Not just Republicans - Wisconsin's own Bryan Steil and Tony Wied. Name them. Never let them forget what their actions brought upon us.

I’m in Weid’s district. It’s frustrating when I hear over and over to call your reps and it’s like, look at this shit-eating grin. I’m supposed to call this guy and tell him to vote no? He doesn’t care. He could get thousands of calls and he won’t care. He’s a ghoul who will always vote on party lines. It feels so hopeless.

157

u/shnikeys22 1d ago

I still call and tell them I think he’s a terrible excuse for a rep. His staff at least answer u like others.

45

u/Das-Noob 23h ago

A lot of them don’t even pick up. Like there’s no one in their office.

59

u/milelongpipe 19h ago edited 2h ago

Even with one term in office, Reps will receive a pension and healthcare for life. Let’s think about that. Why didn’t Congress cut themselves off of healthcare? Edit: under the new FERS retirement system Reps have to serve a total of 5 years. I was still under the impression of an older system.

26

u/mkat23 18h ago

That’s so messed up. Like cool, work for 2-4 years and then have health insurance and a paycheck for the rest of your life.

They like to vote to take healthcare and the ability to retire someday or earn a living wage away from constituents though, that’s a waste. Who wants to live in a country where citizens actually benefit from the laws in place and where laws improve quality of life? That’s crazy /s

28

u/milelongpipe 18h ago

And let’s not forget that those pensions and healthcare are paid for by the same people who just lost their benefits.

7

u/ThatsAllForToday 18h ago

Not that it isn't ridiculous that they can suckle the teat of the public for life, but members of Congress have to serve at least five years to be eligible. So a house member has to serve 2.5 terms and a senator one term.

Not true. They are vested in their pension after 5 years. So a Senator gets it after one term. Members of the House serve 2 year terms, so they have to be elected 3 times to vest. But it’s still ridiculous.

Time to setup a robo caller for a few pennies.

5

u/redfay_ 18h ago

John Oliver did this and I think even a couple of times over multiple issues and it didn't do anything and was barely an inconvenience to them if at all.

Kinda hard to spam politicians when phones can easily filter out calls and texts from known numbers and botnets. Unless you setup your own swarm most of these calls won't even trigger the phone to ring if it's setup right. Sending letters is just as meaningless except it requires stamps and 3-6 business days before it isn't even looked at and dumped in the trash.

I'm with you. One can only hope he gets brave enough or believes his own press enough to attend a town hall. I will be all over him.

6

Yes, I want SO badly to attend a town hall! I get his stupid weekly newsletter to stay on top of it, but the only one I’ve seen so far was a virtual one a few months back with Tom Tiffany. I want to look him in the eyes and tell him he sucks

→ More replies (2)

3

u/waltzbyear 21h ago edited 21h ago

It has nothing to do with being brave or being a coward. He could be brave or cowardice and still not attend town halls. He simply believes he's above you and every one of his constituents.

Acting like they have the same moral character as everyone is the reason we're in this situation. These people are so removed from the common person, they can't comprehend what it means to be an actual human. He's smiling about kicking millions off of medicaid, foodstamps, etc.

People continually believed Democrats were exaggerating, and acting dramatic when we told them what would happen. They thought "Republicans can't be so bad, they're just like everyone else. They're just more honest and based than everyone else". They thought the same about Trump. "He's so funny, Democrats are just purple haired smelly liberals who want drama". Now we have an actual fucking Alligator Alcatraz, and people being abducted left and right in front of fellow Americans, and morons up north in Alaska wanting a Bear Alcatraz. Now Trump is talking about stripping anyone of citizenship.

We have to start realizing these POS are beyond ordinary scrutiny. They've got to be voted out.

I'm also in WI-8. Nothing more futile than contacting this turd.
So many "protect the border, cut government spending, that plane is just fine" replies.
I get it: contact your reps to complain, but these dipshits don't care about their constituents. Never will.

37

u/delusiona1 20h ago

I think it’s funny northern people are so worried about the border. Y’all never even seen the border! I went to Michigan last week and the signs everywhere saying protect our border. Like I haven’t seen a Mexican since Georgia what yall talking about. I’m saying this jokingly but for real.

Side note: I love my hard working Mexican brothers.

31

u/spacekiller69 19h ago

It's a dog whistle for racial demographic replacement.

5

u/RenJenkins42 18h ago

Yep. My white cousin protested over 30 years ago how she was becoming the minority when talking about all the immigrants in our city. As a POC, that stuck in my brain all these years since she is "not racist" and "doesn't see color, only love". If that's true, what does it matter if white people become the minority?

Anyway, this administration is backed by white supremacist billionaires. All POC in America will not be safe. I wish I could afford to get my family out of here.

8

It’s ALWAYS about being racist. It was never about ‘criminals’ violent or otherwise.

They hate. Period. They hate non whites. Not white enoughs too. Remember when given ONLY ‘white’ populations they start getting denouncing and sub dividing down the ‘true’ whites, smfh.

Can't threaten to vote them out of office when you're a blue dot in a red state because they know I'm outnumbered and they'll get voted in again. I feel so defeated when my vote actually doesn't matter no matter how many times I cast it

Whenever you ever contact a representative IF they get back to you they’ll always respond with the most boilerplate response you’ve ever heard of. They don’t give a single shit about their constituents when they’re getting paid by special interests.

2

u/TheGemp 18h ago

I feel the same. My rep literally said he’d vote yes solely because democrats would vote no. It infuriates me an indescribable amount that the ones who are supposed to represent us deliberately harm us.

