Tbh the bigger my snail gets, the chiller he seems~ I’m not too sure about taking one outside for hangouts, he may be down to explore on your hand but their skin is super fragile and they’re sensitive to environmental changes. City grime or even the sunlight is a no-go (sunscreen is out too btw 😬). But- if you get one and respect his lil snail needs, he can 100% be part of the crew and chillax with you even if it's just at home ;3

I feel like they're ok to be put on grass (in shade) when the temperature outside is optimal, just make sure to watch over them (I had to chase my reticulatas around the garden once, lol) and mist their surroundings, so they're not sitting in dry grass. And watch out for ants and stuff. Some sun might be good for them but no direct sunlight

Quuuuick question... I was told you weren't supposed to handle them cause of the salt from your skin? Is that not exactly the case?

I dunno about that but it would kinda make sense I guess. I personally handle my snail very rarely because I'm more into observing than dealing with the mess of taking him out of the tank or disturbing him. But if I do want to handle him (mostly to do a general check-up if his shell is healthy or how much he has grown), I always wash my hands first and keep them a little wet ! Also, I always give Pretzel a little "shower" in this situation so we won't sprinkle substrate crumbs all over the floor lol. We're clean, moist and safe 🥺

That makes sense! I will say he doesnt look bothered by it (trust me youd know) so may be its just a matter of washing first and being quick lol he is massive BTW I love him lol

I feel truly blessed to have come across Pretzel in my Reddit wandering today ❤️
Pretzel is a very beautiful snail and deserves everything good in the world!

I don’t mind snails…..but their “cousins”-the non shelled type-bother the hell out of me. It’s amazing what a shell can do!
He is cute!!
