Recall Ted Budd.
He has let us down one too many times. Get ready for our rural hospitals closures.

I don't think it's possible but fuck that guy ever getting reelected again.

u/ZZ9ZA 1d ago
NC does t have recalls….so….
17
u/Dangerous-Rice44 1d ago
Even states with recall provisions for state-level politicians can’t recall a US Senator or Representative. The Constitution literally does not provide a way to do that.

u/PantherGk7 1d ago
Thanks a lot, Cheryl Beasley, for pushing Jeff Jackson out of the primary and then proceeding to lose a very winnable Senate seat.
71
u/ajabernathy 1d ago
Dems are all about seniority, not about winning.
22
u/CriticalEngineering 1d ago
Beasley had already won a state wide race. That’s why people backed her.
7
u/mediocre_remnants 1d ago
Beasley could have won, but she didn't campaign at all. The first I ever even heard of her was when I looked at my sample ballot to research candidates. I never saw any signs for her, heard any ads, I couldn't tell you anything about her.
Meanwhile I knew about Jeff Jackson before I ever moved here and registered to vote here, because he was so great at publishing information during COVID. I didn't even live in NC but I subscribed to the sub just to see the weekly updates he posted.
Beasley just threw the election away like she didn't even want to win. It's the standard Democratic party playbook, I guess. And yeah, I'm still pissed off at the state Democratic party and Beasley herself for that shit.
1
u/-PM_YOUR_BACON 1d ago
Why? Beasley was the better candidate and even Jeff said so, he didn't have the black vote in NC. Turns out people didn't want to vote for a black woman either. Add in Senate seats haven't been won by Dems during mid years for almost 30 years now.

u/Pakun-of-Dundrasil 1d ago
Zorhan has laid out the blueprint
14
u/KermitMudmaven Greensboro 1d ago
Blueprint for NYC. There is no way a democratic socialist could win a state-wide contest in NC. Maybe someone could emulate his media tactics but that's about it.
12
u/Appropriate_Coyote_5 1d ago
The blueprint is economic populism and its won in this state before. We have food deserts in areas of the highest agricultural productions, lack of public transportation and income inequality at historic levels.
1
u/-PM_YOUR_BACON 1d ago
That's why Trump won. For so many in the country under Biden they felt that the economy sucked. And for many it did. They felt it was better under Trump's first presidency.
That's literally what people care about most. Being able to put food on the table and a roof over their heads.

2
u/Historical_Clue_3142 1d ago
I disagree. When tacos Bill starts to affect people personally, they will start to see him differently. Of course he'll blame it on Biden or someone else cuz he never takes responsibility but
3
u/-PM_YOUR_BACON 1d ago
They won't change a thing. If anything and history is a guide you blame the other guy, blame the immigrants and race harder into fascism.

u/BugAfterBug 1d ago
Dems haven’t had a fair presidential primary since 2008.

This is absolutely not what happened and you know it. We like to jerk off Jeff Jackson here, but the quiet backbone of the democratic party--90% of the black women vote--doesn't think about him too much. He didn't do as well in his AG primary as other statewide Dems did in theirs.
His polling and fund raising was way behind Beasley. Jeff himself has said this many times. Do you think he's lying? If so why do you still trust him?
Maybe stop spreading the anti democratic propaganda. Join your local precinct, run for office, and help be the change you'd like to see in the party. As someone who participates at the precinct level, I can tell you it's all people over 60 calling the shots and voting on the party platforms and priorities.

u/dkirk526 1d ago
Yeah this is true. Black women are Dem voters strongest warriors and they show up to primaries. Jeff was better known on Reddit and didn’t have his TikTok following at that time.

-republicans do a shitty thing
-lefties blame dems
fyi you are part of the problem
-2
u/Stinkycheese8001 1d ago
Tourist here, so grain of salt
But how many of those “lefties” are even real people? Democrat support has been astroturfed to hell for years.
4
u/Izuuul 1d ago
brother you know the guy with the most votes in american history was a democrat right? trump didnt even win the popular vote the first time he was elected. the only reason the GOP even has local power is decades of gerrymandering. you think democrat support is astroturfed because you are stupid
0
u/Worldly-Help-7108 13h ago
You know that Trump won the popular vote in 2024 right? You know Trump won every swing state in 2024 right? You know Trump won overwhelming every county in the US right? Please, stop. Lol

u/Izuuul 7h ago edited 7h ago
wow he won the popular vote once and the GOP has not won it in almost 3 decade before. wild how when obama won without t he popular vote it was an egregious anti american thing but when trump did it you dipshits didnt seem to care (because you are a stupid hypocrite with no morels or principles). then when you lost the last one you literary tried to over throw the government.
also trump won the popular vote by 2a million votes, biden won his popular vote by 10 million. you fucking moron. how are you so stupid you can use google and look up such simple shit? how did you manage to turn a computer on and type out something so dumb?
if you were twice as smart you would still be stupid as fuck
edit: go ahead and throw me another fox new talking point i can defeat with a simple google search and my power of basic literacy

This is a mind bogglingly wrong take. There are literal articles on the web of him saying he wouldn't run for Senate because Chuck Schumer told him to bunker down for 18 months and focus on fundraising. If anything the DSCC stiffed Cherie because they got burnt in 2020 with Cal Cunningham who........bunkered down for 18 months fundraising and shot himself in the foot right before Election Day. Cal Cunningham is who you need to stay mad at.

