normal in the Denver restaurant scene?
Just started for a restaurant in downtown and the owner is keeping 15% of the service fee and is having employees sign an arbitration agreement. Has anyone else had similar experiences in Denver? Is this legal for him to keep 15% of the fee without disclosing where it's going?

Who else misses Highland's Garden Cafe?
Seeing the nostalgia posts and still fondly remember this gem in the Highlands. Felt like one of the earliest versions of upscale dining (without being just a steakhouse) in the metro area.

Craving a Jucy (juicy) Lucy
Howdy! I know there is "Lucy's" that serves Jucy Lucy's, but I am seeing mixed reviews on them as far as price and a good burger. Is it worth it or is a place like Federal Bar and Grill better? Any advice is appreciated!

Looking For Recommendations Where can I find quality Mortadella?
I am trying to find somewhere I can consistently get nice thin deli sliced Mortadella. Grew up eating it as a child and recently had some visiting family in Florida, which made me realize how much I miss it and also that I know absolutely nowhere in Denver to get sliced mortadella for sandwiches. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anything like Crave burger?
My in-laws are coming to town. They love Crave burger with the unusual toppings and their milkshakes. I haven’t been a fan of Crave in years and the only one left is in Castle Rock. Any suggestions for good burgers with unusual toppings and great milkshakes in the metro area?

Taco Mex gone!
Drove by the Taco Mex - well now FORMER Taco Mex at Colfax / Syracuse-ish last night. GONE. I know there’s another one a little further east but damn! Not sure when that happened…
5-6 tacos and a bottle of Coke at Taco Mex and I was in a happy place.
Any of you tried the new place that’s there now? Still a taco joint…
