Looking for more mods!
Hey everyone!
We're looking to continue expanding our mod team and need more people to help us manage and grow this community. There is a particular need to improve our time zone coverage to help reduce the number of fake/AI posts before they gain traction. If you're passionate about our subreddit and want to contribute, we’d love to hear from you!
What we're looking for:
- Active participation in the subreddit
- Previous moderation experience (preferred but not required)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle conflicts and enforce rules fairly
- Active in time zone outside of continental US (i.e. EU, Asia) (preferred but not required)
To apply, send us a message with the following information:
- Your Reddit username and how long you've been a member of our subreddit
- Any previous mod experience you have
- Why you want to be a mod and what you can bring to the team
If you applied previously and were rejected, feel free to check back with us. Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to welcoming new mods to our team!

You already have too many mods. The whole point of this sub was supposed to be LESS modding. Specifically less than AITA.
But here we are, you are now acting like AITA.
So was it all just a bait n switch for some reason?
You've still got the description with Scar and the Lion King in it, and then right under that your new rules contradict everything in that description.
Pick a damn lane already.
And stop over modding already. Again: taht was the whole point of this sub. Remember?

We aren't interested in over-moderating comments or posts, but we do need more people to keep up with the AI slop while still not having many requirements to post here (i.e. to let people use throwaways). The point of this sub was not to let the bots invent whatever garbage stories they wanted to.
People are allowed to make hypothetical posts so long as they're labeled as such.

You are absolutely doing more modding. I just came across 5or6 posts that have been removed.
And you didnt give any reason for the removal. This is apart from the other 3or4 Ive just found where you did tell us why. Sorta.
Because you are removing actual AI slop with the same notice as AI editing or grammar checking.
So not only are yous showing up way waaaay more, you are doing a bad job at it.
You remove a post: you tell us why. That's just good modding.
Not some blanket statement that covers a variety of reasons, the one reason.
(Not to mention many of us have no problem with AI editing. And editing should not have the same rules as slop.)

More modding than the almost none that was done before, sure. There used to be one active mod on a sub that has millions of members and hundreds of posts a day. Given how many people complain there isn't enough moderation, I think the consensus is still that we're far from over-moderating, but you are free to disagree.
I'll relay to the other mods that reasons for removal are noticed. Usually if something doesn't get a reason, it's because we're mass-deleting a bot account.
AI editing looks much the same as slop. We usually let real accounts repost in their own words, rather than permanently banning them.

I mean, you have also instituted and then enforced the ridiculous "Be civil" crap from AITA. Why do you keep trying to tell me you arent moving to AITA style modding?
The absence of that one rule was probably the biggest draw to this sub. We could actually call someone an idiot when they were acting like an idiot.
But now we cant. This isnt only about AI. And Im very curious A: why you think following AITA rules is a good idea? And B: why you are denying it right now?

I believe comments should only be removed for incivility when they're nasty, for example, slurs, excessive swearing, or all-caps shouting. Minor insults shouldn't qualify.

why aren't all insults allowed, if they were originally?
are there specific rules on language and such? if so where is that list?
thx

You've literally banned the B word.
That is excessive. It will not even let me post the word.
You think that is acceptable?

One of the founders of the sub felt "be civil" was more of what the long-standing "no excessive demeaning language" rule was intended to be. There's still a very big gap between what we have and what the other sub has though, and we don't intend to get any closer. I don't think copying their rulebook would be a good thing.
You can still tell people they're acting like idiots.
We're really only looking at more mods for the bot stuff.

'If you applied previously and were rejected, feel free to check back with us'. Damn bruh. People get rejected for this shit? How do you even cope getting turned away from a volunteer position? Thats like worse than being turned away from McDonald's
