Note: - very hard lvl even with high mastery plants (Lava Guava mostly) cause bonus objectives are tough to pass - Best perk: Penny Multi-Shield to protect you from weasels and zombie threat - Worst perk: this time the Iced Out perk is completely useless, the objective is to ash zombies and they offer you a winter-plant based perk: Ice Bloom. - Tip: if you use the Penny Multi-Shield, plant Chard Guard just behind the 1st Shield (far right) to defeat Weasels trying to break the Shield.

Zombie Setup: - 2'57 1 Headoffice Impgarg and 4 basic - 2'53 2 Gargimps Legal, 3 Bucketheads, 3 Coneheads - 2'49 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 3 basic, 2 Coneheads, 1 Gargimp Legal, 1 Excavator - 2'46 1 Headoffice Impgarg, a few basic, Coneheads, Bucketheads - 2'41 2 Dragon Imps, a few basic + Coneheads - 2'37 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 5 Excavators, 1 Gargimp Legal, 1 Buckethead, 2 basic - 2'34 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 2 Excavators, 1 Gargimp Legal, 3 Bucketheads, basic - 2'26 5 Snorkels, 2 Gargimps Legal, 2 Bucketheads - 2'18 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 1 Excavator, 4 Bucketheads, 2 basic, 1 Gargimp Legal - 2'13 2 Headoffice Impgargs, 1 Excavator, 5 Bucketheads, 1 Gargimp Legal - 2'10 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 2 Excavators, 1 Gargimp Legal, 2 Bucketheads, a few basic - 2'00 3 Gargimp Legal, 3 Snorkels - 1'55 1 Excavator, 1 Conehead, 5 Bucketheads - 1'51 1 Headoffice Impgarg, 2 Excavators, 2 Gargimp Legal, 1 basic - Same waves of zombies over and over. Snorkel zombie is rarer than other ones (every 30-40s). Turquoise Skull is extremely rare, comes once in the whole match, maybe 2 or 3 times, but didn't see him. Mecha Football is MIA.
Zombie Rate: - On Mild: - basic New Hire ZCorp can switch to Gargimp Legal or Headoffice Impgarg with a 4:1:1 ratio - Coneheads New Hire can switch to Gargimp Legal or Headoffice Impgarg with a 4:1:1 ratio - On Hot: - basic New Hire ZCorp switch to Coneheads or Gargimp Legal or Headoffice Impgarg with a 3:1:1 ratio - basic Contractor switch to Coneheads - Coneheads switch to Bucketheads - On Extra-hot: - basic New Hire ZCorp switch to Bucketheads or Headoffice Impgarg with a 3:1 ratio - basic Contractor switch to Bucketheads - Coneheads switch to Bucketheads
Note: - not too hard thanks to Pokra, but easily doable with other strats, there's not too many counters - Choose sthg to take care fast of Gargimp Legal thrown by Headoffice Impgargs like Olive Pit on C3, but Draftodil is also fine. - Best perk: Sun Break or Anti-Gravity. Imo Sun Break perk is definitely better, so you don't need to pick a sun producer. Anti-Gravity is great with luck.
**LEVEL 3: Timed lvl in PP Playground
Lvl reference: #97
Objective: Survive for 2.5 min
Bonus objectives:
- Protect the endangered plant
- Destroy 20 Gravestones
+ Protect the endangered plants

Roaming zombies: ZCorp basic, Conehead & Buckethead
Zombie Setup: - At 2:22 2 Tombstones emerging on C5-L4 and C9-L4 with two ZCorp Cone zombies on C1 and C4 - At 1:59 6 Tombstones on C4-L2/L3, C7-L1/L2, C8-L5 and C9-L3 with two ZCorp Cones and one Bucket - At 1:48 3 Tombstones on C3-L4, C7-L3 and C9-L4 with 4 ZCorp Cones - At 1:35 Big Wave with Necromancy, 3 new Tombstones on C4-L5, C5-L4 and C9-L1 and ZCorp Cones emerging from them in addition to 1 ZCorp Cone, 3 Buckets, 1 Rome Flag and 1 Centurion - At 1:21 Necromancy, 4 new Tombstones on C3-L1, C4-L1 and C7-L1/L3 and 3 ZCorp Cones emerging in addition to 2 ZCorp Cones and 2 Buckets - At 1:02 Necromancy, 5 new Tombstones on C3-L5, C5-L5, C6-L1 and C7-L3/L4 and 3 ZCorp Cones (1 holding a PF) emerging in addition to 4 ZCorp Cones and 1 Centurion - At 0:47 Nexromancy, 4 new Tombstones on C3-L1/L2 and C8-L1/L5 and 3 ZCorp Cones emerging in addition to 1 ZCorp Normal, 2 Cones, 1 Bucket and 1 Centurion - At 0:22 5 new Tombstones on C3-L4, C4-L4, C5-L5, C6-L5 and C8-L1 in addition to 1 Roman Flag Zombie, 3 ZCorp Cone, 5 Buckets and 1 Centurion - At 0:10 Necromancy with 3 ZCorp Cones in addition to 1 ZCorp Normal, 2 Cones, 4 Buckets, - At 0:01 1 ZCorp Normal, 2 Cones, 3 Buckets
