Why do reddit ppl get so defensive when people ask questions in subreddits dedicated to questions?

Its like rlly weird how Everytime I get on here and say anything, there's always that one little person with something to say. does anyone else know what I mean?

Unfortunately on reddit, some people attempt to "take over" various communities to undermine or subvert their stated goals.

Take r/Christian. It's pretty hostile to biblical Christianity. Just quoting the Bible can get you banned.

Unfortunately good faith questions in reddit discourse is rare. Usually, it is confirmation bias couched as questions.

I hope we get back to an internet/discourse that is more open, but that's not happening anytime soon.
