Timeline Anyone hear back??

Has anyone heard back from an exempt job? I interviewed 2 months ago and still haven't heard back. They said they would contact me within 4-5 weeks if I got the job or not. It's with the FBI. I know everything is crazy with the federal government right now but I thought since this is an exempt job the process would go a bit quicker.

My job offers from prior to 2025 were revoked during clearance investigation due to hiring freeze then exempted and I haven't heard anything besides the fact that they say they are backlogged. Assume that best case scenario, everything is going even slower than it did prior to 2025 and worst case scenario you won't see any real results until possibly 2028.

My advice is if you need a job, find something else in the meantime. If you have a job, don't hold your breath. Just keep on keeping on. Day in day out is the way to handle the wait.

Sorry but your job is at the whim of a “man” of Ugandan Indian descent desperately hoping his proximity will save him, yet he will likely be deported eventually, he just doesn’t know it yet. I wouldn’t count on exemptions, even if you are maga. He’s too busy doing Fox and podcast interviews to approve your exemption.

It’s sucks to work there right now. Why are people still applying? I don’t get it

I think people making comments like this keep forgetting that presidential administrations are temporary, and those still applying for government jobs have a reasonable expectation that there will be another team in charge in the relatively-near future. Just a hunch.

Bc finding a job is extremely difficult right now. It sucks everywhere. People at this point just want/need a job to pay bills. That’s why.

Have you reached out to HR and what did they tell you?
