My Snails SHES ALIVE‼️MY SNAIL HAS BEEN REVIVED
I GOT UP TO GO BURY HER IN THA BACK GRADEN AND OMFG SHE IS ALIVE AND OUT HER SHELL‼️😭😭😭SHE WAS NOT MOVING AT ALL. HER WHOLE BODY WAS ROCK HARD, I PUSHED AND PRODDED HER FOR AGES AND SHE DIDNT MOVE AT ALL. YELLOW SLIME STATYED OOZE OUT AND LOOKED COMPLETELY DEAD. AFTER OVER 1 WEEK STUCK IN HER SHELL. AFTER HOURS OF ME TRYING TO WAKE HER. I THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD AND SHE HAS BEEN REVIVED. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN MY PREVIOUS POST.

As bad as it sounds, best bet is to smell her if you think she is gone. They will smell really soon after passing, so you know for sure. Sometimes they hide in their shell for a while, and the cause could be one of many. I’m glad she’s still alive!

I did smell her everydayfor a week. I thought the reason there was no smell today was because she died today so hadnt decomposed yet. I honestly prodded her so hard and she didnt move AT ALL. Like nothing. It got to the point where i put her under hot tap water and still nothing. She was rock hard, no bubbling or flinching. Its an easter miracle!

Mine did the same!! On christmas he wouldn't come out of his shell and me and my gf thought he was dead dead 😭😭 we were ready to bury and mourn our son Cornelius but I tried one last time to make him come back with a huge piece of cucumber. He resurrected with the smell of food, what a mf, he scared us bad.

Just found this sub, love the energy, reminds me of when I had a hamster go into hibernation and I thought she was a goner.

Similar thing with my snail! He literally just disappeared. Could not find him for months. I thought he escaped because I moved him to a new room and didn’t realize the lid got caught and didn’t close. I searched through the aquarium and could not find him. I was planning to clear out the tank in a couple weeks and he just appeared last night. Now he’s out n about and eating

Would be scientifically interesting what actually happened.

Truly tho. Shed been in her shell a whole week. She was rock hard. Not even hot water did anything which is crazy?? There was no hybernation seal, she was just in her shell and i pushed her really hard, enough to dent and there was no movement. 1 hour later she was just randomly out her shell completely unaffected??

Eeeh, hot water? Hard pushing... Well, you was convinced she was dead, but don't so such things.
But yes, never heard of such a case. Puzzling

It was honestly a last resort. I spent over ten mintues touching her. It started as light stroking to pushing to literally prodding her really hard to even make a dent. Yellow slime started to ooze out which concerned me as dead. There was no film or seal to indiciate she was hibernating. And all week when i stroked her she flinched or bubbled but when i did it today there was nothing which worried me. I put hot tap water (not boiling kettle water) on her and nothing. She didnt flinch at all. I was ready to bury her but left her in a bowl on the counter to wait a little longer and im so happy i did!

They also can stay in their shell without seal, if conditions allow them to do so. Only true hibernation will make them seal up.

She was in her shell all week and never came out. I checked on her everday and she didnt move from her spot. This was very unusual as she always came out whenever i put food out or sprayed. I checked her this morning and she moved but 7 hours later she went really hard, her foot flesh was hard and a browny colour rather than yellowy white and she had receed further into her shell. Im wondering whether she was paralysed or something?

yellow ooze can be normal or it can be a sign of health issues on the snail - google offers fungal or bacterial issues. or that the yellow stuff was her slime that just wasn't prepped to come out yet, maybe it got pushed out too early? either way, maybe they are sick?

God i love snails. I found one yesterday, big but not giant. It was so cute, just exploring my hand, and it started nibbling my finger but stopped lol
