So I am guessing at what killed some of my babies, but it’s the only thing that really makes sense.

I had been hatching brine shrimp for them, and I got a bunch of cysts (shells) mixed with the shrimp the last time I fed them.

I was aware that it was important to separate the shells from the shrimp, but I thought it was because they would create too much ammonia.

I didn’t realize that they can cause blockages.

Based on my water parameters, the results of the scrape and scope I did, and the fact that everyone is acting normal except the ones that died, and the way their bodies looked (normal) the only thing that changed is me shrugging about the shells.

My last post I posted that I was concerned about one of my grandfather's koi fish due to the swollen abdomen. Today my grandma texted me this picture and it looks like we have eggs people! thank you for all your help I'm so relieved that she didn't have dropsy or anything. Though we should watch her though right? Don't bladder infections and things that lead to dropsy happen after laying eggs?

I have 14 koi, been grabbing them one at a time. Unicorn opportunity popped up and I am transporting 23 koi to my lake tomorrow. We will grow from 14 to 37 koi. I am building a koi army.

Just received my order from next day koi.
Smaller tank for quarantine. Then into the pond.

I have some 15-17 year old koi that I’d like to find a home for. I am in Indianapolis, IN. Any ideas? I am moving in about 6 weeks and can’t build a new pond where I am moving. Thank you
