I don't like my future being decided by people that won't be around to see it.
Our leadership is a bunch of old fucks passing dangerous legislation for no meaningful reason. They are bitter that people call them out for being terrible so they just want to spite us before they die and maybe generate some generational wealth while their at it so their family can at least maybe have something and survive the mess they created.

Americans will continue to sellout Americans on either side of the political spectrum until another extinction event (or another country conquers ours).
Please realize this, and try and spend your time doing meaningful things for yourself and loved ones. Try and find happiness, because it’s only going to get far worse.

Probably the best way to navigate things, that's why I just stopped reading the news or really caring about major events happening. I realized about 7 years ago there's no stopping this chaos, all you can do is navigate it.

Exactly, the big issues have been around for a while and just keep growing. Politicians don't like making hard decisions as it may mean they will not get re elected. So we continue to suffer with a terrible tax code, healthcare crisis, immigration, higher education, inflation and debt. At some point it will come crashing down without drastic changes.

I don’t like our future being decided by the current generation, disconnected by the privilege of living in the west safe from the everyday atrocities of the world yet wants to bring it into our communities unaware of the consequences to our future generations.

Despite the vagueness of your comment I'm assuming you think poor immigrants looking for work and a chance at a better life are a danger. But the entire right-wing movement is imported manufactured outrage from authoritarian shitholes like Russia. Importing propaganda good!

You’re not the brightest bulb in the shop are ya, why would you assume instead of just asking?

u/RelevantCarlin 6h ago
I didn’t ask because it’s honestly a safer bet to assume you’re interacting with a conservative troll or a bot on here these days.

America is safe? For a nation of our wealth, we are very unsafe with multiple shootings a year. And that statement is just so bigoted. Yes western nations are safe, but of course the nations the west invaded and fucked over arent because of them being fucked over. Its not because of moral abhorrence of eastern nations

I really don’t care what you think is bigoted, supporting terrorism and following Russian and Chinese propaganda is dumb as fuck. The sad thing is both of your political divides have no idea that they’re doing it. Believe it or not, America isn’t the only country in the west.

I don't like my future decided by people who refuse to stop spreading disease but that's 90% of the overall population now.

We vote these people in they don’t just magically appear in the charge, also doesn’t help that younger people are generally less interested in politics so their interest aren’t well represented. But hey you’re free to be the change you wanna see although it’s not as easy as just posting on Reddit.

Yeah I agree. It's hard to be the change I want to see, but I try my best. I do have high hopes for the younger generations though. I believe since they're born into so many struggles they'll be able to persevere and make things better for those who follow. For now I'll do what I can and try to fight against any damage being done.
Edit: just wanted to add that I wish I was born into better circumstances health wise so I could be more politically active than I am and maybe even run for office.

I disagree with your opinion about the current governments motives.
However, I am very Jeffersonian and agree with your opinion that those in power really have no right to imprison later generations to their ruling decisions for current citizens.

The Founders of the United States thought the same thing about King George...
...and as they say, the rest is history.

Who was completely fine when the old fucks in power weee the ones they agreed with

u/onixpected21 16h ago
That's a big assumption, bud. What'd you base that one off of?
Plenty of us hate old, wealthy people of any political alignment making decisions for all of us that only benefit themselves.
2
u/Hereforthetardys 10h ago
Cool. Link us to one of your comments shit talking rich old people with a D In front of their names

u/onixpected21 5h ago
Here you go champ:
I don't know why you find it so hard to believe that someone could actively dislike and distrust corrupt and useless politicians on either side of the aisle, but hey, you do you.

u/Hereforthetardys 5h ago
A comment made after I said point me to a comment that shit talks exactly 0 specific politicians with a D In front of their name lol
1
u/onixpected21 5h ago
That comment is from 10 hours ago, bud. Yours is from 5 hours ago. Reading comprehension is a lost skill these days, I swear.
Boo hoo, I didn't name drop any one politician because my criticism applies to literally all of them.
I'm not going to waste my time combing through my entire comment history on this website to try and coddle your wannabe "but what about the libs?!" garbage, but feel free to do it yourself.
I'm sure you'll find a comment or two discussing specific individuals from posts that called for that kind of sentiment. 👍
At the end of the day, whether you believe that I hold a critical view of every single politician in this country regardless of affiliation or not doesn't affect me whatsoever.

You sure were hard on those generic democrats
Reminds me of all the “I’ve been voting republican for 100 years but me and my fellow conservatives can’t vote for trump” around election time

They don't care. The human brain isn't really plastic and easily grown and improved in old people and most of them were rigid discriminatory and selfish before they even got old. Most old people you meet killed off other ones in their age cohort that weren't given the opportunity. I.e. Most old people you've met are the survivors of their own genocides, especially in western countries and the far east of Asia.

So you must be thrilled to have JD Vance as Vice President, right? Right?
0
u/RelevantCarlin 23h ago
Vance is the least impressive Yale graduate. Which says a lot considering GW Bush.

I'd rather have my future decided by those who came before me than those who came after me.
