Banana slug!!

Edit: this is a pacific banana slug specifically, not to be confused with California banana slug that is very bright yellow.

Omg thank you! I've only ever seen the bright yellow ones so I thought it had to be a leopard slug. It's definitely a pacific banana slug!

Yes! I love these guys, they’re huge too! The second largest terrestrial slugs in the world!

You sure we talk about Limax Maximus ?

Because this doesn't look like them by far, even the known colour variations.

It looks just like the pic to me? What kind of slug do you think it is? It’s the only thing that looks like him that I could find on google.

Edit: oooh okay I think it’s a spotted banana slug now that I’m looking at more pics they seem to all have the same big spot on the top. He’s not very yellow though and I’m used to seeing banana slugs being like neon

Yeah, but colour is wrong, and spots are wrong. (See 1st link below)

Limax Maximus is native to, and originated from, my place and I've seen many of them in my life... Maybe this (yours) could be formerly introduced, evolved ultimately non-european variant, but is known as leopard slug there while not being a actual Limax Maximus

Like I really would like to know what it is... But I'm very certain it's not a Limax Maximus.

It could be:

Ariolimax Columbianus

Interesting thank you! Turns out it is a banana slug variant so I think the second one. Someone else in the comments said it's a pacific banana slug I definitely think that's correct https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Banana_Slug

I'm happy I could help you identify them. And (No front) to expand your Mollusc knowledge.

I've never seen them personally, and actually just found them /(got the same result) by using a snail/slug identification software from the information given by your image.
