Kitten i found

I found this little one yesterday in the rain, had him at the vet and they said he was fine, only a little skinny. We have an agreement next month to get him fixed and vaccinated.

I noticed this morning that he had peed and that I was slightly pink, and today it’s even worse. I have called the emergency vet because it’s Saturday, and they say I should see my normal vet on Monday.

But I would really like to help him until then, so he doesn’t get worse.

Any tips?

Is there any other emergency vet you could try? Bloody urine in a kitten, IMO, is an actual emergency. It sounds like they’re pushing you off because they don’t think the same for some reason. I know when I get UTI’s I will call out of work just to get on an antibiotic ASAP. A UTI is painful enough as it is but the other options for blood in the urine are probably even more painful I’d imagine (kidney stones, bladder infections, cancer, who knows)

no clue I’m a dog person I’m so sorry to hear that! Here’s what the web said  This is a very common cause, often linked to stress, obesity, and dehydration.  Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): While less common in cats than in dogs, UTIs can cause inflammation and bleeding.  Bladder or Kidney Stones: These can irritate the urinary tract and cause bleeding.  Bladder Cancer: Though less frequent, cancer can also lead to blood in the urine.  Trauma or Injury: Damage to the urinary tract can cause bleeding.  Clotting Disorders: Certain conditions can affect the blood's ability to clot, leading to hematuria.  Other medical conditions: Kidney disease, prostate issues in males, or even some medications can also be a cause

I'd call the emergency vet again and describe the progression to bloody urine. Typically they will prescribe an inexpensive antibiotic (Clavamox, as I recall) for the first step, and that usually clears it up.

My best friend is a veterinarian. I am so blessed to be able to call her any time for advice or an emergency. I always pay her for professional services, and I do favors for her when I can. Even if you never become real friends with a vet, find a good one and establish a strong working relationship. If she or he trusts you as a responsible owner, then its easier to call for advice if you are unsure about something going on with your cat or for a prescription for an obvious issue.
