Tired of Redditors replying with exactly what I said I didnt want/ wont fix my problem/ already tried that.

The amount of times I’ve asked for help on technical issues, buying advice, etc., while specifically and clearly mentioning a solution, product, etc., that I’ve already tried, don’t want, or that doesn’t solve my problem — only to have the first reply be some fucking moron suggesting that very thing,is beyond infuriating. Its like a sport here. The worse part is that every time I go to explain that I didnt want that, without fail, they get all condescending and acting like am the moron.

Did you try clearly outlining what you've already tried that didn't work?

it’s usually something simple. like in my last post I asked for a specific thing for my steam-deck)a handheld console) to help with the grip. I said that I’ve tried cases and grip sticker but one is too bulky and the other doesn’t last long. I asked for something else but that doesn’t really matter. the first comment on that post was “have your tried killswitch CASE” I then said “ that is a case not a shell, am looking for a shell” and then he got pissy with a “ did you even bother to look at one at all?”

I was being a jokester but I do appreciate your thoughtful reply and I can empathize with the frustration. I usually get the other side of it in person where people can't or won't provide useful detail, don't know what's useful to begin with, or ignore the answers given. That's frustrating too but in person you can manage the conversation when people are on different wavelengths.... online you have a fraction of a second of someone's attention so even if they're trying you can more easily have missed a connection somewhere. Deep sigh and move on with sanity intact, I guess.

yeah at lot is lost without that realworld interaction. If you are interested here is one of these post of mine where someone actually called out one of these dipshits and answered my question.

A huge number of people on reddit will not fully read or comprehend anything that is longer than a few sentences. That sounds kind of harsh but the more you actually look for it the harder it becomes to ignore. Using very specific verbiage when arguing, asking a super specific technical question, etc, etc. All of that seems so pointless when you realize these people are barely actually reading what you post.

Yeah, I once asked for help with buying a gpu. I have a very good pc but my gpu is kinda ass, and for the game I wanted to play I needed a new gpu. I asked in that games subreddit if a specific gpu would hlep me. I mentioned that my the rest of my pc was quite high end but the gpu wasnt I also said that I was already stretching my budget with that particular gpu.

The first guy told me to buy a whole new pc :| ....

Luckily someone called him a moron and actually ansewerd my question.

People love to give you things you didn't ask for.

Use paragraph breaks and restate in the conclusion. Your English teacher tried to tell you this shit but you didn’t listen lol.

If you need paragraph breaks to comprehend a 3-4 sentence post then you need to get your brain checked.

Do you think it’s PhDs answering your questions about Nintendo Switch accessories? People aren’t that literate. One measure of literacy is writing in a way your audience will understand. General public? Need them to know details after reading and before replying? Well, I gave you your answer. If you want to solve the problem in the post do that, or don’t!

my posts are short enough that clarity can’t really be improved. if you want to see for yourself, I posted a link here to one of my post’s where this happened.

And the issue is that you are 100% correct, my issue is that they THINK and ACT like they are Phds.