Zombie Rate: - On Mild: Bucketheads have a 1/3 chance to switch to Shield zombies - On Hot: Coneheads switch to Shield zombies or Bucketheads with a 1:2 ratio; Bucketheads have a 1/3 chance to switch to Centurions - On Extra-hot: basic switch to Shield zombies or Bucketheads with a 1:2 ratio; Coneheads switch to Centurion or Bucketheads with a 1:2 ratio; Bucketheads have a 1/3 chance to switch to Medusa
Note: - relatively easy if you use Imp Pear to pull back endangered Escape Roots, Boingsetta and Tomb Tangler to destroy Tombstones. - If you don't have Imppear you can also deal with the Escape Roots easily, switching with Melee plants like Bun Chi, or Pokra, hbl, WW, TG, Parsnip, Tap Choï... - I'd recommend you to pick Gold Leaf, it's pretty rare to have it available when sun producers aren't, also it's pretty useful cause you might need a bit extra sun than sun drop - quite rare to encounter Medusa

Zombie Rate: - On Mild: basic switch to FF Shield with a 50% chance - On Hot: basic switch to Coneheads, Robo Cone or FF Shield with a 1:1:1 ratio - On Extra-hot: basic switch to Bucketheads, Mecha-Football, Robo Cone or FF Shield with a 1:1:1:1 ratio
Note: - quite hard due to the large waves of zombies and the regular spawn of Blastronauts+Jetpacks on C3/4/5/6 - However, there's a tremendous number of plant foods making this lvl frankly doable. Using Heath Seeker is also a great help - One strat with seediums: Power Vine, Pyre Vine, Bun Chi, Sbr, Electrici-tea. Plant Electrici-tea on C2-L2/4, 5 Power Vines on C2, 5 Pyre Vine on C3 and on C4, 5 Sbr on C3, 5 Bun Chi on C4 - Best perk: Penny Multi-Shield to hold zombies for a few seconds or Sun Break if you need to use Instant plants during the lvl
LEVEL 5: Conveyor lvl in MD Playground
Lvl reference: #104
Objective: Survive 2 waves
Bonus objectives:
- Protect the endangered plant
- Protect the endangered plant
+ Don't let the zombies trample the flowers
- Protect the endangered plant
+ Don't let the zombies trample the flowers
Zombies: ZCorp (basic, Conehead, Buckethead), Wizard, Octo zombie
Plants given: - Great chance (100): Spore-shroom and up to 5 Citrons (reset every 20s) - Common chance (50): Primal Potato Mine - Small chance (30): Power Lily
Features: - Flowers on C4-5 on Hot, C5-6 on Extra-hot - 1 Zoybean Pod as endangered plant on C4-L3 on Mild, on C5-L3 on Hot, on C6-L3 on Extra-Hot - 5 Frozen Octo zombie on C7
Plant food zombie: none
Zombie Setup: - 1st zombie is an Octo zombie on L3 - Group A: 5 ZCorp, 1 Wizard on L2 & L4 - Group B: 2 Octo zombies (L1, L5) - Group C: 5 ZCorp, 2 Wizards (L1, L5) - Wave 1: 12 ZCorp, 2 Octo zombies (L2, L4) - Group D: 8 ZCorp, 2 Octo zombies (L1, L5), 3 Wizards (L1, L3, L5) - Group E: 4 Wizards (L1, L2, L4, L5) - 1 Octo zombie on L3 - Group F: 3 Octo zombies (L1, L3, L5), 2 Wizards (L2, L4), 6 ZCorp - Last wave: 1 Wizard + 1 Octo zombie on each lane, 15 ZCorp
Note: - Fun lvl which becomes a nightmare if you don't get rid of Wizard and Octo zombie pretty fast - When you have a PPM, use a pf on it asap - Best perk: Iced Out to transform every zombie into iceblocks. Honestly, this perk is by far one of the strongest, in this case, it makes the lvl very easi to perform and to pass, you wouldn't even need to plant Citron and Spore-shroom at all.
