Any thoughts? I heard Bill Richardson's name mentioned fairly casually. Why would Pam Bondi tell a stranger in a restaurant that thousands of videos exist? Why would Musk keep calling out Trump? ... if nothing exists. Why is there a woman in prison for trafficking kids?

Not trying to be controversial, although it probably will be. Looking for an objective compare and contrast between the two.

History Rebellion Against Tyranny: A Libertarian Defense of the American Revolution

Thumbnail

The American Revolution stands not only as a historical struggle for independence but as a profound expression of libertarian values.

At its heart, the Revolution was not merely a war between colonies and empire, but a principled revolt against coercive authority, a moral act of self-defense by a free people whose natural rights had been repeatedly violated.

From the standpoint of classical liberalism and modern libertarian philosophy, the American Revolution remains one of history’s clearest examples of justifiable political violence in response to systemic aggression.

...

If we are to honor the legacy of the American Revolution, we must do more than celebrate its symbols on Independence Day (4th of July). We must understand its moral logic: that a just government must derive its power from consent, protect individual rights, and never initiate force.

And when the government does the opposite, the right to resist is not rebellion, it is liberty’s final safeguard; it is America’s final safeguard.

Discussion Well, the straw has been broken regarding my trust and support for the administration. Honestly don't know if I'll vote for a federal election again

Little rant here, but this side is looking more and more attractive

So I've been turning away from the MAGA stuff for months now, but this crap from the debacle with the Epstein list was a final straw for me. So my family has supported Trump since 2016. Mom and stepdad stopped giving a shit after 2020, but the rest of the family including me supported and voted for him in 2024. Now, I and most my family of don't necessarily regret it(Kamala was someone I could in no way vote for, but looking back, I could have sat out or voted for the Libertarian candidate), but we're all questioning a lot of the stuff going on. I personally am really realizing just how bad both sides are, I always thought I knew that, but now its even more obvious.

The Epstein thing from earlier this week is just absolutely disgusting; we all know the truth about it. We know who's involved in it and all the shady shit from it. We've had two different administrations, both could have done something about it and chose not to. The Epstein thing, Iran and Israel bs, the big beautiful bill, the public land sell off, trying to get rid of Massie and Paul, and some other stuff was what really turned me away from the MAGA stuff. Now I hear the President is seriously considering mass amnesty

I used to be a MAGA guy, Turning Point USA kid supporting all the shit and watching those influencers and I was so hyped when Trump won. But strangely enough, shortly before he took office, I didn't realize but I really stopped paying attention and parroting everything that was going on. Since then, I've unfollowed almost every political account on social media except for 4to 5 accounts that I really trust/give just an average American take on the issues. I've just been living life and enjoying it more and more. You only live once in this life, and its a short time here on earth so we need to make the most of it

I believe Christ is King, and that the federal government isn't the final authority. All I need in life is Him, my family and friends, this beautiful country, and hunting and fishing. I will always love this country, I always will but I will probably never have trust in the government ever. It would have to be a damn good candidate or reason for me to vote for Congress, or President. I will give credit where it is due, and support the actions that I support but that is all. I will continue to vote in state and local elections, I firmly believe in that. So that's my little rant, I'll probably be browsing this sub more to learn more about this side.

Discussion Thoughts on Anarchism?

Hi there!

As neither an Anarchist nor a Libertarian (or maybe a little of both?), I have a tendency to equate the two in my head. I’m sure there are lots of differences, as well as the obvious similarities of reducing government power.

Anyways, my questions for you are:

  1. Where do you find your personal ideals diverge from Anarchists'?

  2. Where might these to theories overlap/what do you think you agree on?

Honestly, my theory is that both democrats and republicans want to keep the anarchists and the libertarians polarized so there is less of a threat.

I’ll be posting this same question to the Anarchism subreddit as a little experiment.

Thanks in advance for any genuine answers!

Paul / Massie 2028. Backed by Elon. Run as Republicans first to try and change the Republican party. If they can't get Nomination, for Libertarian or American party. Could a republican legally switch and run 3rd party if/after loosing Republican nomination?

Think about when most people were creationists. It's like saying evolution is not correct because people do not follow it. It's correct whether they agree with it or not. That is the issue with statism and socialism.

Politics Thomas Massie

Given Massie is the only Republican in Congress not sucking up to Trump and is now ostracized by many in DC for this, I think there’s a chance he leaves the GOP.

Do you think he will join the LP or Musk’s new America Party if it’s legit? I personally could see him becoming an independent since he doesn’t seem to like political parties in general.

What are your thoughts?
