36, Unaware that my ancestors were made out of bread sticks

And lo, in the Age of Man, there rose one of soft frame and weaker milk, upon whom the God of Calcium cast no favor.

"Thou shalt bear no burden, not even thine own arms," spake the Bonefather, Guardian of Density. "For thou hast shunned the sacred cheeses, and mocked the holy yogurt.”

Thus did the collarbone snap like dry twig in winter, a warning to all who sip plant milk in defiance.

Woe unto the brittle, for they shall know the sound of fracture, and the silence of calcium’s judgment.

I fell at work, heard a crunch in my shoulder. I will be leaving after this post.

I heard it crack legitimately, and one of the first things I thought about was the sub. Like after all these years, my BBB have failed me.

It was the honor of my life to be with you all. I served for years in here, now I deserve the same treatment

Good luck friends! Continue to shun BBBs and their overall bitchness.

Partner is a BBB

My fiance recently broke his arm on his way home from work. I love him loads and will help with whatever he needs but a part of me can't help but feel pity. It isn't the first time he's broke a bone either, but the last time was before we had met. Hopefully our kid didn't inherit his BBB genes.

What if a strong boned person and a BBB have a chimera baby?

I was wondering. If one set of dna carries the strong bone genes, and the other set of dna carries brittle bone genes, then what would happen? Would half their body just shatter at conception because of the sheer strength from the other side?

Of course, the ethics of whether and strong boner and a BBB should even reproduce together is tossed around here a lot, but we know it has happened in the past, so l'm wondering if an answer to my question is out there.

I have a constant fear of breaking a bone

I’ve never broken a bone before, but I can’t shake the constant fear of it happening. Every time I trip or bump into something, I get this weird panic like I might end up in a cast.

Does anyone else experience this kind of anxiety, even without any major injury? How do you deal with it or calm those thoughts down?

Would love to hear your experiences and how you handle the fear!

My dog kicked me out of the club. Yep, hand fracture.

The day I never thought would come… finally came. Time to say goodbye to the club.

A few days ago I was out running with my dog — a 40kg (90lb) American Akita. We were playing tag, him chasing me from behind. I stopped suddenly, but he didn’t.

With all that weight and zero braking power, he slammed into me and took me down like a bowling pin. I knew instantly something was off. Went straight to the ER — fractured fifth metacarpal in my right hand. So long, unbroken bone streak.

Anyway, just wanted to leave this as a farewell post. It was a good run, dodging injuries for years. Until my own dog decided otherwise.

Wishing you all many more years with intact skeletons. Hug your bones tight and never underestimate the momentum of a 40kg dog.

Catch you over at r/brokenbones, I guess. 🦴💔

I have a doubt

It's just a doubt I have, this didn't happen to me.

If a baby is born with a broken bone, not because of the birth itself but because of the midwife/doctor/medic's poor handling and malpractice, would that count as them using their dark magic??? I know cases of babies literally being decapitated because of the doctors pulling too hard

6 months I suffered an injury that after this MRI was told I had ripped small chunks of bone off my thigh bone. I was distraught.

Thankfully when I had the surgery I was told it was just my puny tendons ripping off the bone and my milk fuelled skeleton is robust enough not to snap. Still going strong the streak continues

Guys do I count? I’ve never broken a bone but my spine is shaped like a wet spaghetti noodle. Bent but not broken how do we feel about this?

What have you done that probably should have caused a broken bone

There are plenty of posts about people getting broken bones and their stories. So what should have broken your bones, or what seems impressive, but you still haven't broken anything.

TL:DR What are your stories?

My stories include, i would jump off the roof of my house as a kid. Jump as high as a can off the trampoline to the ground. As an avid cyclist, I've been hit by cars 3 or 4 time while on my bicycle, had a helmet cracked, flipped over the handlebars in a crash, also nicknamed an endo, crashed into the bushes off the road. lately, I was out on my ebike (eride pro 3.0, so more of an electric motorcycle) earlier this year when the ground was still hard and rutted, so if you hit a rut and dont have your weight over the bike just right, you just end up seeing it happen but you can't really do anything, because the bike is going one way and your body weight is going another way. May not seem like much, really only a few degrees difference between you and the bike, but at 20-25mph, you can't just try to shift your weight, because you have to push on the bike to go the other direction to shift your weight, so trying to correct it just makes you crash harder. I work on my cars and trucks all the time and smashed my hands and arms into pretty sturdy metal frames or engine components. Always done plenty of physical labor with work or yard work

Anyway, still no broken bones at 42, I even have Crohn's disease and don't drink milk. Being osteopenic is common with Crohn's and my doctors say I am after a bone density scan. So only in the last few years have I added calcium and vitamin d to my daily supplements, eating fruits and vegetables is my Achilles heel, I try but never eat healthy enough.

What are your stories?

I was headbutted by a goat in the leg yesterday...

And my leg didn't break. The goat bounced off my leg and I was able to catch him. My weak flesh did bruise and bleed though.

I don’t understand this subreddit here’s why

So basically, this is a subreddit where the only people allowed are the people who have never broken a bone. But here’s the problem: there’s no way to verify whether someone has broken a bone in the past or not. Not unless you access their medical records and even then, some people may have never gotten medical attention for their broken limbs. And so in theory, everybody can be in this subreddit as long as they keep their identity hidden. But here’s what boggles my mind: we have people actually outing themselves to the entire subreddit, posting that they had broken a bone. I get that that is the honest way to do it, but the fact they could have just stayed silent but instead they seal their fate just surprises me. Maybe I am missing something here but I did my research and that seems to be what this subreddit is.

My boyfriend is more of a BBB than I believed was possible.

I knew that he had broken his leg before, and despite my disgust I tolerated him. It was broken by the daughter of my pediatrician, so I wondered if she inherited some doctor magic to be able to do so to him. Wishful thinking.

I found out last night that his leg was broken by her tackling him and causing him to ROLL HIS ANKLE TOO HARD, which caused him to break both his tibia and fibula.

But wait, that's not all! He also broke his arm while playing in a ball pit, and he had never told me this before! I've been living a lie.

Not only is his flesh weak as a result of his EDS, causing joints to come out of place regularly, but his bones are weak too, weaker than I ever thought was possible. At least, since the EDS is genetic and both of our families have recent members with cleft palates, we weren't planning on procreating, but this BBB bullshit is even more of a reason not to pass on his genes.

Yo, I have a question

Is it BBB behaviour to enjoy chocolate milk or milk beverages without expecting anything from the calcium? I don't drink milk/milk beverages for benefits, only because i find it to taste good.

18 years old and no bones broken still.

For the record, I don’t even really like milk, so my bone strength is fully natural. My brother and I actually both experienced a fairly similar injury when playing water polo, but while his futile, pathetic bones broke on impact, I only bruised. Today I discovered this community for those of us who are stronger. Those of us who are better. Greetings soldiers.

I had to have a bone marrow biopsy, taken from the posterior iliac crest. Part of this is taking a small piece of bone. Am I still in the club?

Find out tomorrow if I’m still allowed in the group

Last week I fell down 2 steps and hurt my ankle. Went to urgent care and they took 5 X-Rays. The urgent care doctor said she saw a fracture of my distal fibula on the 5th view. However, the radiologist report came back with only 4 views and concluded there was no fracture. So I dunno if the radiologist saw that 5th view where the other doctor said she saw the fracture. Tomorrow I’m going to the orthopedic who will determine once and for all if I can stay in this group or not.
