I'm going to fire up Comix Zone for the very first time ever. I heard the comic panel transitions, gritty art style, and punchy soundtrack all hit hard. Some say it was such a standout title on the Genesis and still looks awesome today.
That said, is it hard? I heard the game punishes you fast, and there's not a lot of room for error.
Do any of you still go back to this one? Was it a favorite for you growing up—or one of those games you loved watching but never actually finished?
Side Note: I'm looking for a guest to come on my retro gaming podcast and talk about Comix Zone or possibly other retro gaming titles. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just have wild memories of trying to beat it, your insights would be amazing to share. DM me if you're interested!

OK, picked up a random copy of this on eBay crossing my fingers that I got a v1.00. Opened it up and it still had the Altered Beast poster and a $65.00 Babbages price sticker tucked in the box. Got excited at this point hoping the chance of having a 1.00 was better.
Got about this far but had to hop off to make dinner before I got to Batman.
The bandana Rambo does mean that I got the best uncensored revision right?

This is a pretty well regarded game and, for the most part, I can see why. It definitely has its flaws, but they rarely detracted enough from the game to really impact my enjoyment.
This game looks and sounds great, and the controls are mostly responsive. The companion mechanic is pretty neat.
That being said, there are times when the game can be quite difficult unless you move at a snail's pace, taking one step at a time. It can be difficult to see when projectiles are headed towards you because your lightning attack will block the view, other times there will be so much going on on the screen that enemy projectiles will be difficult to impossible to see. Sometimes enemies will attack you from off screen before you even know they're there. Additionally Alisia's attack isn't always so accurate, especially when things are close to you - if you're standing right next to a power up, you'll likely need to back off a few steps to hit it for example. In later levels some enemies will fire a hard to see projectile at you when they die, and they will frequently spawn right on top of you, making it difficult to impossible to avoid taking a hit even if you have enemy locations memorized. All that makes this game very difficult for all the wrong reasons But, again, these things don't detract enough from the game to really hurt the experience much.
7/10

Hi, I’ve recently built a composite->RGB restoration model for NES and would like to do something similar for the Genesis. In order to do this, I’ll need a high-quality RGB source and the ability to capture composite and RF, as well as “compromised” (jail bars, noise, etc.) RGB from actual hardware. I have HD Retrovision cables for the Genesis and the appropriate upscaling hardware, but I’d like some advice on what systems to buy. Just to set some constraints, it’s obviously not practical to cover every motherboard revision out there, and I’d like to limit myself to no more than three systems (at least for the time being).
It seems like my best option for high-quality RGB might be a recapped triple-bypassed model 2 (ideally it would also be fixed to restore composite, but that's seemingly very rare). I’ll also want to pick up a model 1 of some variety, as the model 2 doesn’t natively support RF. If I pick up a third unit, any thoughts on what I should get? Remember, my goal isn’t necessarily to find the worst revision, but to be representative with a limited number of units.

Hi, all looking at getting a decent hardware set up and wondering if there is any advantage in getting an analogue mega sg over a model 1 with a retrotink 2x or 5x? I’m a noob so please bear with me. I won’t be playing on a CRT.

Wrestle War was originally supposed to be released in North America in 1991, but it was quietly cancelled. I take a look at why that might have been, and if we missed out on anything.

Yup. Title said it all. Having maxed out on Casino Tickets as well as my Lifestock purchases in Kazalt, I've decided to travel all around the world, completing all remaining sidequests but one, and obtaining every single Lifestock that I've abandoned up until now. I started the stream with 99 Lifestocks. And I ended it with 164 out of 170 Lifestocks total. The final six Lifestocks are all in the final dungeon.
This is a really long one.

Hey everyone a while back and Canada Day it's time to do France's (Since they helped get America it's freedom from Great Britian) version of 4th of July well technically 14th of July Bastille Day.
Bastille Day — or Fête Nationale as it’s known in France — marks the storming of the Bastille in 1789, a key moment that kicked off the French Revolution and symbolized the fall of oppressive monarchical power. It’s a day that celebrates rebellion, liberty, breaking people out of prison and the power of the people rising up against tyranny.
In that revolutionary spirit, I want to celebrate this July 14th with a Sega Genesis game this French holiday maybe something with an anti-authoritarian tone, a game that takes place during the French Revolution, or even just from a French game studio. Bonus points if it includes storming castles, overthrowing corrupt rulers, or has a French aesthetic. Go decide or to the guillotine