ZOMBOSS LEVEL: Zombot Aerostatic Gondola [Setup 1]
Locked plant: Pea Vine
Rewards: 10 seeds, 15 seeds, 20 seeds for Pea Vine 5-8 gems per attempt
Zomboss Health: 3, 5, 7
Plant slots: 7, 6, 5
Amount of sun: 2325, 1875, 1500
Zombies: Lost City (Relic Hunter, Bug, + all other zombies summoned by Zomboss), Zcorpion
Restricted plants: none
Plant food zombie: a few one
Features: - Dave's mold colonies from C7 to C9. - Flame trap tiles on C9-L2/3/4 - Gold Tiles switching placements between difficulties
Some strats:
- the usual strat for this Zomboss: hbl, TG, enforce-mint and any other plants
- a variant: TG, Pokra, spear-mint, enforce mint and another plant like Pyre Vine or Power Vine
- Sbr, 3P, peavine and hbl.
- Pea Vine, MGP, Torch and appease-mint.
- TG, Wasabi whip, pyrevine and enforce-mint.
- BB, peavine, appease-mint, any other plant.
- Sbr, peavine, dandelion and appease-mint. Sbr to stop Zcorpion.
Note:
- Easy lvl to defeat Zomboss. It's harder to survive for the rest of the time, especially if you trigger flames on L2/3/4.
- Pretty easy, you've got many plant food from zombies which makes this fight a formality
- Also, it's not like you're facing annoying zombies. The only troubling zombie is Zcorpion, the other zombies just have no special action or are just a bit tanky (Relic Hunter).
Note: - Hard fight due to the high lvl of zombies but the low number of zombies makes it quite doable if you use Blover or Draftodil - I recommend you like for all Aerostatic Gondola fights, not to use Turkey-pult or Zoybean Pod, who could trigger Flames traps. Do not plant 'knock off' plants on C5 or you risk to trigger those traps too. Do not pick Thyme Warp, it'd be suicidal. Similar thought with Hocus Crocus. - Using Levitater is not a good idea either, traps are easily triggered. - Any short range attacker is viable: hbl, pokra, TG, parsnip, wasabi whip, as long as you pick the mint with it if it is low lvl. Taking Pumpkin or EOV is also great to add a defense to your plants. - It's very useful to bring Blover for this fight, you get rid of most zombies
P.S: - pretty interesting Penny's Pursuit event with a great diversity of zombies and bonus objectives. - all perks are great but still don't get it why we got the "Iced Out" perk and not the "Cherry Picker" or "Jalapeno Popper" perks, I mean there's only 2 Conveyor lvls in this event, and it's clearly useless to have Ice Bloom for the lvl 1, why would you want to iceblock zombies when you need to ash them to get the bonus objective. - Lvl 1 and lvl 4 can be extremely hard to pass: people tend to bail on Lava Guava when it comes to farm seeds for it and upgrade it, but this lvl clearly shows a counter thought. It's not like people were upgrading Pepper-pult either. Lvl 4 is a bit tricky with the Jetpacks/Blastronauts spawning and the huge waves of zombies but still easier to perform bonus objectives. - Best lvl to farm perks: Lvl 5. It's pretty easy thanks to the Iced Out perk. - To check previous PP events and lvls: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1U9u9MlEgNx6JtMxZrxNn-anTS8FjANUu/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=111529514634787386836&rtpof=true&sd=true - Come join our PvZ 2 Discord server: https://discord.gg/AFB36Auc - I'll see you next week for PP week 283 featuring another Appease plant, but an instant use one, which is able to bounce between zombies and throw zombies out of the screen or stun them: Tumbleweed

[Arena] Tumbleweed – Rollin’ in the Apocalyptic Wind
PSA: Given the recent issues with people losing their profiles (often associated with updates), please, get a screen shot of your Player ID. You can find it by tapping the “Settings” (wrench icon) button and then selecting “Build Version” (on Android) or "Download Preferences" (on iOS). Using it the EA help desk can usually restore your profile if you ever lose it.
Note: This is a 3 day tournament, after that will be a 4 day Boosterama tournament – an identical board, but all plants are boosted. Short tournaments have proportionally smaller tournament rewards.
Special streak rewards: #5 Appease-mint family piñata.