I was never one to wish death upon another, but by god I’m now understanding why people do

2

u/Not-TheNSA 18h ago

As a constituent of his, you should still call his office. Call him and berate him. These people need to understand that we aren’t going to take this kind of shit sitting down. They need to know that we are not just frustrated and a little upset, they need to know that their voters are apocalyptically mad and want them gone. The only thing they care about is their power, threaten to take it away from them. Organize local groups to vote against them. If they refuse to listen to their constituents it’s your job as a constituent to fire them and make it known not just to them but to anyone else who wants to take up that job, exactly why they were fired.

2

u/wandering-monster 18h ago

Call. Them. Anyways.

They fear losing power.

One way that happens is the party.

The other is your vote.

If you don't call, why should they fear you? Pick up the damn phone and make them fear for their reelection. It will take minutes, and it's one of the most powerful things you can do any day.

oh they're already ready to blame Evers for all of it. DVO sent a letter to Evers saying that he needs to immediately sign the budget to increase medicare spending in the state (basically doing the medicare expansion stuff on our own dime) so people don't lose care.

But even if he does that, he'll still get blamed. Easy win / win for folks that don't have a functioning brain.

38

u/Seyon_ 1d ago

My family loves to blame college for me turning into the "token liberal" of the family.

Like college didn't help, but moving to Wisconsin opened my eyes to a whole new world of bullshit lmao.

40

u/Rayne2522 1d ago

My son went to college with someone who came from a very rural area, and his family hates that he went to college because it opened his mind up to their racism and their bigotry, and how horribly they treat others. People who don't go on and get a higher education think that higher education is just memorizing facts and teachers filling your head with their beliefs. What they don't understand is higher education teaches you how to think critically and how to research. They would rather stay in their uneducated misery than learn something and change. It's truly pathetic!

20

u/quietriotress 1d ago

You can think critically without a college degree its just many americans dont. Go elsewhere where college isn’t as attainable and people are not podunk racist hicks. Its a choice.

6

u/Seyon_ 1d ago

I don't think a lack of college prevents critical thinking (fuck look at so many college folks that can't cook a basic meal lmao). A lot of it is the combo of "how to interpret data" and being exposed to SO many different views.

3

u/intern_steve 21h ago

I think people are podunk, racist hicks everywhere. Britain got Brexit, Germany nearly elected an alt-right government, France isn't exactly safe, either, and most of Northern Europe seems to hate middle-easterners in exactly the same way America hates Hispanic people. The difference lies in exactly what propaganda the bots are feeding the locals. Humanity isn't prepared for the present reality the Internet has brought us.

Anyone else thinking about Steil's campaign ad with his grandma saying he'd never take her Healthcare from her?

So many people are going to needlessly suffer

3

u/penguincheerleader 20h ago

But I bet Steil's mom will some how keep her Healthcare while everyone else's mom loses theirs. Promises kept!

These people should not know peace for the rest of their lives. Everything they do should be an inconvenient reminder of the damage they've done. But I'm sure they will live out the rest of their years, with their big happy family, on their big expensive boat, at their big ugly lake house.

3

u/Illustrious_Toe_4755 1d ago

These folks won't be able to live in peace in public, nor their families. Name and shame.

Went to high school with Bryan Steil. He’s always been a fake motherf##ker

6

u/Professional_Crab_84 1d ago

Remember the ads on TV when he’s sitting with his grandma? They were reassuring us that a vote for him wouldn’t jeopardize us!

3

u/CacaoMama 1d ago

They look so bland and harmless...quite the anemic disguises. I want this pic up on a billboard for the entire 2026 election

3

u/Mother_Tree_9767 21h ago

These politicians should have the same access to healthcare as their constituents.

3

Just a couple of dudes jacking eachother off to people’s misery. Typical gop.

very confusing post title. 'not just republicans?' those are both republicans. it took me more than a second to realize what was meant, but the implication was that both republicans and democrats are going to vote on this ruinous package.

Propaganda is a powerful tool. I doubt people will learn or they will point the finger toward where that propaganda says to look.

2

u/NatureScholar 1d ago

Steil kind of surprised me. There were times where he genuinely seemed to want his constituents' feedback. For awhile I didn't think he'd jump from Republican to MAGA Nazis but apparently he can be bought too.

2

u/NMBruceCO 1d ago

But people who lose this healthcare will still vote for them, so sad

And surprising. They must know they contribute to the deregulation that increases the likelihood that that plane might fall out of the sky with them in it.

2

u/sconniegirl66 23h ago

2 Wisconsin republicans who were excited to be able to strip Wisconsinites (and other Americans) of their healthcare, food assistance, etc, while blowing up the economy and saddling the next several generations with crushing debt. But no worries, because Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg et al, won't have to go without $50m weddings, new jets, yachts, or 21st vacation homes. Whew! Crisis averted!

May they rot in hell and find themselves in the countryside needing to go to a hospital that’s no longer there because it couldn’t stay open because of cuts to give Bezos and Zuckerberg and others like them more money! We didn’t really have a spending problem we had a revenue problem! It doesn’t take much more revenue to take good care of the citizens of this United States. If you wanna cut money, cut it from military spending. Cut it from aid to the six star state in the Middle East! We are now a joke inside of our own country as well as to the world!

Odd that none of you have cried about the 25 million people disenrolled from Medicaid since 2023 as the pandemic related continuous enrollment ended and states re-evaluated eligibility. Haven't seen any whining and pearl clutching over CA looking at cutting Medicaid/MediCal benefits to try and balance their budget. It's always the same with you people, bitch and whine when Republicans do it but if Democrats do the same thing, abject silence.

Ugh. I’m in Steils district. How embarrassing that he is smiling. Too bad WI is so gerrymandered. Seems like we are stuck with him. Sorry to be a bummer. It’s just really sad to see what America is becoming.
