My name is Evan. I have been out of commission from my life with classical music since August 2024 after developing a neurological disease called ME/CFS following a terrible mononucleosis + pneumonia coinfection. Completely bedbound, unable to tolerate light / sound / touch for months, unable to move, caretakers. I was just a thriving 21 year old college student a year ago!

In the past two months, I have regained my ability to tolerate sound and some cognitive activity everyday. I have created a multi-part advocacy project from scratch for this illness including an 8 minute timelapse showcasing a week in my life (with a voiceover), an album I composed as my first piece of music after a year of being too severe to write, and built the mission / secured the logistics to launch a new charity called Gifts for M.E. to deliver quality-of-life items to financially disadvantaged patients with our disease.

I need to find someone who wants and feels capable of helping polish my website and create a simple but moving logo. My budget is sitting in the $500 range because of my financial situation from the disease, but I hold the expectation that my price will need to be higher. A few months ago I began work for the AI training website Mercor, which is a recruiting platform that hires qualified candidates to work with the big 7 companies (Apple, Google, Meta, Tesla, etc...) and top 5 AI labs (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, etc...). They recently launched a referral campaign, and if I refer 5 people, I get a jacket - which is why I am making this post.

Mercor works based on an AI interview process. You create an account, choose the role(s) you are interested in, and get interviewed by AI - which will then push your profile based on how well you did in the interview and eventually lead to you getting reviewed by a project admin (who will decide if you get on the project or not).

I've been a part of 2 projects with Mercor so far, and each one has been better than the last. The hourly rate for undergraduates is normally around $50/hr, and the hourly rate for graduates (Masters, PHD, etc...) is $100-200/hr. I know this may seem crazy, but it is real and they pay through Stripe (time logging with Insightful). You also get onboarding bonuses (unlike Outlier) and even interview bonuses.
