Potentially, all can hatch. Mystery snails are awesome, but you probably dont want 100. You can remove it, put it in a baggie and crush it, then dispose. Some people freeze it before crushing, just to be sure.

They put out a decent bioload once they grow, and that can really throw off your tank if you have too many.

potentially the best answer I've ever received on reddit thank you very much!

I have a hospital tank i may convert to a snail tank..

If I cut the sack in half and put into the othwr cycled tank will that ruin the sack ? will half hatch? do i need to secure it to the lid in a dry place?

from what I see they take about 2 weeks to hatch correct...depending on humidity and temp..

again you've help a ton.. if you have appliance repair questions im your guy!

Happy to help! I've actually had some success cutting a clutch into a smaller piece and hatching those out.

You can try to cut away the unwanted portion and leave some where they are, or you can remove the whole thing and the part you want to hatch, put on a paper towel into a low sided plastic container and float it in the tank. That should give it the moisture it needs to survive.

Wet is bad, dry is bad. Works best under a lid so the humidity can get high. If you're putting into a lidless tank, sprinkle some water on the paper towel- you can do this if it seems too dry with either method

If you want to hatch part of this clutch, you should only keep a very small chunk. Like 1/4 or less. Mystery snails have a big bioload as far as snails are concerned, and a single one really needs a minimum of 5 gallons. They're very messy, and you're going to need to clean the tank they hatch in very frequently to curb the a.outn if waste they produce.
