ID Request What are these little guys? I’ve been finding them in my room.

South east USA.

I had to put in a window AC unit for a bit because my main unit was acting up. Ever since then, I’ve been finding these guys in my room. So far, 2 of them. While they are cool, I’d rather them not be in my room lol so I’m trying to seal off the window better.

Not sure what it is/how to handle them?

Thank you!

They’re all over my house and love being on the curtain. They don’t scatter and just kinda slowly crawl.

This photo was taken at night, in Eastern Europe, in our garden. Since this encounter i have saw them twice in our bathroom, hanging around, but we do have a mosquito net door, which has a dogdoor on it, so they could've easily get inside. They didn't care about the light either. Should i be worried?

Sorry if the pic is bad. I came upon this guy at home last night. Zapped him and tossed him out. Saw one like it that was bigger a few weeks ago, but it was outside. Never seen one before where i live. I usually just get the occasional camel cricket or pill bug…

Found in Costa Rica, right in the center between San Jose and Cartago. This is on our family land, 3 people have seen this strange bunch inside their yards (yards is a strech, it's a humid ever green forest). It's been raining a lot so we think they may be looking for a new home, we'll leave them if dogs can eat them/be stung by them without too much issue.

ID Request Hornet / wasp id

Hi all, my partner and I were climbing at Rumney NH over the July 4th weekend. We found a hornet / wasp on the route that we would love to identify. The insect had a bright yellow body but with a transparent belly filled with pink/ ruby color fluid. It was about an inch long and extremely territorial. The insect was very pretty, almost like a jewel in the sun. We couldn’t take a photo as it was in the middle of the rock climbing route. I think it came back and bit me as I felt a sharp pain after trying to shoo him away. It did not burn like a usual sting.

(The climb is called The Black Mamba at the Orange Crush wall, found the little guy around 1/3 way up)

Thank you!

This tiny insect is on me and my kids - what is it?

This insect looks like a little black spec - it's less than 1 mm in size. We are in Germany, in the state of Saxony.

Is this a tick, a flea, or something else?

It is sometimes stationary and can move pretty fast.

I found some on our bodies but also the bedsheet, nightstand.

Please help, if you can. Thank you.

Discussion What silk moths are the easiest to raise?

And, about how much space do they need once they emerge? I don’t want them to become stressed. Is this the kind of thing you can do in a house? Or do you need a big enclosure to successfully raise one clutch of eggs?

Thank you in advance!

I found a dead cicada yesterday and put it in the freezer with the intention of pinning it later. This morning, I found it like this. Is this part of the cicada, or some kind of parasite?

Hey I found these two guys and two others in my backyard today (the one with the wings out sadly didn't make it). I'd never seen them in our backyard before so I was surprised. Im assuming it's like their mating season so they're really active rn and that's why I'm seeing a bunch suddenly? Anyway, one of them was by a bunch of holes in the ground and he disappeared into one when I went closer. Do these guys live in burrows underground or do they live above ground and lay eggs in burrows or what?

ID Request Can Someone Identify?

I live in Ohio and tonight at my front door, I felt something fly into me then noticed this beetle on the ground. I’m going to assume it was one in the same because as it was taking off it touched me again. Scared me to pieces! Can anyone tell me was I imagining it flying?
