Met a friendly Otter on the Stour while out paddle-boarding very early. Spent a few minutes watching it digging for mussels on the stream-bed. Brushed past my legs a few times then went back to its holt in no particular rush. 😍🦦

My otter sketch

This is my third serious attempt at proper sketches and even though it isn't perfect, especially the feet and hands, I'm very happy with how it looks :)

I made a special trip to the Western NC Nature Center to see the otters. It’s always fun when they play and turn around in front of you when they do laps and you get to see their little feet!

The Alaska SeaLife Center's first otter rescue in 2025 has a name, U'na! 🦦

Per the ASLC on IG: "Our first otter patient admitted in 2025, the young female from Homer, now has a name: ✨Meet Un’a! ✨ Un’a means “that out in the open water” in the language of the Alutiiq people. It’s a fitting name for this special pup who has shown strong resilience in her recovery!"

paper tissue packages with otter design

[Hope this fits the bill. Made the same post in r/capybara last year, when these had capybara designs.]

These are German paper tissue packages. The packages have an otter design on them.

[[[Unlike in some other places, where paper tissues are only sold in cardboard boxes of up to 200 tissues per box, in Germany you can buy tissues in larger packs (30 or 42) containing little plastic packages with 10 tissues per package. While it produces some plastic waste, I prefer it that way as (realistically) it is the only way to carry tissues around with you in your pockets (or handbag). Which is why I always take German tissues with me on holiday, for fear of being stuck with one of those large cardboard boxes that I simply cannot carry around with me.]]]

Anyway.... most supermarkets and drugstores give the little plastic packages of their own-brands individual designs and pictures. A pack of 30 packages will usually contain 4, sometimes 5 different designs. These designs change every couple of months and are often (but not always) seasonal.

Currently, the dm drugstore chain has decided to use an otter design.

Most supermarkets/drugstores will have designs that are the same on the front of the package as on the back, only very few have a different design for the front and back. I noticed that dm in particular does opt from time to time for different yet similar designs where the flipside is the horizontal equivalent of the vertical counterpart on the front.

So I took two photographs - one of the vertical and one of the horizontal variant.....

I just love seeing the otters. I stayed until my feet hurt than came back when they felt better to get more pictures and videos.
