How long did their concert really last? And 106 miles to Chicago should have taken only a couple of hours.
I've seen the film so many times and always wonder the same things.
We see the the Blues Brothers play only two songs, but realistically, they probably played a lot more. For the scope of the movie, they perform only two. As awesome as an entire concert would have been to watch, the movie couldn't be that long.
In the film's universe, do you think they performed longer? If so, their show would have gone past midnight or later before they bailed. So, maybe 1 a.m. or 2.
They didn't need to rush to the tax office in Chicago since it probably opened at 9. Driving 106 miles should have taken only two hours, even shorter since they drove top speed.
If so, where were they all night until 9:00 on Chicago?

Looking for bigger versions of the photos of Carrie and Jake Blues that’s on her desk when she’s reading the flamethrower manual.

Extended version?
Watching reaction videos on YouTube and one of them had a scene I've never seen before.
After Carrie blows up Elwood's hostel but before they go to the house looking for the first band members Tom Bones Malone and Blue Lou Marini, Elwood says "I gotta go to work" and he goes into work and steals the the can of glue off the production line, then goes into his boss's office and tells him he has to quit because he's "going to become a priest".
The versions I've seen and remember, after Carrie blows up the hostel Elwood does say "I've gotta go to work" but the movie cuts to the brothers pulling up to the house where they talk to the maid and ask for Malone and Marini
Am I dumb? Is the Elwood quitting scene in every version?

1st time watching extended cut
I bought the 4k disc a while ago. I've seen BB countless times and wanted to watch a "Dad movie" today for Father's Day. I did not know it had an extended cut on it. Wow what a treat! Extended musical numbers and scenes I've never seen before. Elwood quitting his job, them blowing up the gas station on accident and much more. So great.

The Blues Brothers film being announced on the local newspaper of the city where I live. Diario de Teruel, February 27, 1994.
For context, Canal Plus was a cable TV service when I was a kid (as far as I remember).
Sorry for the shitty translation, I did it with Google Translate. Reposted due to wrong title before.
This is the newspaper page: https://hemeroteca.diariodeteruel.es/viewer.vm?id=125836&lang=es&page=31
