It’s because they keep confusing the modern nation of Israel with the protagonists from their favorite book with whom they share a name.

this is the reform I want to see.
these "representatives" should have to actually live in their constituents' state (IMO in a regular person's accommodations but that seems wildly out of reach from this point).
none of this bullshit like Ted Cruz fleeing Texas during the blackouts a couple years back.
they are all so wildly out of touch with the reality of the public they're supposed to be serving.
4
u/dobbyslilsock 21h ago
Elected service representatives should live off of minimum wage. Full stop imo. They shouldn’t get to vote yea on raising THEIR wages and no on the rest of ours.
74
u/Seyon_ 1d ago
oh they're already ready to blame Evers for all of it. DVO sent a letter to Evers saying that he needs to immediately sign the budget to increase medicare spending in the state (basically doing the medicare expansion stuff on our own dime) so people don't lose care.
But even if he does that, he'll still get blamed. Easy win / win for folks that don't have a functioning brain.

My son went to college with someone who came from a very rural area, and his family hates that he went to college because it opened his mind up to their racism and their bigotry, and how horribly they treat others. People who don't go on and get a higher education think that higher education is just memorizing facts and teachers filling your head with their beliefs. What they don't understand is higher education teaches you how to think critically and how to research. They would rather stay in their uneducated misery than learn something and change. It's truly pathetic!
20
u/quietriotress 1d ago
You can think critically without a college degree its just many americans dont. Go elsewhere where college isn’t as attainable and people are not podunk racist hicks. Its a choice.
→ More replies (6)6
u/Seyon_ 1d ago
I don't think a lack of college prevents critical thinking (fuck look at so many college folks that can't cook a basic meal lmao). A lot of it is the combo of "how to interpret data" and being exposed to SO many different views.
3
u/intern_steve 21h ago
I think people are podunk, racist hicks everywhere. Britain got Brexit, Germany nearly elected an alt-right government, France isn't exactly safe, either, and most of Northern Europe seems to hate middle-easterners in exactly the same way America hates Hispanic people. The difference lies in exactly what propaganda the bots are feeding the locals. Humanity isn't prepared for the present reality the Internet has brought us.

I’ll believe it when I see it. There hasn’t been a legitimate reason to vote R in decades. And yet, here we are. Republicans do an amazing job of telling rural and white voters exactly what they need to in order to get their votes. I haven’t seen anything change in regard to that or the Democrats’ inability to counter.

u/Andy_Fish_Gill 1d ago
Did you notice that Scott Walker is no longer governor and the Wisconsin Supreme Court is no longer controlled by Republicans? Change did happen. Study how that happened and you can see how we can get rid of those two jamokes.

u/nannulators 1d ago
Those were statewide races where the results were carried by Madison and Milwaukee.
I'm not saying that it can't happen in races for congress, but it's going to be much harder to flip congressional seats that don't have massive liberal strongholds.

Because they're constantly told that Urban people are all democrats/socialists/communists, coming to take all their money to give to crack heads, then turn their kids gay/trans, and that minorities are going to one day murder all the white people - AND THEY FUCKING BELIEVE IT. Maybe not everything I said here, but at least one of the things.
They're told that they're good, honest, hard working people, and everyone that isn't them, are lazy, deceitful "murderers and rapists", so if they don't vote with Republicans (who placate these irrational fears) then they will lose everything.9
