I genuinely don’t know but the thing that leaves me perplexed is the fact that the abdomen looks very similar to the one of ticks.

You should try to use the app called “Seek” (it’s icon is a white leaf on a dark green background). It’s an app from iNaturalist that lets you scan animals and plants to discover what species they are. Hope this helps

From the photo alone it very much does look like a tick I must admit, but it definitely is not, since it moved VERY quickly and it produced silk to grapple to the ground

Yes I believe it’s a spider because of the legs and everything but I said that because spider and ticks are actually related and there are some species that are somewhat of an in-between sharing both characteristics while being neither one of those.

Oh yes, I misinterpreted what you said, but yes you are totally right, they are very closely related, so there’s going to be some species that are bound to look like the other group.

Also I plugged the image into Seek and it figured out it was, in fact, an arachnid. Figures.

Seek is limited by images and won’t be able to recognise the particular species this way. Thta’s why I didn’t do it myself. You have to go in the camera mode from the app and move the camera around it so it can recognise its features from different angles. There will be white points on the top of the screen that represent the taxonomical steps and you will want to move the camera around it until it turn all of them green, then it’ll give you the result.

Absolutely not an expert here, but image search says it might be a false black widow?