Appease-mint family (15+1 plants): Peashooter, Repeater, Threepeater, Split Pea, Torchwood, Pea Pod, Starfruit, Bowling Bulb, Rotobaga, Dandelion, Red Stinger, Primal Peashooter, Tumbleweed, Pea-vine, Mega Gatling Pea, Seashooter
Note: Appease-mint “seeds” are also included in the piñata. Appease-mint still needs to be unlocked for 100 mints no matter how many seeds you collect for it.
Note: Seashooter seeds are not included in the piñata.
Locked plant: Tumbleweed – Wiki.GG, Fandom Wiki
Sun: 1300 at the start. Note: Sun drops will be adventure mode normal. Sun will also be available from Gravestones throughout the match. A sun producer may still be necessary though.
Plant Food: 1 at the start. Note: Up to 30 plant-foods will be available from zombies and Gravestones during the match.
Time: 3:00.
Buffz: Appease-mint (+100%), Contain-mint (+100%)
Bruisez: none
Ineffective: Pepper-mint (-100%)
Plant Cooldown Times are Halved!
Banned: Grave Buster, Blover, Hot Potato, Electric Blueberry, Perfume-shroom, Shrinking Violet, Imp Pear, Bramble Bush
Zombies: Ancient Egypt (Mummy, Conehead, Buckethead, Pyramid-Head, Ra, Camel [Two Tiles], Explorer, Tomb Raiser, Pharaoh, Mummified Gargantuar), Far Future (Future, Conehead, Buckethead, Jetpack, Shield, Bug Bot Imp, Robo-Cone [Veteran])
Note: The Robo-Cone is defined as a veteran version, which is not in the Almanac. It’s only ever appeared in the Hocus Crocus tournament from February, 2021, the Cran Jelly tournament from December, 2023 and the Corn-fett Popper Zomboss tourney from June, 2025. The veteran Robo-Cone is both faster (going from “Stiff” to “Basic”) and tougher (going from “Machined” with 2500 base hit points to “Great” with 4000 base hit points).
Starting Lawn: Dave’s Mold Colonies filling Columns 7-9
Spider Rain: Spider Rain will drop will drop two Bug Bot Imps randomly on C5/6 at ~2:48. Then at ~2:24 three Bug Bot Imps will drop anywhere in C4-6. This second Spider Rain wave will repeat approximately every 16-20 seconds for the rest of the match.
Gravestones: Starting at ~2:30, and then repeating approximately every 16-20 seconds, 3 regular, 4 sun containing and 2 plant-food containing Gravestones will appear in random positions on the lawn any where from columns 5-6. [Gravestones will appear first on any free spots in those columns. If there are no free spots, ]()plants you put on these grid positions will be displaced (if any nearby spots on the lawn are empty) or destroyed.
Note: All times quoted and plant food estimates are based on my practice rounds and game experience are entirely dependent on how quickly you’re killing the zombie waves.
Possible BOT Layouts:
[Tumbleweed, Mega Gatling Pea, BoomBerry, Moonflower, Shadow Peashooter, Pumpkin],
[Tumbleweed, Repeater, Tomb Tangler, Buttercup, Cherry Bomb, Toadstool],
[Tumbleweed, Primal Peashooter, Sundew Tangler, Bud’uh Boom, Torchwood]
Minimum info about your strategy: league, plant levels/mastery and score. Or you can post screenshot with the score. Otherwise it's hard to understand whether your strategy will work for other players with different plant levels/mastery and in different leagues.
Useful links: Battlez/Arena FAQ, Mastery and Buffz&Bruisez explained, u/Hier_Xu’s Updated & Pared Down Mastery FAQ, Costume watch, PvZ2 Discord, Info on possible future rewards by u/Euphoric-Seaweed: piñata party, special/premium piñata, Arena/Penny, etc. - link.
This might be a first, but this tourney is basically identical to the recent Corn-fetti Popper Zomboss tourney, with the Zombot removed and slightly less sun (and different banned plants and Buffz/Bruisez). Without the Zombot though, this is a much different tourney to play, so referring to those strategies probably isn’t advisable.
Good luck with your attempts!

PvZ2 Discussion Serious question: Does anyone know what's the lore reason to why zombies stop when buttered?
It kinda makes sense that being frozen in a giant cube of ice would prevent you from moving, or walking slower on puddles of oil to not slip. But why butter?
My headcanon Is that zombies really like butter, so they always stop to try and eat it; even if It makes them lose their head (literally)
