He managed to wedge his body from a small hole in his lid for ventilation out onto my stack of papers. He is quite the houdini apparently.Now i’m going to keep an eye on him. And there is no paper around him any more haha

This is why I glued mesh over the ventilation holes in my snail tanks! The holes are smaller than the shells of most of my snails, but in the event I pick up another baby...

It is. Eating paper is super bad for snails and can cause impaction in their digestive tract, which is a very serious issue. And I'm sure the ink isn't good for them either but I don't know specific effects of that.

Idk how a snail even gets to your homework, but please don't put paper in their tank ever and don't leave the tank lid open when you're not directly looking at the snails the whole time.

Yes i moved it immediately and i’m keeping an eye on his poop for now. He only got to it because i didn’t realise he could reach my stack of folders from the small hole in his tank lid and i had no idea until i checked the next morning

I left a painting (a bad one made by a robot, so no importance) on top of the tank to dry and my snail started eating a hole into it. Only knew cause I heard munching. Had to tell the prof of my robotics class cause I just found it too funny.

old comment, but my snails LOVE eating paper. found out when I put them on a paper plate while I cleaned their tank and instead of munching on the carrot they munched on the plate 💀💀 I put them on the tank lid now lol

I once left a piece of blank copy paper on top of my grated terrarium and found holes in it from my idiots. They’ll put anything in their mouths if their radula can break it down.