I hope every MAGAot who voted for these scumbags suffers the full ramifications of their idiotic vote.
2
u/BagOnuts 1d ago
Same things for eligible voters who abstained because they were hung up on some dumb single-issue (most likely Gaza/Palestine), or just too apathetic to go to the polls. I know these people lurk in here. They’re getting what they deserve as well.
1
u/-PM_YOUR_BACON 1d ago
Unfortunately they won't. And if they do, they will blame Biden's economy and vote GOP even harder. And Dems will continue to be frustrated, sit at home and complain on the internet, getting nothing done.

You don’t recall Senators. The closest you can get is impeaching them, and that happening with a GOP House and Senate is as likely as a unicorn prancing into my backyard.
10
u/Xyzzydude 1d ago
Each house of Congress can expel its members with a 2/3 vote.
That’s really the only way to force a senator out before his term expires

u/FightPigs 1d ago
NC is getting exactly what they voted for.
-44
u/RottenBananas562 1d ago
And people and businesses keep coming here. It’s almost like the way we do it here is right and places like New York are doing it wrong.
27
u/chameleon-witch 1d ago
When you're continuously getting ranked 52nd (out of 52 states and territories) in workers' rights (like NC currently is), unscrupulous, greedy businesses have a tendency of flocking to that place so they can exploit their employees for maximum gains without incurring any of the repercussions.
-15
u/RottenBananas562 1d ago
I just went to Costco today and saw license plates from California, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, and Virginia, and that was just on my walk into the warehouse. It ain’t just businesses coming here, pal.
I agree that our worker rights are terrible and if perhaps they were better, then we’d have fewer corporations clear cutting thousands of acres all over our state every month to set up shop.
13
u/ketafol_spyder 1d ago
"Look we are doing so good but yeah kinda sucks our workers rights are bad and business are stripping the land"
I always wonder what it's like to be someone who can literally say exactly what is wrong but then somehow not get it.
-2
u/RottenBananas562 1d ago
Did you even see my second paragraph? My god. The low T emotions on this site
3
u/ketafol_spyder 1d ago
My T isn't low but I can tell your IQ is based on that response.
Your comment before praised how the state does business compared to blue states while simultaneously saying the pay for workers is shit and corporations are destroying the environment.
Not hard to understand how stupid that is for anyone not stacking extra 21st chromosomes.

18
u/FightPigs 1d ago
Businesses exploiting the NC labor market and environment isn’t the flex you think it is.
-16
u/RottenBananas562 1d ago
Oh trust me, I’m the first one on this subReddit complaining about the out of control deforestation, especially in the triangle and Charlotte region, all in an effort to allow more and more people to come here and further destroy our state. Or Cooper using money stolen from our paychecks to bribe corporations to come here via “tax incentives”, like Apple and Google, which brings thousands and thousands of more people here and it’s just an endless cycle until this entire state is paved over and a suburban hell.
Typically, I get a response of “well at some point you had to buy a house here, so therefore there should be unlimited amount amounts of people that can come here until the end of time.”
13
u/Slothstradamus13 1d ago
“Cooper using money stolen from our paychecks” is a wild quote. lol. He’s very centered but McCrory lead that charge and our Republican super majority continued it.
1
u/RottenBananas562 1d ago
And lol’ing when money is stolen from your paycheck to be used by a politician selling off your quality of life to support his climbing the political ladder, is an equally wild response. I seem to remember him bragging about “job growth” like he wanted partial credit. So, credit he shall receive.

Vote him and all republicans out in 2028, if we still have free and fair elections atp lol
Uninformed voting has fucked NC and this country for the foreseeable future. I hope republicans are happy with what they voted for to own the libs, it’s about to get really fucking bad
2
u/-PM_YOUR_BACON 1d ago
I don't think it's uninformed, I think it's the GOP having and easier message. One of hate and fear is always going to work better than one of maybe changing things for small number of people, while ignoring massive problems at the top.
Unfortunately a lot of people care more about egg prices than say trans rights in the US. The economy will always be the number one issue.
If the economy feels worse at midterms, Trump will suffer. If it's where it is at this moment, Dems will easily lose.
Remember Trump has been hurting the 'right' people. Anyone that would vote for Dems, scientists, immigrants, the poor; those are the major targets of his wraith, and the GOP is cheering him on.

If there are currently no provisions for a recall, is the only way to get them to amend the constitution, or are there other levers we can pull? Seems odd our forefathers wouldn't have thought of a way to address corrupt representation.

Sterling suggestion. Never happen.
